Planet Coaster this is a rare occurrence these days. I would like to thank the entire team for their hard work. It really paid off and it's a great example of what a studio can do when they are not pressured by big corporations.
Thank you so much for this Frontier. This is the culmination of everything I love about video games. The creativity, the freedom, and pure joy that this game contains is what makes Planet Coaster one of my favorite gaming experiences of all time.

I'm honestly surprised they have that many people actually developing the game. Unless you are including people from the previous three development teams.
Please don't be rude, these people also probably like Planet Coaster if they like such games. They probably weren't skilled enough or hadn't got the resources/time to create a game like Planet Coaster, Atari has made a mess of RCTW and you can't really blame the current developers for that. Especially as THEY are still working on the game trying to fix bugs and what not, yes it isn't that great of a game but I think it would've been delayed a bit further if Planet Coaster wasn't around and it probably wouldn't have gotten shat on as it has happened now.
Yeah unfortunately no. RCT fans have been disappointed with Atari long before Planet Coaster was announced. And for RCTW no amount of delays would have helped it because the devs haven't actually been working on it fully, they've been mostly working on the next RCT mobile app because that will make more money through it's microtransactions. Atari put RCTW on the back burner over a year ago because they knew it wouldn't hold up and they released it this week because they knew once Planet Coaster was out they'd never get any return on that investment. If you think Atari cares about the fans you are kidding yourself. They just want to ride the brand name into the dirt to get everything they can out of it.

I just want to say this: Frontier's behavior during the development process has been perfect. Transparent and professional, listening to the fans while also doing their own thing. Developers with such a great attitude deserves to be rewarded so I do hope this game sells like crazy.

I love that little touch at the end there, like the devs finally handing the game over to the players and letting them do their thing with it. "It's done! Here you go. Have fun now!"
That was one of my favorite parts as well! Gotta admit it got me a little emotional. :')
The perfect touch would be him heading towards the park entrance heading home with a sunset whilst things start getting built around him putting even more of that idea across.

It's been 12 long years since RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 launched and I remember them all. For quite some time, I thought the theme park tycoon was dead or doomed to whatever Atari made of it.
Then Planet Coaster was announced out of the blue by the same developers as RCT3 with that iconic announcement trailer which displayed the same longing by the developers to finally revisit the genre and literally expressed the "bumpy road" it's been getting back here.
And now it's finally release time. I originally expected and was extremely happy with the thought of just a modern take on RCT3, but Planet Coaster and its rapid development these past few months has blown my mind by how ambitious and how much better than even RCT3 it clearly is.
Everything from the design tools to the music to the graphics shows great passion and a desire to resurrect the genre with a bang and I quite literally have a few joyful tears streaming down my face. To the developers, thank you all so much!
I'm happy for SimCity fans that they got Cities Skylines, and for Rollercoaster Tycoon fans because they got Planet Coaster.
But please, could someone make something for us desperate Zoo Tycoon fans ?
Wildlife Park 3, at best.
I was disappointed with Zoo Tycoon, while it looks absolutely amazing the map size and item limit was horrible.

This has the potential to be the ultimate tycoon game in general. If they made an animal expansion like RTC3 they could make the best Zoo Tycoon Game. I just hope they continue adding themes in patches (A dinosaur theme, a scary theme, etc) and DLC

Cities Skyline vs Sim city is a bad comparison. Skylines was unpolished as crap on its launch day. Even today only the mods are making it one of the better city builders. PC is made to the point were no mods needed. Just perfect (or will be after some more updates ;))
JP Fragoso Issue is BlueFang stopped making the zoo tycoon games and sold the franchise to Microsoft who made "Zoo Tycoon" for the Xbone. Had great graphics, but sucked because it was nothing like past zoo tycoon games. And now they are just making some other knockoff spinoff zoo tycoon game which is just basically farmville.

I loved RollerCoaster Tycoon as a kid. Since then the series has fallen to rock bottom and below. But Planet Coaster promised a rebirth with everything I ever wanted from those old games. I was always going to buy Planet Coaster, but after seeing this (really excellent) trailer I rushed off and bought it full price so that the devs could get as much of my money as possible. As someone who enjoys rollercoasters, and loves places like Florida, this is sooooooo good, you even have something like Main Street USA, and the music is beautiful it made me feel good inside especially now where I do sometimes feel down at times, the only thing that does that is the song good life and Steven Universe, actually tied into the next question, can I ask, can a create custom people to put into the park like in RTC 3, I had a fiend pass away two months ago and I want to create a character just like him in this, just so I can remember the time him and I went to Gardaland in Italy.

I bought the game on Alpha way before steam was even an option and I have to say, the way those Guys and Ladies came is really impressive. You really can feel that those @ frontier really love their game and they play it too. It's a game from gamers for gamers with the most epic Theme Park Flair since RCT 3.
This game will always be remembered as the true RCT4. Thanks again Frontier for saving us and releasing this game.

I really enjoy how this trailer of in-game footage actually covers a lot of questions people will have about a new theme park game. Planet Coaster is awesome! Buy it! Play it! Don't stop playing for 6 hours straight and then suddenly realize what time it is and play it more tomorrow!

Infinitely better than RCTW I can assure you. Coming from someone who has 100+ hours on this game, Planet Coaster offers all amazing customization options from RCT3 and improved upon and added tons more to it. Tons of customization options, and let me say, turning off Angle Snap is one of the most advanced tools within this game. Oh, and did I mention the amount of detail on the guests and rides? It's unbelievable! The graphics are so beautiful that my dad thought my park was a real park somewhere and I was looking at photos of one! Amazing job Frontier. Keep it up.
Great trailer. I can see additional VR capabilities. Mix this with the controls that Google Earth VR uses, and make a Vive extension after you finish building the park. Awesome!

The best simulation game I've played all year. The creative tools are as versatile as a professional modeling program with the added bonus of being able to play with and enjoy the simulation.
This is honestly the most convincing trailer I've seen. Definitely buying this one.
First, can you ride your own rides (FP View), secondly, can you explore the park in VR?
Yes to first, no to second. A VR expansion for this game would be terrific though, and the Cobra game engine Frontier uses is capable of that (Elite Dangerous is pretty epic in VR and is also made by them).
So, fingers crossed..
To be honest the camera can just zoom all the way in and get you right at ground level and just let you explore. It's really quite smooth once you get used to it. And of course you can always ride the coasters :)
VR for the game is, by far, my most requested feature. I'm a little fearful though because ~18 months ago they mentioned having VR capabilities, but I guess it got delayed/dropped along the way. I'm not real concerned about designing the park in VR, but I would love to take control of one of the attendees and be able to experience the parks. Allow a couple VR folks to walk around together in a single park for my ultimate dream!!

Taipans I don't think it would be awesome just because how would you control it only VR for the rides? What would happen if you were to look away? It's to complicated for me to receive in my mind!

From what I have played in the beta, this game looks like GOTY material for sure. Frontier have outdone themselves with this game and secured it as the best and definitive roller coaster park simulator ever made imo.
I absolutely adore this game already and will be playing it for years to come until the next release.
