Did you notice that on each side of the lane leading to Carpenter's Hall were two museums. There were museums to the US Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. Dolly Madison's home is within walking distance as well as Franklin Square - the site of Franklin's home and bookbinding business. Christ's Church is a little further down the road. The 2nd National Bank houses a national portrait gallery containing images of the Founding Father''s. The Maritime Museum was in the general vicinity of Carpenter's Hall but has been moved to the Waterfront.
The museums are all great and so many of them. Barnes Foundation one of my favorite with large French impressionist presence, also the Rodin Museum that rivals the one in Paris
I am sure one day your niece will 😊 You’re a wonderful uncle. I treasure the memories of mine. Thank you for the video. Excited to visit Philly next week.
Andy's Awesome Adventures, oh it was wonderful. Thanks to you, first thing we did was to secure tickets to the Independence Hall, we went straight to Visitor Center when we got there. Spent a nice day there with lots of history learning. Beautiful city. Thank you!
Thanks Andy! Heading to Philly this June w/my 17 year old son. We are staying in the Old City and look forward to the sites you showed on your presentation.
We are doing spring break in Philly coming up in April. I have kids aged 8, 10, 10 and am nervous this historical stuff, which I love, will be not be received well. So the shots of your niece were valuable. She was bored for much as expected but was smiling walking among the statues at the Nat Constitution Center. So the NCC moved up the priority list. This has tempered my expectations and reminded me about traveling with kids - keep 'em feed and don't do too much. We will spread out what you did over a few days. Thx
All i can say is......Thank you mate.I am here for 1 day in June and this video is the best i have found on CZcams in giving me info on what to do,Great work Andy.....John ( i have just looked through your channel and edited this,You have some amazing videos and i cant wait to watch as i want to visit most,As you will see on my channel we have been to lots of the same places,You have a new SUB here.Fantastic)
10:47 No it’s not silenced forever, the city of Philadelphia has an annual bell ringing every 4th of July where descendants of the founders place their hands on the bell and it rings 13 times 🔔
you missed ... The Bank of North America The First Bank The Second Bank The Federal Reserve Building Christ Church Library Hall Ben's House Elfreth's Alley I know most of this stuff, I used to be a tour guide in Philly for 7 years :)
He missed it? Maybe he chose 15 places, which is what the title suggests. These were chosen for proximity as it clearly states you might be able to do most of this in a day. I've been a guide almost 20 years, which has nothing to do with the argument. He did a fantastic job and also a lot of research. By the way, any guide would also know "Ben's House" is merely a steel replication of what use use to be, and not his actual house. Certainly worthy of missing."
Very good video! I love it! I'm actually going to Philadelphia in two weeks. Are there any other places you would recommend to visit? It's my first time going there and very excited!
So many stupid videos about what to see in Philadelphia always forget to mention that Franklin is buried At 5th and arch and is accessible 24 hours A-day 7 days a week.Thank you much appreciated.

Thank you-I appreciate it!
Hello from Kansas 🇺🇸
I live just outside of Philly, yet barely go there. I should convince my parents to take us to these places some time

Yes, at those ages, they probably won't be too interested in history or historical places. Maybe they'd like the Franklin Institute museum?
Been thinking about taking a road trip along the east coast from Chicago to Miami, definitely going to all the places you suggested
That's great-go for it!
Great Video. Thank you for posting.

So why didn’t you make a video we could learn from?
Ben Franklin was just the first to suggest dat light savings time, but it wasn't actually implemented until awhile after his death
12:22: I always more interested in history than popular culture as a kid. Still the caste to this day.
Really helpful video. I'll only have 1 1/2 days in Philadelphia myself. Was this in October? The weather seemed great.
Thanks! It was actually right around July 4 a couple of years ago. Hot and humid.
Very good video! I love it! I'm actually going to Philadelphia in two weeks. Are there any other places you would recommend to visit? It's my first time going there and very excited!
Thanks! Aside from the historical stuff, there's also the Franklin Institute and the Rocky statue near the stairs of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

0:57: Also the site of the equally important constitutional convention.
I am making a history doc. I was wondering if I can use some of the visuals. I will credit you of course. Thank you so much!
Please email me at andy@andyteachtravel.com to discuss this further. Thank you!
