    My biggest dream is to move in L.A in around 5 years.
    In five years i’m going to be 20.
    But i’m gonna have to wait for all the paper work since I would move from out of the country.
    I hope my dream will come true.
    And I wish everyone’s dream will come true in the comment section.

    AND my tidbit on apartment hunting in LA. If you are planning, you must SEARCH for those hidden gems. I stay in Baldwin Hills in a one bedroom and I only pay $1170. The cons with a lot of apartments here is central A/C. I know people who live in Inglewood, so there are nice spots there. I won’t really recommend staying downtown UNLESS your complex comes with a garage or secured parking. Look in the valley like most people. Happy hunting.

      I was born and raised in LA and I know that 50 isn't cold. Most of us don't consider that cold at all. Where have you heard that? Also, people from the east and Midwest think it never rains. WRONG! It rains here, believe me. They're feeding you a lie there. Guess what? It friggin' snows here, too! It's just that it's in the winter very late at night and it melts by morning. I used to come home from work in the middle of the night and see snow on the freeway at least once a month. Bunch of idiot out of towners.

    I'm moving to L.A in 2 weeks,I love watching videos like this. I've been to L.A 4 times. As someone born & raised in New York City,(toughest city ever to live in) L.A is somewhat of a cakewalk lol. The biggest adjustment is that things aren't as accessible or within walking distance,a lot of restaraunts/bars/clubs etc. close earlier & the Metro isn't as extensive as our public transportation. Honestly though,I give the Metro a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10. Yes there's super weird ppl on there & it smells like urine,but it goes back to what I said: Being a New Yorker born & raised prepares you for things like that i feel.

(And me growing up in LA and going to school in Brentwood/palisades area seeing both.) Obvs if ur going to live by the canals or by the palisades part of Samo sure but the regular parts aren’t BETTER than anywhere else thts not the east side of LA.Like the only advantage they have over Inglewood is the RENT CONTROL and instant beach access .

    Okay I Have been to LA 3 times and I am used to the city already. As of this writing, I am getting ready to return to LA for the fourth time. The urine smell that you smell is actually the scent of the palm trees in the city. I learned this when staying at a hotel near Hollywood and Western. I had a baby Palm tree and I smelled the leaves and got the same scent. I did enjoy the Metro Red line and yes I did run into some sketchy characters on the subway but I now know how to protect myself and no one bothers me. A lot of what you said are spot on. I am hopefully going to be out there permanently in 2020.

      If you wanted to go to college in L.A. or the L.A. area, your choices are UCLA in Westwood on the westside, USC which is downtown, Loyola Marymount in Westchester, Cal State Northridge in the valley, and Cal State Los Angeles, a little east of downtown. UCLA is a major state university with probably the most college like atmosphere. USC is a private school which is reputable but in a sketchy part of town. Cal State Northridge is a state school which typically attracts older people and those just after a degree. I think maybe the same for Cal State Los Angeles. I don't know much about Loyola Marymount. Another school worth mentioning that's outside of L.A. is California Institute of the Arts (Cal Arts). It's where people interested in acting and the entertainment industry typically go. It's in Santa Clarita. If you go to a state school, if you have not lived in the state for two years prior, you will have to pay out of state tuition. If you live in the dorms, you will need a place to go during the summer unless you are enrolled in the summer session. Most people get sick of the dorms fast and move in to an apartment. Typically they share a room with someone and their rent is around $800. By the time you move to L.A. minimum wage in the city will be $15 per hour. Who knows what housing prices will be though. As they are now, you would not be able to afford your own apartment on that wage. You will either have to have one or two roommates or make a while collar salary.

      The best way to settle any city...especially LA...is as a college student. Being a college student avails you of a readymade community and a lot of ins and outs. Also, people who are truly from LA tend to avoid people who come to "make it" in LA. But students get a special exception...because they make more sense. So, see if you can get accepted to school. UCLA, my alma mater, is the best one and hardest to get into...but there are a lot of options...and also good community colleges that allow you to transfer!

They were basically saying everyone has a car. LOL. I would love to see the walk of fame. I'm used to crowded streets and restaurants from going to NYC a lot lol. I’m from L.A. born and raised, lived here all my life. In my opinion, don’t move here. It is already WAY overpopulated and traffic is ridiculous especially for the people who truly grew up in this city. I’ve noticed many people moving out here because of CZcams and becoming social media stars but it’s not worth the hype. I’m saying* this because it is my home city and I’m giving this advice to people who are considering living here.

      FatGreasy Mexicant why does it have to be about Mexicans? I’m part Mexican and only have one sibling. Your just talking crap about a specific group of people that you know nothing about. Every individual is different when it comes to how many kids they want to each their own.

      I’m half Mexican too.....most Mexican families have multiple children!
      And many, not all families don’t believe in going to college.....they all want to work in minimum wage jobs, and all live together and combine their incomes to pay the rent and bills.
      It’s sad, but I wish they would adopt the Jewish culture of pushing their children to go to college.

    • @Esimagic
      @Esimagic  Před 5 lety

      Great to see you planning already! I'm sure it will work out :) Yes it is tricky with the Corgi. A lot of buildings don't allow pets, but there are still a lot that do. Usually you just have to pay an extra deposit and sometimes it increases the rent as well, but I'm sure you'll find something that works. A lot of people here have dogs :)

    • @berri5769
      @berri5769 Před 5 lety +2

      Timo Cruz West Hollywood is great but it is the most expensive out of the three. Everything is walkable right off Melrose, Santa Monica Blvd and Beverly. Burbank is great too! Lots of apartments near downtown, that core is walkable. Studio city is very broad, all that area has tons of apartments and I like that area as well and it will be the cheapest from the three. But don’t be afraid to look further out in the San Fernando valley, east towards Alhambra (lots of boba shops), City Terrace, El Monte it is nice out there! I’m not very familiar with areas south of downtown. Big tip, older apartments don’t have fridges 👎, you buy your own.

Like...I was thinking about that too, and I am watching some videos about it...but maybe is because I do not know other cities/states. Underrated ones. Am I wrong? What is it? LA pays well or is it a good place to live, with really great infrastructure and healthy lifestyle? - I really am asking because I do not know much, I would like to hear from people that had an experience there or live there since always :) -

      The rents are variable, depending on where you live. Generally north OC is cheaper than south OC - you can find very affordable places in Fullerton, Anaheim, Santa Ana. If you work close then perfect. If not, you'll probably want to move closer to your work after a while. If you live 30miles from your job, your commute could be from 40min to 1.5hrs depending on the route (if you can incorporate a large part of the 22fwy, its best, because it's the least congested).

The Valley can be great as well, but it comes down to what area you choose because it's so big. You will also be far from a lot of action as well unless you're only going to West Hollywood/Hollywood area.
