Alright, that arrangement sounds exactly like something I would have made in the 80's. Even back then, I could never get those synths to sound like a pro recording, and never figured out which processing gear should be applied. Can you help explain what can be used to refine the sound?

Same sort of tricks as today, compressors, delays, reverbs, saturation. I didn’t use any of that as I don’t have outboard like that and wanted the challenge of only using my 80/90s gear

@@StephenTallamyMusic that's what I thought. Too poor to have those back then.

@@dorespianobookpage433 it’s incredible that we have that sort of thing just built into our DAWs today!

so what is a 303 drum kit? My brain associates 303 with bass synth

I am surprise you stick with the JV factory presets and made a pretty good remix with them. Considering i tend to use the expansion cards to add more flavor.
    This is great.

Thanks! I’m kinda stuck with the factory tones at the moment as for some reason my JV1080 refuses to load expansion cards (either internal ones or PCM slot).

@@StephenTallamyMusic Sound like one of the caps that can load in the expansions might be busted. I hear similar stories overall of the expansion holders not working over time.

@@DalekEnclave123 yeah, I need to open it up some time. At first I thought it was caps in the expansion board but then the PCM cards didn’t work either so I will have to go hunting.

Jack Black, legend, who wrote the track “Peaches” for Bowser to sing in The Mario Movie using a chord progression and melody that fits perfectly with Never Gonna Give You Up!
