I'm really liking One UI more and more with each update every year.
Yeah I hope that all of there apps will fully support the themes now and that they actually finish it up properly, one ui 4 was really unpolished when it came to the color palette stuff.

Let me get this clear. No one and by 'no one', I am also talking about even those with Samsung's name on their channel and their website claiming to be a platform dedicated to Samsung, has made a video on One UI 5.0 so detailed and beautiful as you. Thanks for this video. Until now, I kind of disliked Samsung for bringing very few to no changes in their major update but, this makes me realize that they indeed upgraded on a lot of things, though pretty minor changes, still great.
You need to be appreciated for this.

I do think the s22 ultra is a great phone. I have it and a iPhone 13 pro max. Most of these new features already existed on iPhone. With that said, I think these are some bomb updates anyway.

Love what Samsung is doing and I hope they smooth out their animations and transitions in that update. As far as color themes, I definitely do not want overkill. I don't want my phone to turn into a cartoon page.
They're just doing what huawei did with harmony.

Nope animations can be changed in developer's options to be smooth...think it's a minor deal as with all the stupid palettes and Icons
I agree. One UI straight up looks 5 years old (especially with animations) at this point compared to iPhone or Google Pixels.

I like how they're going more in the functionality direction rather than appearance. Everybody everywhere else seems to be mad that they continue to use the same UI. But you don't need to fix what's not broken.
Exactly, even making the whole os one color does not sound like a good idea.

Also I strongly disagree with the functional direction rather than appearance, I'm looking at this glowing piece of shit every day, at least don't make me wanna burn out my eyes. Some appearance changes would hurt noone

You can turn off pop up notifications for individual apps in One UI 4.1, you just have to dive deep into the individual app settings and do it from there which is annoying, for example if you don't want instagram dm pop ups, go to instagram in the settings app, notification categories, instagram direct, and show as pop up option should be there. I guess what's nice is that you get to choose specifically what you want to turn off rather than the whole apps notifications.
you can long press or something on the notification and it will give options to mute / turn off notis

Downloaded yesterday and it's snappier and even better looking I thought. I love it! And a feature I love so much is the watermark on photos. But it'd be even cooler if the watermark could be adjusted to the picture when it's cropped. That would be perfect. Other than that, I'm loving it all.
what I really wanted is software optimization to improve performance and battery life. And also wished they allow us to remove the bloatwares that aren't used but still able to download it if we want to

I think I might be the only one but I'm SOO GLAD with the notification app icons being bigger, makes it so much easier to distinguish without having to focus on the tiny name written on top

As for searching for any key word...do you know maybe, whether this update searches also within the voice recorder and its highlights? I record a lot and soon after I need to name and properly label fragments of those recordings and being able to look through these labels would be a lifesaver!

I've been had the abilities to drag a recent app into split screen and pop up view. Using a Z Fold 3 for example. Now that swipe up with two fingers for split screen, fire 🔥.

BETA 2: Samsung has now released the Android 13 based One UI 5.0 Beta 2 for the Galaxy S22 series phones in the US. The update bears build version ZVH4 and brings a handful of new features as well as fixes for various bugs and issues. on t-mobile
Many of said features are already in One UI 4 on my phone, such as camera watermarks, seeing which bixby routines are running (and which routines would run if they weren't turned off) and others.
Watermark on camera was already available on Note9.
and the camera used as magnifying lens was available on huawei since their nova 2i series.
The swiping widgets feature is genius!!

The magnifier glass app is really old. It's also on my old J5 2017, I know of it because my mom used it.

It almost makes me want to switch away from my Pixel phone. But I'm kind of simple and I like my assistant typing and camera.
But I do love Samsung products and these updates are pretty significant, a lot of individualization possible with the Samsung versus Pixel.
Ehhhh in my opinion, almost every new functionality feature mentioned in this review has been present in the latest Pixel since Android 12, besides Samsung Dex and Widget Stacks (hopefully that one comes soon). I think when I was younger the Samsung features stuck out to me, but the latest iteration of the Pixel has a few features that have legitimately improved my day-to-day life. Stuff like at a glance, hold for me, voice dictation, google assistant, and the super intuitive notification system they use just makes the phone so easy to use. At a glance specifically is a game changer for me. Just having the most relevant information on your home screen with a shortcut directly into that app can save so much time. I think I used to care a lot about customization but stock Android 12/13 looks so beautiful that I don't even really care haha. Google might be slightly slower than Samsung to the game on cutting edge features, but when it makes it into stock android it's usually executed perfectly.

The calendar on my s21 ultra with one UI 5 using dex works perfectly.
3:27 this split screen gesture was a thing back on Android 8. Samsung loves to take features away then bring them back and act like they're new

I ddint understand why is the "Customisation Service" for all Apps is under the settings of Samsung Health App in UI 5.0 ?
Does it matter what of widgets you're using to stack? Could I use KWGT Widgets?
I'm visually impaired, and I've been using my back camera as a magnifying glass for years. there's also a magnifier widget in the accessibility features, I just think they're pulling it out and making it easier to find, which is great. looks like it does the same thing. now if they can just keep the phones from overheating while using it. that would be great. I have the s21 ultra, and it seems like it's having the same overheating issues is the S8 plus I had. this is not just from Mike experience either. I have the S8 plus then switch to the Note 10 plus, then switch to the s21 ultra and I just noticed that the Note 10 plus didn't overheat for me it didn't get hot like the other two.
I have the mote 10 plus and I'm a power user, and my phone has never over heated or gotten hot.
