Hello, Jess! I am a player of the Likka Sunavalon deck from China (OCG region). I have benefited a lot from watching many of your videos and competitions. Thank you very much! However, there are some details in your combos that I think can be optimized, which are commonly used by Chinese players. I would like to discuss them with you. (1). Single Loci opening, the first time Jasmine should search for Rikka Princess. Then Jasmine release the Healer and special summon Lonefire Blossom, then special summon Rikka Princess from hand. Then use Rikka Princess and Jasmine to link summon Sylvan Dancepione. Assume that the effect of Sylvan Dancepione have not been get any plants. Then use the Lonefire Blossom to release the Dryas to special summon the Petal. Then use Petal to search the Snowdrop. Then use the Sylvan Dancepione turn the Lonefire Blossom and the Petal to level-4 and xyz summon Rikka Queen Strenna. Then use Rikka Queen Strenna to get Lonefire Blossom back from graveyard. Then, with the Snowdrop effect, release the Rikka Queen Strenna and special summon herself and the Lonefire Blossom. Then use Lonefire Blossom to release herself and special summon Mudan. Mudan can get Konkon and Sheet. The benefit of doing this is that there can be Sheet and magic unit for Hyperyton, which enables us to deal with a more comprehensive situation. (Sylvan Dancepione is the key to get magic xyz unit.) (2). If you want to obtain the Therion, you only need to search for Rikka Princess with Jasmine and special summon Rikka Princess. Then link Jasmine and the Healer to summon the second Jasmine. Then use Rikka Princess to link summon Dryas. Then use the Sunseed Twin to banish herself and the Dryas to special summon the Healer from graveyard. At this time, search for Therion Lily Borea. Finally, use Lily and Jasmine to link summon Sylvan Dancepione. It becomes the same situation as (1), with an additional Therion King Regulus. (3). After 1203, using Rosemary can relatively easily obtain Naturia Bamboo Shoot (compared to before). This makes it easier for us to deal with enemies such as the Runick. Compared to (Therion King Regulus+Naturia Rosewhip), there are more initial hand cards that can be achieved. And there is a possibility of defending against "Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring" and "Nibiru". This is another valid option! I think either combo can be justified and it may be format depending, my preference is the combo variant I've posted due to the way it plays through interruption and the use of benghalancer reborn in the grind game especially having it as a better tribute target as you're not ending on strenna either way! New Aroma cards change the decks combos entirely so I won't comment on that yet 😅
I started learning how to play Yu-Gi-Oh a couple of months ago thanks to my friend being excited to teach me, and my boyfriend introduced me to Master Duel, which is where I learned about and discovered Rikkas. I started with a makeshift Aromage Rikka deck and wanted something stronger, to which my boyfriend told me you had won with a Rikka Sunavalon deck and introduced me to your channel. It's a lot to learn for a newbie like myself, but you're so relaxing to listen to and really inspiring! Your explanation of combos gets straight to the point and is super beginner-friendly. Thank you so so much for all the work you've put into this and your other videos! I'm so looking forward to one day looking back and seeing myself having grown more proficient at Rikka Sunavalon combos thanks to your work!
Its amazing that nobody talks about how free Kashtira Fenrir is in this deck. It replaces itself, giving you fodder for 141 and small world, and is a perfect bridge with loci and lily borea. It doesn't even conflict with dai, since you can tribute summon it later, which conveniently works around the plant lock.
I think the main concern is that the deck already struggles a lot with space, and fenrir is hard to justify in place of other handtraps or board breakers. Not saying it's a bad idea, just for for thought

Coincidentally, I've recently delved into the TCG and am currently comparing the differences of Rikka decks in both environments. I've thoroughly enjoyed your detailed and thrilling videos. However, while exploring, I've stumbled upon some unique combos and deck constructions developed by OCG players that seem to be lesser-known in the TCG community. For example, a single loci as the starting hand The ending can actually be bigger than the one in the video (without changing the build, specifically, by using the Dancepione). I very much look forward to sharing different experiences with you in different circumstances.
I would be super interested in seeing some of these combos! I've seen some unique OCG lists, including one utilizing Sunseed Shadow, and it would be super cool to see what other stuff you've developed over there.

Comp YGO content like this seems like it's badly needed especially for us new MD players since Konami will never put out proper in game resources to properly learn a deck in game. Massive props for the content as its not just a streamlined like 2 combo's it's also showing those strange situations that can sometimes happen and how you go about thinking about them. Only thing missing is the decklist.

This video opened my mind so much Things like if you have jasmine + any monster on board and princess in hand you can make strenna , or basic things like sending borea for cost of it's eff even tributing regulus with jasmine eff to access locci. What I use to study the deck is thinking in the best board for my hand (even if looks bricky) and practice Also, most of my match ups can never full combo because I got interrupted 😅 Thank you for making this video 🥰 now do a tutorial about how to play with thoose nails and double sleeves 😂
The aroma cards are finally coming to Master Duel! I'm hoping you do a new video! If not, that's ok too! ( obviously ) You have plenty of content where I could find it I'm sure.
All of these combos are still possible post the 2024 January 1st banlist, you must just add an Aromage Laurel in your main deck and a second Sunavalon Melias in your extra deck. The differences in the main combo: Dryas at first summons Thrusher and the first Jasmine must summon Lauren from the deck, you summon a second Jasmine using Laurel and after he gives you lp you get 2 searches of both Jasmines (Lily and Mudan), then you use Lily and one Jasmine to summon a Melias, revive loci, use him and the second Jasmine to summon a second Melias, revive Loci again and then banish one of the Melias with twin to revive a Jasmine, then use loci to summon Healer to get the third Jasmine search of Teardrop. The rest of the combos work the same
that's insane i thought the banlist ruined the deck but i'm so happy to see it's still going well what do you think we can add in the extra deck to fill the 2 remaining slots would it be worth playing daphne or kanzashi ?
Watching these new and refined combos made me realise how badly i was using my resources and what I could've done better even by having a mediocre hand. You're making me realise there are endless possibilities that the deck has to surprise your opponents. Plus, Rikka is my all time favourite archetype and deck to play in general. I LOVE Plants ❤ i'm planning to go to YCS Bologna next week. Will you come there? Also, while i was seeing your combos, i was curious about the HT you're currently using (besides Ash and Imperm): Droll on main deck and Veiler. Do you think HTs are more valid than Board Breakers this format? Should I still keep Thrust and Talent as side options? Thank you so much in advance! 😊
Great video, I learned a lot. I would really love if you posted a vid on how to play with bad hands i.e. Twin in hand or no Loci. In this vid you said Twin in hand isn't that big of a deal but on my practice so far I've found it almost instantly kills the combo unless you also hard draw a starter. I'm sure there are lines I'm not seeing so a followup vid would be great

@@tora148 Aromage Jasmine is the original main deck counterpart to Aromaseraphy Jasmine (the link), which grants you an additional normal summon of a plant while your lp are higher than your opponent's, allowing you to summon cactus bouncer (who can only be normal summoned) even if you've already used your normal for the turn. This will become a fairly common thing to side into once the new aroma cards release in February.

it's literally the meme with the 2 castles XD. Laby is more toxic and can win on the spot with virus/barrier but it loses hard to ash, also you are a floodgate deck(cringe). Rikka sunavalon can play through ht's (ash on sowing still sucks but it has many different lines) but it's hard to master and you pretty much lose to the same things as manadium
Both Decks are very different. Currently Labrynth is played a lot more with Furniture Stuff und Handtraps, the Floodgate build is less popular. Even people start cutting Virus. I play both and for me they are both equally hard to master. Rikka is a lot to learn to get to know the combo lines and play your hands very well. For Labrynth you need to be very careful when you interact with your opponent. It's usually all about the chain links and playing very cautios. For me, Rikka is fun because you have so much Gas and can push through Handtraps / Disruptions and set up a nearly unbreakable board. However, the deck is very tight and you don't have many options except the non engine. Labrynth is fun to me because it's very interactive and you play a lot more with your opponent instead of just pushing down your combo. You have so many different ways to build your deck and to counter the current meta. However, it is very exhausting for me to play since if you miss the correct timing for your interaction it may loses you the game. It feels like you are most of the time on the edge and need to be very careful with what you activate at what time. Hope this helps your decision making. In terms of costs i think Rikka is actually cheaper than Lab right now (including S:P, Typhoon, Chaos Angel, Extrav and having to play multiples etc)
Hello jessica, I have a ruling quistion regarding the rosewhip lock. Rosewhip says that your opponent can only activate one spell/trap. But if you negate the activation does it still count as the one spell/trap they can use for that turn?
They can still activate 1 more spell or trap. But if you negate it with Regulus, since it negates the effect rather than the activation, your opponent cannot activate anything else, as long as Rosewhip remains face-up on the field.
hi jessica, great video! I have a question for you. If I have kon kon on the field and I have no plant monsters on the field, can I still tribute an opponent's monster as a result of mudan?
lol ya shed be going second, imperm the board then evenly, they leave a face up defense monster, normal twin make dryas swing, dryas effect summon healer, make dance, dance effect hits mudan + petal into full combo lol
The endboard is stronger than other combo decks, and there's room for a lot of non-engine, but it struggles to play through multiple hand traps if you don't open lily borea.

Worth it. Plant seems so underwhelming, which is the fun part. Ending on strenna and a few cards is so huge for people who know plant.
I think the issue is no one knows how to do them. She has literally topped and won multiple champions with plants

Hello jessica, I have a ruling quistion regarding the rosewhip lock. Rosewhip says that your opponent can only activate one spell/trap. But if you negate the activation does it still count as the one spell/trap they can use for that turn?
They can still activate 1 more spell or trap. But if you negate it with Regulus, since it negates the effect rather than the activation, your opponent cannot activate anything else, as long as Rosewhip remains face-up on the field.

lol ya shed be going second, imperm the board then evenly, they leave a face up defense monster, normal twin make dryas swing, dryas effect summon healer, make dance, dance effect hits mudan + petal into full combo lol

The endboard is stronger than other combo decks, and there's room for a lot of non-engine, but it struggles to play through multiple hand traps if you don't open lily borea.
