    I need to stop buying all the time 100-200$ worth IEM’s and selling them few weeks later for half of the price and go for Twilight for my End Game IEM.Thank you for review.Great job as always.You should try Final Audio VR3000 IEM tuned for binaural audio for gaming.All the time I try to find IEM which sound same spacious but with better resolution,separation and better bass and details.Higher models of Final Audio A4000,A5000 doesn’t sound the same 3D way like much cheaper VR3000 but they all using same 6mm f-Core DU driver.Is a big chance Twilight give me what I’m looking for.

    UM Mest 2 is what I think my endgame IEM would be but recently found out the treble is a bit spicy, Twilight could be what I'm looking for. I need treble cause I like to hear detail but is a bit sensitive. Love bass but can't have too much cause it overshadows vocals. I used to like V shape but now I guess I want W shape?!?!?! Would love to hear your input Bruce.

    • @MichaelBruceShortbus
      @MichaelBruceShortbus  Před rokem +2

      Straight up, the MEST series is for unrelating OCD details. They get more or less in terms of high treble details but still, they are not for a treble sensitive person.

    • @TonkyTronicus
      @TonkyTronicus Před rokem

      @@MichaelBruceShortbus I disagree. I've never had treble spicyness on MEST 2.

      I’m sensitive to treble. Like I thought the timeless was shrill af. The Mest mkii is the headphone that showed me what great treble can sound like. All the details without the drama. Doesn’t matter what tips either.

      I love the Mest MK2, I went from the u12t to the Mest and feel they are far superior in every way. I can’t see how the Mest can be improved, they work really well with my music collection.

      @@MichaelBruceTaos Than maybe do a some videos classifying your mods. Nobody else is doing videos about this. Nothing wrong with having a niche. I was the guy asking what and where to find the damping filters you used to mod the Letshuoer A12. I'd never have found them if you hadn't answered my comment, thanks again. Maybe there is a forum site where you guys talk about this. If so tell us where it is. Maybe do some videos explaining how to mod. Beginner, intermediate and advanced levels or something.
      I have Susvara headphones and want to hardwire them with Audio Note 31 strand silver litz wire. Audio Note UK everything is the ultimate. I've tried about 18 different high falutin' wire types as RCA interconnect and even though the Munford silver/gold, Connex 6n silver and Neotech silver/gold multi-strand (it's not litz) were spectacular, the Audio Note 0.6mm solid silver was on a whole other level of superiority. Like getting a new component. The only deficiency in my testing was that nothing was burned in. I have burn in gear now so I should try that. The Dueland silver in particular came highly recommended and sounded really bad. Afterwards I was told they need a lot of burn in. I'd actually be trying the 31 strand Audio Note as interconnect if I wasn't planning on breaking the bank on Audio Note Sootto RCA interconnect. That's the highest recommended cable from my advisor. Of all the wires I've tested the silver wire is on another level compared to copper. There are some nasty coppers and silvers, maybe they need lots of burn in, but generally silver is off the charts good compared to copper.
      But back to the Susvara mod, I had no idea how I was going to do it until I saw a video on Custom Cans channel. It was so simple I couldn't believe it. We could all figure this stuff out ourselves but would likely destroy everything learning how to do it. Speaking of mods, you seem like the kind of guy that would be really into going further with your mods. Take the output blocking capacitor that you bypassed in your Geshelli amp. If you could run some short leads from where the original capacitor was located (use Audio Note 0.6mm if you can - that's a pain because you need a decent solder pot - American Beauty Mini Pot is the one to get - and lead free 4% or so silver solder - to remove the enamel from the wire). Than you can try swapping out various capacitor types and sizes. This info would be invaluable to any of your viewers that want to try changing those out. I'd try the Russian teflon film capacitors you can get on ebay. You'd have to bundle them and they'd take up the most space but likely would be the best bang for the buck. Teflon does have a characteristic sweet sound so it's not perfect. Maybe try oversized NOS Black Gate or Audio Note Kaisei in the spot the original caps were in. Or, if experimenting at the lead outs you could try polypropylene film caps. Wima are best. Metallized polypropylene would be cheaper and smaller but noticeably less clean sounding. But although polypropylene doesn't have the detail and low level resolution of teflon, it has a nicer, more neutral sound.
      I should mention that you should use Audio Note silver solder or second best is Cardas silver solder. That means you need lots of heat which means a serious soldering iron like the Weller WT 1. If you want to hear how silver sounds without spending much, buy some 0.2 mm dead soft fine silver (not Sterling Silver - that's for jewelry) from Rio Grande. You can buy it by the foot. Real World Audio on CZcams has a weird recipe but I just made up my own 32 strand wires. The sound was off the charts good compared to copper interconnects and cost very little. You haven't heard audio until you've heard silver. It's that big a difference. If your gear sounds bright with silver than either the silver no good or your gear needs to go. There is no alternative. Knowing what I know now I'd recommend getting the high falutin' brands I recommended above. Only the Audio Note is an extra hassle in that you have to remove the enamel. I just use a chop stick from the dollar store for the center pin on RCA and a short 3/16" long piece of vinyl hose with a tye-wrap around it for the outside of the RCA connector. That way I can hear what the wire sounds like without the connector sound messing things up. Plus I can swap things out easily and not have to go through the breakin of the solder joint etc. Audio Note RCA connector is superior but expensive. It has no sound at all. XLR is a problem because Audio Note don't make them. The AECO are supposed to be best but I don't know for certain. I bought them but haven't used them yet. Either way try to use silver contact connectors rather than gold and stay the hell away from rhodium.
      I have more to say but that is enough for now. If you need capacitors in enough quantity that it hurts your bank account, try buying lots on ebay. I have piles of them from the early 2000s when ebay was new and businesses were dumping stuff really cheap. I could even give you some stuff. I even have some used black gates that might work but I might get one of these Geshellis myself and need them. I thought they were for power supply filter capacitors. I can see how an electrolytic would sound good as signal capacitor. I just checked Audio Note silver film capacitors to see what that would cost. Oops. Tens of thousands so out of the question.

    although I admire what they did with this one and the turii, I cannot help but wonder what is the point of an “open” iem when openback headphones and flathead exist, the latter of which also has high front venting

    • @nusu5331
      @nusu5331 Před rokem +1

      you have less variables with inears, as you do not need to take the outside earshape into account. so you could achieve more preciseness, when done right. additionally it is much easier to achieve sub bass

    • @inventionlws7423
      @inventionlws7423 Před 11 měsíci

      I agree with all your points. But I feel like the cons outweighs the pros and the practicality of an "open" in-ear is very little. Just my opinion.@@nusu5331
