I really hate the execution of Roger
They made him look evil and missed the point about his character he is supposed to give the feeling of mystery and the will of freedom and Netflix didn't make it even close to that
Also the fact that Garp was there leading the execution just felt wrong to me

I think Luffy isn’t dumb and care free enough like he is in the anime and I agree he seems under powered. Looking forward to him fighting Arlong. Zoro is brilliant. I think Nami embodies her character, but he hair looks like a wig in some scenes. I’ve watched the second episode too, and I don’t like how they’ve changed the story so far.
Keep watching it man i’m telling you.I’m on episode 1000 plus and it’s my favourite show i have finished countless anime’s and ordinary shows and one piece is by far my favourite. i’m 17 and it makes me cry all the time. you get very attached to the characters. One piece has gotten me through rough times lol so if anyone is struggling and likes anime I suggest One piece or just in general. the show has given me a general new perspective on life it teaches you to value your friendships ,and loved ones and do good on your will and no matter how hard the task you can accomplish it with enough spirit and will power. That to me is what luffy Embodies. :)❤

I watched all the Live Action episode in one sitting when it premiered at midnight. I loved the actress who played Nami, hopefully she grows on you. I respect your opinion on it and I think you gave it a fair review.

Main fav is Ace 🧡 then on Strawhat will be Sanji 💯 and chopper coz he’s soooo cute. I finished all the episodes in one night. 😅 it’s good yes but I felt like their back story are summarized and got done too fast 😅 it is very difficult coz I keep comparing it to the anime like you did! Can’t wait for the new episodes!

This definitely the best live action anime adaptation we’ve had so far compared to all the other terrible adaptations.
But the anime definitely ten times better, and I have a lot of nitpicks that are major. Overal I’ll give it 7/10 im on episode 6 right now. Maybe it’ll go up
I think the season will end at the Arlong Park Arc or Loguetown Arc just based on the title cards I’ve seen for this show so basically it’d cover the entirety of the East Blue Saga or the start of the Reverse Mountain Arc which to me seems like a good way to end season 1
1 thing I swear they better do for this adaptation at some point in this season or at the end of the season is play the original Opening 1 song of the anime in some way like an orchestral or cinematic version of Opening 1 just to pay homage to Oda and the OG fans that’d be the icing on the cake, if they did do this PLEASE no one tell me cause I want to see and hear it for myself if it does happen since I haven’t finished episode 1 yet
Favorite character outside of the Straw Hats is a toss up between Law and Katakuri. Favorite straw hat Zoro.
My favorite one piece character is whitebeard because when he died he was still standing thats how strong he was and he wasn’t even in his prime.if prime whitebeard were to show up in one piece if he became a marine then they would need Luffy zoro nami Boa robin franky mihawk and shanks to defeat him
I actually think the show gets progressivly better once Usopp story gets introduced, so keep at it! My favorite non Strawhat Crew character is probably Law!
Franky is number 1 zoro and brook are great too but outside of straw hats id say love kid and law and hancock she is so funny
Im on episode 5 now and so far they did solid with things but its netflix this needed maybe a disney plus level budget but so far probably the best anime adaptation on netflix love zoros stuff the most but every is solid.

I share a few of your concerns about the live action.
Roger was fine. I don't know how much more on screen we'd even see of him so I can't complain.
Shanks just missed the mark for me.
Just doesn't have that aura.
Mans one of the most beloved characters with like 10 mins of anime screen time for a reason.
Nami is by far the weakest of the strawhat actors for me. Followed by Luffy. Sometimes he hits it just right and sometimes he misses the mark.
Zoro, Sanji, and Usopp are all terrific tho. And your right Zoro stole the whole first episode. Would watch of you reviewed the rest of the series.
They move a lot of stuff around so even knowing the story this take feels fresh and new. Lots of nods and Easter eggs. 👍

I'm on episode 251 of the one piece anime and enjoying it a lot, but I unfortunately had to give up on the live action 45 minutes into ep1. It all seemed so cheap-the writing, the costumes, the acting, the direction, the SFX, etc. Idk if it gets better through the rest of the season and i just gave up too early, but I was very uncomfortable very quick. Bummer.
I just sold my Franky a few months ago for 80 now I see his PPG skyrocket 😭
Hi SkittleRampage, love you videos. Watching them everyday lol. I would like to point out that funko has been modifying every single pop in the current one piece restock wave. Beside those you have mentioned, check out Boa Hancock as well. The flower on her dress has changed when compared to the original pop. Kinda feeling sad that Funko did all these little modifications.
The kid that plays luffy loves that role and is so honored that hes doing pretty good. Shanks and roger definitely did not do it for me. But yes i just love how much passion and love was put into it that any random fan or pirate lover will absolutely love thos adaption. It legit almost looks as good as a pirates of th carribean but more bloody and goofy
One piece is my favorite anime of all time, however, I felt the first episode was kind of slow. The show really picks up on episode 2. I really don’t like how much Garp is on involved in this show though.

The thing that really bothered me by luffy is the fact that the kid version didn’t have an accent but the grow luffy has a big Spanish accent maybe that’s what was also bothering you. And I can’t accept the shoes haha 😂

Favorite character from One Piece is Luffy easily, but if not a current Straw Hat, then Yamato is my choice!
I can see why Oda himself chose Inaki to play Luffy. He nails the role perfectly.
I can't really agree there at the moment until I 100% finish, but we all have our opinions, of course.

The baroque works mr 7 was actually from anime/manga but it was off screen when they tried recruiting zoro ..we only hear about it and oda talks about it on sbs Interview I think..it was a change but not a change at same time..just something we didn't get to see

@@SkittleRampage yup just an addition basically like you said...and there's also good amount of references to stuff from the show..like you can faintly hear a certain song playing in background I think during 2nd episode I had to rewatch to even catch that so I thought it was a cool Easter egg
Yea i don’t really 100% like it but definitely 10x way better than what i was expecting. The only other live action I’ve watched was death note and that disappointed me so much expected that with one piece but exceeded it
I haven’t fully watched the show, I’ve only watched the first 35 minutes cause I want to watch it with my Dad and uncle, but me and my Dad are already catching up with another show so after we finish that show, I wanted to watch One Piece live action with him and my uncle, my Dad and uncle aren’t One Piece fans I’m pretty sure they never heard of it and they doesn’t really watch animated shows but I think they’d like the live action Netflix adaptation, and I think it’d be a good show for us to watch together I think they’d be interested in the plot, but from the first 35 minutes I’ve seen I was enjoying it and wanted to keep watching it but I had to force my self to put it on hold until me and my Dad finish the other show, Koby though I was really liking the actor did a good job playing his character just like in the anime and manga, Zoro I actually liked too I think the actor is doing a great job so far, Nami I didn’t finish the episode I only saw here in the boat and bar scenes but the actress seemed solid from what I’ve seen of her so far, and Luffy I was actually enjoying I think the actor does well with playing Luffy sure it seems weird to see a character like Luffy in live action cause of how idk how to really say this but Luffy is a very cartooney character that usually would only fit in something animated or drawn like the anime and manga, but the actor I felt is doing pretty good so far, im pretty sure the actor that plays as Luffy is an actual One Piece fan or he became a fan after he got the role cause he did prepare himself for role and read the manga and watched the anime for research of how he should play Luffy so that’s good that he was committed to making the fans happy since he knows how big of a deal the manga and anime are to fans, and I thought that was so respectful to us fans that he really wanted to make us happy and not let us down like some other actors that get anime live action adaptation roles but they don’t care of the original work and are just doing it cause it’s a big franchise and to get paid, like Nat Wolf as Light in the live action fare age Death Note movie he said he never read or watched the original manga or anime he heard of it and only knew it was popular, and I think he apparently read the manga and watched the anime to “prepare for the role” when I doubt that since he wasn’t even Light he was just a wimp in that movie, but this guy playing as Luffy seems like he understands the assignment and actually did his research to prepare for the role to good job to him on that, the Gum Gum CGI kinda looks weird but I’m not gonna complain about it I think it’s passable and either way would be hard to wake that look 100% good so I think they did a solid job using the CGI for the Gum Gum powers, overall I’m pretty interested in it so far and I can’t wait to continue it with my Dad and uncle tomorrow

I'm currently on episode 4 of One Piece (2023), I love it, obviously not better than the anime and manga but I love all the straw hats so far, my favorite character is Nami right now, I love Koby, Garp and Shanks. Zoro's fights were amazing, they got Helmeppo perfect, I like how they introduced Baroque Works in the first episode so it's leading up to a potential season 2. My only 2 problems so far are that I don't like the Merry's design and I don't like really like Buggy, his episode was pretty good though. It was much better than I was expecting and where I'm at now I'm gonna say it's 8.5/10
QOTD: It's gotta be Luffy, he's my favorite character ever, besides him, Law, Robin, Zoro, Sanji, Jinbe, Ace, Sabo, and Whitebeard

I’m hoping this live action adaptation of One Piece will get non anime and manga fans to convert into being anime and manga fans through this show, especially if they loved the first season and want to know what happens after they can simply pick up the manga volumes or read them on the Shonen Jump app/Manga Plus app, or they watch the anime, I know the show and anime/manga will be different but still if someone that wasn’t a One Piece fan before this gets so invested that they watch the anime or read the manga would be a good accomplishment especially if they’re that invested into One Piece after season 1 of this show, even if the anime and manga are over 1,000 episodes/chapters long if they really are that invested they’ll put up with it and maybe they’ll fully convert into being an anime fan in general after this show
As a new one piece watcher, I like that the live action doesn't have the overdramatic anime crying and yelling. That kinda makes the anime annoying.

One Piece Fandom can definitely be toxic. I don't blame you. I have said I like OP a lot but would have a few small criticisms and have had them lose their minds on me. I've never been attacked before that for actually liking a show.

QOTD: I’m a basic ass mf and Zoro is my top favorite character(or one of my top favorites) so it’s gotta be him, but if we’re not talking straw hats I’m a huge fan of kuzan aokiji, he’s easily top 3(and sometimes top 1)
Now the live action doesn’t really seem like something I’d enjoy, I love one piece to death and I feel like it’s just not up to my taste. I’m quite glad people are somewhat enjoying it as the crew seems solid but idk, maybe I’ll check it out eventually but it’s gonna take some convincing

I think at the end of the day, regardless if you like/love/dislike/hate it, it changes nothing with the anime/manga - it’s just a separate adaptation and if it creates more fans of One Piece in general, then it’s really win win… or does it actually make One Piece Funko drops even more painful 🤔
