Hi so I’m getting ready to start the application process and the essay is something that has been weighing me down. I was thinking about writing about my experience with Covid 19 and how that affected my grades when I was a freshman. Or my experience living in Mexico and experiencing a different culture.
the covid affecting your grades sounds a bit generic and I think you might want to aim for something more specific than just "living in Mexico, different culture". That's my take, but anything can be a topic really. You just need uncommon connections, be specific, and an essay that tells a lot about you.
She needs to do a video on culture shocks for international students once they get here
I'm also from Asia, specifically from India & I have also selected a topic that is related to super competitive collage admission environment in India. So, is it a bad idea??
No it isn't a bad idea, you have to be a good storyteller and show personality.
