It begs the question as to how they were able to repair and launch the spacecraft from the planet of the apes with only hours left before earth's certain destruction. How did they manage to launch it?
"Freedom is an illusion. All you lose is the emotion of pride" the coldness of this truth makes Colossus one of the scariest cinematic baddies to ever appear on film and the inspiration for all subsequent out-of-control-AI villains (looking at you SkyNet). The script writers for this film were so far ahead of their time that they might actually be literal time travelers sent to warn us about the future considering this movie was released in 1970.
Agreed. It's uncanny how prophetic it may actually be.
Random fic idea: Siren Head as the god of the Morlocks.
Highly entertaining!🖖
Coming in 2026! WORLD CONTROL!!! Because it's fun to obey the machine!!!
🤔😶😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂!!! Awesome! Liked, shared and already subscribed. You're definitely on to something. Well done. Keep 'em comin'.
Thanks, Tony! Glad you liked it😁🖖
Dam it morlockmeat 🤣 I gotta say that is the biggest toilet tank I have ever seen. Seems like that bathroom would be more futuristic instead of something from the 50s. I've never seen a toilet tank that was as tall as someone's shoulders. You'd think they would be more conservative about water in space. Of course then again this was back when nobody cared. Yes I am a weirdo I notice stuff like that 😁
Not a weirdo - just observant! 😆🖖
Toilet humor never fails!
😂It keeps everybody grounded.😆
@ morlockmeat - Someone once called it : " The great equalizer."
@@tonysantiago255 - Ha-ha! I've called it that myself. 😆🚽
I constructed the entire clips of the voice of Colossus,, thank you for the isolation (as best as you could) this is much more focused without much other background noises
Thanks! You're very welcome!
i just love that incredibly slow charge up sound.
I agree! It seems so awesomely powerful. I took just the heat ray and isolated and highlighted the sounds, just for fun and the awesomeness of it, here: czcams.com/video/yytVZ3h2rkI/video.html
Still some of the best and most intimidating weapon SFX in history.
Absolutely!
Sou does like The Twilight Zone.
I saw this commercial as an eight-year-old boy and I was captured-I couldn't wait to see it. In reading comments below, I get the sense that none of the people commenting was alive or old enough to have seen this in light of _The Twilight Zone,_ _The Outer Limits,_ and _Alfred Hitchcock Presents,_ so they don't understand that there was nothing in this that was remotely reminiscent of horror and, of course, once the series started airing, nobody felt disappointed because it wasn't very much like the promo. The only thing the promo was meant to do was to pique interest, to intrigue the imagination. It did that very well.
I agree. Many who comment may never have known life WITHOUT Star Trek. I remember it being like nothing we've seen before. It was, after all, geared for "adults". My older brother got in trouble with my parents for letting me watch it. This was during the show's original airing, not the early 70's when it was on daily at dinner time. And the effects were top notch at the time. It was pure eye candy. The promos were from before the show aired, building curiosity. Nobody knew anything about it yet. I remember how exciting it was. 😃
4:44 epic
The sound effects are timeless.😊

Basically an early version of Q. Power corrupts. A running theme in ST. One of the worst crimes in TV history was to cut off TOS at the 3rd season.
I completely agree.
Only Morlockmeat can you see things like this. 😁
😆
James R. Kirk and Gary Mitchell trying to bean each other with bigger and bigger rocks always reminded me of Bugs and Elmer chasing each other with bigger and bigger guns in "Rabbit of Seville."
😆Exactly!
😂
Spock does have a heart. This advert for Star Trek is appalling as others have said.
Of course he does. But these ads were made before the show aired and the Spock character hadn't been established yet. It only means that he didn't show emotions in the pilot episode, in which Kirk told Spock to at least act like you've got a heart. 🖖
could these sounds by any chance be mixed with the 2005 Spielberg war of the worlds tripod sounds? whatever you think of that film, those sounds have become absolutely iconic too. (and Gene Barry and Anne Robinson make a cameo appearance in it!)
I couldn't hear any trace of these sounds being mixed in or used in the Spielberg version. Although those were pretty cool, also. I loved seeing Gene Barry and Anne Robinson show up at the end of the film! A kind of tribute to the original.
@@morlockmeat sorry, I didn't phrase that very well! I meant that is it possible to mix them together in a youtube video? you are right they definitely aren't in the Spielberg version!
@@philsmodelmaking2260 - I would certainly try, but I'm not able to get a clean sample of of the Spielberg heat ray sounds from the film. There always seems to be music mixed in along with other sounds.
By your command, imperious leader; all Cylon battlewings awaiting further orders…
Well we know all life is based on carbon ... or silicon. But is it possible life could exist in a celluloid form? Celluloid Life is a theoretical possibility! And now we are living proof!
😆😆😆
1:21 fav part.
You sure you want the flamethrower, General?
😆😆
So many people making brain dead comments without the slightest clue about what The Time Machine was actually about. H.G. Wells was so concerned about the social and class divisions of Victorian Society that he wrote this story, in which the rich and poor had become so separate over the years that they had evolved differently. The rich became the Eloi - carefree, docile, child like and helpless. But the poor became the Morlocks. Living underground and preying on the Eloi.
I have to re-watch this classic. I can see how it scared audiences back then.
It sure scared me as a kid. I've often wondered how audiences from back then must have taken in this film. It must have been like nothing they've ever seen. Sort of like Star Wars was to us. It's a very re-watchable film, so give an another watch. It's a treat for the eyes and ears!😃
Spock you heartless bastard
That was fantastic. Thank you for posting
Thanks back! You are quite welcome! 😊🖖
This movie totally scared me as a ten year old. We are now at this point.
And it’s scarier in real life.😢
@@morlockmeat it is here. We humans need to stop all of this automation of our lives.
@@VictorianMaid99- Beside the AI problems we’re facing, we’ve made our entire society completely dependent on software. With one extreme and unpredictable burst from a solar flare or a gamma ray burst from a distant star or any extreme electromagnetic pulse, that’s the end of everything we’ve dedicated to software. Such scary thoughts, indeed. 😮
@@morlockmeat I agree. Electric cars are a typical example. Let's say you have a car for a few years and then the manufacturer goes out of business. How would you get the next up grade? The car is completely dependent on software. There is no "manual mode".
@@VictorianMaid99 - Exactly. And that's just one example.
Thank you for sharing images and information about this important piece of television history!
🙏Thanks so much! Glad you liked it. You can find more info about this production here, if you haven't already: www.colemanzone.com/Time_Machine_Project/project.htm
This looks neato, maybe I'll watch it.

I don't think they ever said beam me up, it was always energize
They said beam me up in various ways. But, it was "Beam me up, Scotty" that was never said. 😊
Was waiting for Fortunate Son to start playing on the nacelle start up😂😂

Now we know what happened to Bailey!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
How cool to have this!
And now, we all do! 😊
After this episode aired - my brother & I began to play “ Zanti”. Kind of wrestling mixed w “the floor is lava “ Mixed w a bottomless pit The scariest element of this episode is the acting of the lead female - terrifying & horrendous
Ha! It sounds like you and your brother were a lot like me and my brother as kids. We did the same kind of stuff. 😄 For me, after seeing this episode, it was Bruce Dern's terrified reaction while the Zanti crawled up his arm, and hearing his terrifying screams over the radio that scared the socks off me. I was left with wondering how the heck did they kill him? What horrifying thing could they have done to him? He very well could have died of sheer fright, but that was still enough to creep the crap outta me! 🥺
😮
Almost perfect, you were showing a warp core conduit from the next refit upgrade that should not have been there yet
My bad… 😊
Gosh, that spacey sound effect at the end there was really neat-o!
😄
😅🤣😆😎
S'chn T'gai Spock
Always liked the sound effects for the film 😁
Paul Frees did the voice in this movie, and also for the film Atlantis, the lost Continent. He also starred in the original film film the Thing from another World alongside Robert Cornthwaite who played Dr. Carrington in the film. Robert Cornthwaite also appears in Colossus in a very small part.
He does, indeed. On Paul Frees, he also appeared in George Pal’s War of the Worlds.
I love this ship ❤😍👍🖖
Me too! 🖖
This would have been her therd refit when she was 15 years old.
