      Just a baby, but it makes saw dust, and that is the idea.

    I'm new to woodworking but I heard it's a no no to back the wood out while the machine is on as it can catch the blade and pull it off the wheels exactly like what happened to you?

  • @SouthpawDavey
    @SouthpawDavey Před 4 lety +2

    have a look at some band saw set up vids. I run my blade so the the teeth are just out over the rubber on the wheel. Then you have blade guides inside the bottom casing and in the bit that goes up and down blade guard. the ones left and right must just kiss the blade and also the ones at the back. If you dont set it up you will get the sparks. My boy played around with mine it wouldnt cut straight and I got sparks lol..

      Oh the spanner is probably to tighten the drive belt. I think it will be alright when set up. Yeah shitty push stick I got one with mine.. For that money its great man.

    think the spanner is for the nuts on the fence..And i have been thinking about getting one only to cut meat,, eg,, cuts of meat and bones,, do they sell bigger ones ? and can you get more blades for them ? Great vlog by the way,, helped alot for what i am thinking of doing,,

      I am sure you can get bigger, blades should not be hard to find, these are used all over the world.

    I also live in Thailand and was considering the saw. It seemed somewhat better than the junk they sell on Lazada. I want to cut 1” up to 3 “ hardwood. Primarily for cutting curves in the hardwood. Would you recommend it for that? How do you like it one year later?

    • @workshoplife3740
      @workshoplife3740  Před 3 lety

      IMO this saw is a piece of junk, I don't even use it anymore. The motor is way to under powered to do what you want. If I were you I would be looking for something with a lot more power.

    German name but not necessarily made there. It's a cool toy for the price if you're doing little craft projects maybe.

      @workshoplife3740  Před 4 lety +1

      I am sure it was made in China for the price, that doesn't mean it is not a German company, Made in China doesn't always mean crap. This thing does seem very cheaply made though...lol

  • @kevinbradleygardeningandou9767

    Nice saw, but your pushing to fast and laminated wood is not ideal as the glue will dull the blade. I am glad you found out how to adjust the blade guard, it needs to be just slightly above the thickness of the wood you are cutting. There are or should be bearings or bearing blocks behind and to the sides of the blade to help with blade flex, flexing the blade is dangerous. If the blade is flexing you are feeding too fast. Ply wood is hard on band saw's but you can cut PVC pipe and soft woods best. I have two bandsaw's and i would not be without one, they are great for quick small cuts. PS don't over-tighten the blade just adjust your feed rate, the blade sounded tight enough. Ply woods and hard woods will dull a blade quickly, so you will need some spare blades. They have limitations but are very useful if you don't expect to much from them. Cheers.

    No where near setup correctly and you should always try and exit a cut not reverse out of one. As someone commented below I suggest watching some bandsaw advice videos.
