The C70 is such a better camera in so many ways, but there's something about the C200 that still just feels "right". It's why I've always liked the C300 Mark III more than the C70.
I had such high hopes on the C200 coming from my workhorse C100 M2 - big disappointment!! - no 422 10bit internal to SD?? REALLY CANON?. Yes it did RAW but still ridiculous at the price - you nailed it "All or nothing" - well at the price of the C200 I wanted ALL and ALL. Didn't buy one even when the price dropped. Upgraded to the C70 - miss my EVF but very happy so far.
C70 is a hell of a camera for the price. Big upgrade in terms of image, frame rates, lowlight, etc. I wish it had the C200 form factor, but then I would just be the C300 III wouldn’t it?
@@dustinschmidtphoto The C200 was a odd duck - I know it has some solid image quality, and features in some respects, but it just didn't deliver enough for me - as I said in my online reviews of the C100, there is no perfect camera. You have to find the feature set that best suits your needs at a price point you can accept for the type of work you do.
The R5C has a great image. It’s definitely comparable to the C200 and probably technically better. But if you need the things the C200 offers then you still can’t go wrong there.
I'm honestly not quite sure right now. I still have a Komodo and an R5C and at the moment those two cameras are handling all of my video needs. If a job or something comes up that requires more than that, then I'll probably start considering something else to add to the lineup. If I had to choose between the two you mentioned though, I'd go for the Komodo X personally.
C200 was my fave camera. Shot so many fun stories with that! I’m on 3 c70s now. Love em. But really do miss that big boy

The R5c must be amazing if you are willing to give up the C200.
