Brian - if service is your goal with this, my recommendation is to abandon the hinge doohickie and put the entire setup on a drawer slide so it comes out as one huge unit. You can get drawer slides that can full extend with up to 300 pounds of weight. That way you simplify all of it and basically it could be installed as an assembly. The only thing you would need is power and air hoses that were able to articulate then. Your entire setup would be fixed in the drawer and be easier to deal with.

A lot of people are probably thinking "Why is he doing all this ... work".

  • @ramhammer10-4

This is a whole new kind of AC modification. You are above and beyond any RV influencer and advisor on you tube. I got Mad respect for you sir.... thank you for undertaking this cool project.

    @wacs51  +1

So impressed. You are my favorite you tube channel. My wife gets worried when ever I watch you thinking I'm going to do the same thing to our RV but I tell her no worries, he is way over my head but you are fun to watch and a great teacher. Thanks much.

  • @CurtisDrew1

I'm watching this again to see if this is something I might want to consider for my coach.

  • @kevinclark6289

I think I'm going to have to have a frozen margarita just watching this. What a project.

  • @coreymerritt7742

WoW Brian that looks amazing I can’t wait till it’s all finished

  • @americanpatriot1323

I'm impressed! Very nice designing / engineering. Can't wait for the follow up.

  • @lsruch

While you are in there, Insulate, Insulate, Insulate. I may be stating the obvious, but you will want to keep the furnace ducts hot and the AC ducts cold to optimize your efficiency. You don't want to waste your BTUs under the bed or in the basement. You can use an IR camera to "know" exactly where you are short on insulation. Also, that flex hose between the ice box and the fan will collapse on the suction side of the fan and needs to be replaced with solid insulated ductwork.

  • @jimsjacob

Wow, impressive fabrication skills Brian. This is going to be a major project and I’m looking forward to further episodes! I have no doubt it’s going to turn out great.

  • @jimfrazer5428

Brian you are so innovative. I am 68 years old and have done most of my work myself as well but...Man this stuff is crazy. I wish we would have started RVing younger like you have. I might have done some of these things as well. Great videos man. Just great. Our next big trip will be Baha. Did you guys travel to Mexico with a caravan? My wife is scared to make the trip alone. Anyway, your channel is simply awesome. Thanks!

  • @ernestmedina1400

Tito, I'm curious as to what your work background is. I am super impressed with all the jobs you tackle on your RV. You have very good mechanical skills.

  • @1951Roy

Thanks for sharing, great learning experience.

  • @LanceMcCormick

Just want to say big thanks to you for info on GPS and cerbo! I got low jack now!

  • @davidmurray1630

Great fabrication skills!! I'm really anxious to see how these units perform. Please keep us posted with new content!

  • @jamesdamiano3236

I have been waiting for part two of this project. Great stuff! Someone posted having the entire assembly roll out. That sounds like a great plan B if the hinge plan doesn’t work out.

  • @Thesaltymedic36

Very interesting to see how this works out 👍🏼

  • @BTimmer

I like following your complex projects.

  • @timf6916

WOW, That is a big project. Looks like you have a good plan. GOOD LUCK. I will be watching.

  • @CozyLivingMachine

What a really cool project and some serious skills! That really is a lot to learn!
