I say let Gort deal with the Decepticons in Transformers Prime, I believe immensely he would give Megatron quite a hard time. Especially if he was made of Neutronium armor (Star Trek, The Doomsday Machine).
Now you have opened up a can of worms. Was colorizing this black and white classic necessary? In color it spoils the whole mood of The Day the Earth Stood Still. It was the use of shadow and lighting that gave the film it's punch. Almost film noire. I have also seen the colorized version of the original The Thing from another planet. God awful! The mood of isolation and foreboding was created again by black and while photography and the use of shadows. to create FEAR and Anxiety in the viewer. But the most egregious use of colorization is the colorized version of Earth vs. The Flying Saucers. It looked like shit and totally ruined a great mid-budget SciFi. I know you love the genre, but PLEASE! skip the colorized versions of these classics of SciFi. Thanks to your translation of the Zanti language, I am almost ready to board my ship, and take off!
I have to say, that I'm not a fan of colorizing B&W films. I'm an old film buff and see it as somewhat of a crime to mess with films like that. It may be an interesting novelty, but I say "NO!" I didn't colorize this video, but simply came across it online. I used it for two reasons - One, because it fit nicely with the color War of the Worlds clips. And two, because I've had troubles with CZcams not letting me post various clips of films and shows, for "copyright" reasons, so they say. I thought using the colorized version would keep them off my back, and it seemed to have worked. So, believe me, I'm no fan of colorized films and agree with you 100%. There are as I am sure you know at least four technicolor scifi movies from the 1950s. War of the Worlds, This Island Earth, Forbidden planet, iThe Queen of Outer Space. (More satirical than serious)
@@toddholmes4480 - I love every one of those films. However, I haven't seen Queen of Outer Space in many, many years, not since I was a kid. I remember it being campy and, of course, Zsa Zsa Gabor. But, I love those campy films, as well. I grew up on them on Creature Features and Chiller Theater every Saturday night!

Fortunately (Or Unfortunately) Ted Turner beat you to it. What I like about The Queen of Outer Space was the way MGM basically just reused the same costumes and sets, from Forbidden Planet. Definitely a candy-colored eye fest. In fact, I think the look inspired the movies in the 1980's (New Wave) For example "Earth Girls are Easy" Obviously NOT a serious scifi film. I was born in 1957. As I grew up in my childhood years, it was "Rockets and Ray Guns". Remember, the space race was on.

Remember the big joke that people were wondering - Is he going to colorize the beginning and end of The Wizard of Oz too?! I'm surprised he didn't! Ha! Those Forbidden Planet uniforms were recycled so many times, including in George Pal's The Time Machine. I was born just two years after you entered the world, so I was right behind you with the things that I fell in love with. I was excited by the space race and would watch every launch, from a time I could understand what was going on. I had four older siblings, two of which were into sci-fi and monster movies and the space race goings-on. So, I had a couple encouraging older brothers and sisters that influenced me. My mom was an old classic film buff, including old monster movies, so that was also a big influence on me. My love for film never left me.🎥
