      No real innovation from Samsung in 4 years!!! Huawei would have definitely finished off Samsung like their CEO said, if the US had played fair. Samsung doesn't deserve to be a market leader. Makes phone ideally suited for teenage girls.

      Yeah mine which I've had since December of last year (which is when they have the best prices aka best buy) recently was dropped slightly on the hinge and the inner screen developed bleeding OLED down the center and started popping up slightly. I would never recommend someone buy these phones without a great deal like I got or if they just have money to burn. I'm happy to still have the front screen though as I still can use this as a normal phone so 🤙

    I'm with you Dave on the prices. The reason, at least here in the US, that the prices are still high is like many people are saying, Samsung isn't being pressured by any other maker.
    Oppo, Huawei, and Xiaomi are not only not marketed here, but even phones that should be compatible to work here are getting blacklisted by the major carriers.
    Google, Apple, and what ever Oppo rebranded foldable 1+ has coming are our only real options, and I doubt either of these companies are going to sell them and any less of a price than what Samsung charges.

It is a special film Samsung suggested not to be taken off. Not sure either if you can apply your own film or must it be done by Samsung. His back screen(small one) is also cracked, it turns out to be a very expensive screen to replace, it costs over AUD $500. His accidental warranty only covers the foldable screen. Incremental updates are good... that means that they are reaching a point where these devices are reaching a tech saturation point. Also they can share more components with the previous gen, showing a price down trend in the future.
    Not changing screen sizes a lot is also a good thing: One of the biggest things they need to focus on is app compliance to this new screen shape. Google and other apps can now spend more time trying to make their apps better adapted to this display size.

    Why do people expect foldables to be cheaper? They re literally more difficult to make and have unique features. Like fold4, it is like 3 phones. I think naturally foldables should be more expensive than any other flagships

    • @car-bq
      @car-bq Před rokem +1

      I agree. Also in regards to the crease, these devices are some of the only(if not the only) ones that can stay partially folded. Other foldables achieve almost no crease by letting the screen bend over a bigger area. Making it hard to be partially open or even have water resistance for that matter

    After almost 3 years, Samsung had every opportunity to make the Fold 4 their next flagship, no compromise device. Better ergonomics, less crease and better looking. It’s still pretty much a Fold 3 which is a damn shame.

    i dont like the trend of the unfolded screen approaching a square aspect ratio, that's like the screen you're going to want for video watching and gaming so why make it worse for both of those, just give me like a short and wide boi folded screen and then when you unfold it you get a nice 16:9 screen. or just stop with the folding nonsense and give me a phone with a large and usable aspect ratio like the nexus 6 again

I truly believe its not a matter of technology but rather more holding back technology to feed future iterations.
