Hi Everyone,
We hope you enjoyed our video! Which truck camper did you like best? Do you prefer a travel trailer, motorhome or 5th wheel? Please say hello by leaving a comment below and sharing your opinion about these RV floor plans.
Yes 👍if you could find « small 4 seasons » fifth wheels campers ( under 20’) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. ❤️from Québec
I like Camper Van's, small non Murphy Bed trailers but I camp on rough roads.
The last one if I had a 4500 truck.
I prefer the first one. Thank you for sharing
@@andreefaniel4500 Check out the Escape 5.0. It's a 21' fiberglass 5th wheel that might work.
I like the NuCamp Cirrus 920 for the simple fact that it has NO SLIDES! Did I ever mention "I HATE SLIDES, WHICH I WON 'T GET INTO HERE! Ha! I own a Lance 1181 truck camper & I am in the process of removing the slide & upgrading everything in it.
The Yokon Host is nice, but your gonna need at least a Dodge 5500 or Ford 550 to haul it.
Anyway, Mike & Susan, I love your CZcams content, please just keep it up! I like the videos you do on practical things you need in RV life.
I hate slides too lol! So 👍 for your challenge to remove yours. 🍻
Thank you so much alienwatcher777! So glad you find our content helpful. We appreciate your support! I completely understand your dislike for slide outs. I would love to see your progress on your Lance. Best of luck with that!
I hope to get it done by the end of June. I video everything I've done & will post it on my you tube channel. Most of the videos are 1 to 2 minutes long, but I want to combine them all into one. @@RVBlogger
I just subscribed so keep me posted.@@alienwatcher777
I liked the 3rd camper the best with all of the space in it!!! Also, I liked that they had dry baths in them.
It was nice to see Susan!!!
(👋🤣) We loved the Host Yukon and that they have dry baths too! Truck campers sure have come a long way! Hope you have a great week!
As beautiful and large and customizable as the last one is, I would stick to the middle one with no slide outs! (Yes, I'm one of "those".) Of course we all want to know about Cracker Barrel and the mirror now! 😃
😂 yeah, about the mirror thing, i'm curious now too, like what he walked into? 🤣
So you see the slide out is how the story started....We pulled into the Cracker Barrel and our bedroom slide wouldn't come out! (I know..this is why slides suck!) Unfortunately we have a tilt-a-bed that has to be tilted when the slide is in. We had to sleep horizontally on the bed which felt smaller than a twin bed. Needless to say "sleep" was a struggle but once Mike did he woke to his own reflection in the mirror. So busted slide, sleep deprived and seeing that handsome mug first thing in the morning wasn't his best morning! But he was, more so, concerned about shattering the mirror while we slept. 😬🤣🤦♀️
“I don’t like sleeping in a bed w mirrors. I had a bad experience at Cracker Barrel and I don’t wanna talk about it”
Umm Mike, dude, that created SO many troubling angles to imagine you almost now need to clarify !😂
Is there a Crackle Barrel hotel I’m unaware of ?! Have you guys been nesting in a closed restaurant squatter style !?! So many possibilities here it’s mind bending !🤣😂
🤣 I'm afraid the imagination is a much better story. We pulled into the Cracker Barrel and our bedroom slide wouldn't come out! 😬
But I really enjoy your theories!
@RVBlogger 🤣That IS both a funny and comical story which could change my perception towards mirrors in the bedroom also ! Very understandable
There are worse mugs to wake your eyes to, and I'm living proof ! Lol. Mike, you're doing just fine there, handsome sir. Embrace that mirror mirror on the wall, for you are the greatest camper of us all !
As always, your responses are as grand as you videos, keep up the good work. Those were some surprising truck campers !
@@petepaul615 thank you! We hope to educate and entertain for a long time! Even at Mike's expense 🤣
1st one with 2 slides 3400lb ok maybe. 2nd one no slides 4400lb seems reasonable with all the cabinets. 3rd one with 3 slides 4000lb! 😱 no way! I hope everyone does there research and doesn’t believe the dry weight! too many rigs out there overloaded as it is!
Great video thanks for doing a video on truck campers! ❤️👍
Thank you! So glad you liked the truck camper torus. I have to say I did a double take too but according to Host website the base weight of their Yukon is 3,955 lbs. Obviously that wouldn't include many of the upgrades like the washer and dryer. I imagine it has something to do with their "ultralite 100% aluminum structure". Thank you for your support!
They all look great! It would be very hard to choose a favorite.
Truck campers have come a long way. Love that they now include a dry bath vs wet bath. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
That Host Yukon is a beast!! 😍 I can't imagine all of that on the back of a truck 😮 amazing!
IKR! Seems like you would be a bit top heavy but it works🤣. It's a pretty cool looking truck camper! Thanks TrinkaPolite!
Love that big Yukon , it’s huge, I have always been scared of truck campers being top heavy in high winds, thanks guys, great job,
Hi Mildred! We love the Yukon too! I wonder how high winds do affect the stability. Glad you enjoyed the tour of these truck campers. Thank you!
@@RVBlogger It's not that bad. Most of the weight (water and holding tanks) is at the bottom of the camper, and the largest load (freshwater) is at the front. I've had a Bigfoot 2500 10.6 and now have a Host Cascade. You can feel a sidewind push on the vehicle. It's not as bad as pulling a big fifth-wheel or travel trailer with a side wind load.
@@buckhorncortez very true about towing a TT or 5th! Thank you so much for sharing your personal experience and Host truck camper layout!
Can you get into the last camper when the slides are in? Looks like those theater seats would block the entrance door. That would be inconvenient!
I think the slide would prevent you from being able to enter into the truck camper. I can see where that would be a disadvantage. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
I agree. Having to open the slide to load it up for a trip is a deal breaker. Also, to use the bathroom? I don’t think you can do anything without opening those slides. Harder to stay at a Cracker Barrel, etc.
@@annettemills2399 true about overnighting. But we park somewhere on the lot where we can open our bed slide and haven't had any issues.
Im interested in a truck camper without slide outs...but for that price, it better include a new truck! Otherwise it's cheaper to buy a towable camper...in my opinion!
Agree! The MSRP is higher in these truck camper versus towables. They do have some better features than many TT but it's hard to justify especially since you have to still buy a pretty heavy duty truck. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
WOW !! All three of those are awesome !! They sure have come a long way !! Thanks y'all & safe travels !!
It's incredible how luxurious these truck campers are! Not just for fishing and hunting anymore. Thanks Darryl!
Excellent video as usual.
I like the last one. I just seems crazy to have a truck camper that big. It would take a little why to get use to driving it down the road for sure. Thank you for doing this video
😊
You're welcome! It's not a whole lot bigger than a 25' Class C motorhome (length and height), but it "looks" a little top heavy to me. I would be curious if driving one felt different. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
That Host Yukon 11.6 is absolutely Outstanding!!!
Yes, that floor plan blew my mind! 🤯 Thank you so much for watching our video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
What happened at the Crackle Barrel Mike? Tell us, haha

I like the nucamp 920 because its an electric stove.

@@RVBlogger All it's missing is a waterfall.
@@PublicWifi Haha! Yes!
I like Arctic Fox and Bigfoot truck campers - they are 4 season rated. Why would I want to camp in the winter? Well I don't but late fall camping you risk freezing rain, light dusting of snow and high winds when traveling.
Lance and Host have great layouts, Cirrus pantry is very well thought out.
You should review the Cirrus 620 because it's 1/2 ton truck ready for those who don't have a 3/4 or 1 ton budget.
In my Bigfoot I endured a snow storm in August (!!!) in northern BC. Love the furnace and the 4-season design! As a taller guy, though, it would be nice to have a true queen bed.
We don't get too many Arctic Fox and Bigfoot truck campers in our area but if we do we will definitely tour them. And we'll try to find the Cirrus 620, great suggestion. Thanks asdventureswithgnomie6553!
@mikemonks9497 bed size is a real struggle for you taller folks (and the shower!). Glad you're loving your Bigfoot! Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting.
We've always liked truck campers. Unfortunately, as cool and innovative as they maybe, they too are way over priced. $124,000 for the camper and then $80k - $$120k for the truck to haul it. 🧐
Understandable. Combined you're talking the same price for a Class A motorhome. Blows my mind!🤯 Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
It's all about what you want to do with it. Put ones of these on a big 350 or 450 4x4 with max payload/towing, and you can drive this towing a boat and go anywhere on any road. Can't do that with a class A. Maybe class Super-C 4x4 diesel, but then you might get to half a million with one of those.
@@modelmanjohn true! It's more about what you need and fits your lifestyle. They're all priceless if you're happy in it. Thank you!
@@RVBlogger For a cheap Class A yes. For one that actually works and will last, the entry price is well over $400K. Look at the volume Class A and you're at $400 K. For a really well-built one entry price is over $700K. The best cost / performance is in the Super C class. Small ones like the Dynamax Isata 5, or the Renegade Veracruz are $250+ new and $125+ used.
Really too expensive without the truck included! Both over $ 200k 😮😅
Like all three Mike but you’re right….. the last one is HUGE!!!
Yes! That Host Yukon was pretty awesome! But they all had great floor plans with a dry bath. Love how advanced truck campers have become. Thanks Kevin!

The Cirrus 920 is a re-release from nuCamp and they did a great job with that floor plan! So glad you liked it and enjoyed the other truck camper tours. Thank you so much for watching our video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
They're all fabulous. I loved #3 Host Yukon the most, but that toilet area is ridiculously small, as if they got the end of designing and someone noticed the toilet wasn't in. The whole video all I could think of is images of truck beds snapped off. I'd have to hear the engineering details before I would consider any of these.
It is a bit scary to see those trucks break due to a camper. Hard to tell whether it's operator error or design flaw. There's always risk involve when towing or driving an RV and people need to know weights and safety features. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
Hi Mike and Susan!
I liked the Nu Camp until I saw the last one. I like the Yukon! That one’s really nice. I would fall a sleep in the lounger. lol! Watching a movie. Thank you Mike and Susan hope you both have a great week.

Thanks Susan and Mike, another well done video. These campers have come a long way since I was a lad in the 60's. I was thinking about the cost, not of the camper itself, but the 1 ton dually truck to carry them. 50-100k +. Might want to add that in. The first and third ones don't appear to offer toilet access without having the slides out, which is, well, a drawback. The Lance: stupid fridge, no one needs a three burner stove in a camper and they all should have front to back cook tops with a large convection microwave. I'm not a fan of any dinette, two chairs and a collapsible, storable table would suffice. One doesn't need a sink in the bathroom, there's a shower head right there. Nucamp: the kitchen sink is strange. (do your dishes). I'd be hitting my head sitting up on the bed. Host: double the price when you add the beast of a truck that you would need. I suppose there are people who would and do buy these campers and that's great for the companies. Anyway, just my opinions. Stay safe out there.
Great video. The NuCamp and the Host look particularly well made.
Hi Tuvia! They sure have come a long way! And you are right about the cost of truck to complete the package. We have learned that smaller RVs like Class Bs, teardrops and truck campers can cost as much if not more than their larger counterparts, which is unfortunate. But I'm sure there is a large consumer demand for these types of campers. Something for everyone. Thank you, as always! 🤗
@rosemarydoran9907 Hi Rosemary!!! How have you been? Glad you liked the nuCamp and Host truck campers. They are very well constructed! Thank you for watching and commenting!🤗

It always annoys me to no end when they put a sink in the bathroom in such a small camper. It's completely unnecessary and shouldn't even be a thing. You have your sink in the kitchen. Imagine how much more room would be in that bathroom for the shower and the toilet if you just eliminated the useless sink.
We agree but there is a serious debate about the bathroom sink. I say eliminate it and but a hand sanitizer dispenser in the bathroom - problem solved and more space for the shower and toilet!
Thanks for watching!

👏 yeah finally some truck campers. I like the overall decor n specifically the design of the bedroom area of the cirrus, out of the Host campers the yukon with W/D setup has always made me 🤩, and i wouldn't even consider a lance, they have the worst storage.
Got any more? 😁🍻
So glad we could finally bring another truck camper video. Don't have any more yet but I will keep looking. I think the 3 windows in the Cirrus bedroom area make the space brighter and lighter! Thanks SpykersB!

Northern Lite 10-2 Dry Bath ... no need to look any further!
We love Northern Lite truck campers. We toured that floor plan in this video czcams.com/video/vhRxbkCS9IY/video.html. It's a great dry bath truck camper for not having a slide out! Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
My choice is the last one, because of the size. We have a Class A and I have wanted to consider going to a truck camper since we aren't full time, although two things fall into play here. One I am clostophipic and I don't know that i could handle the bedroom area. We once had a class C and I couldn't do the bunk above the bed, I even had to paint the area in 10 min individuals because I felt so closed inl. The second is the price, We couldn't afford the prices of the new plans. God has graced us with our Class A so guess we will keep him.
We love the Host Yukon too! There is more room in the truck cab bed than a Class C bunk but I completely understand. The cost is still a bit outrageous, especially after adding a new truck to the equation. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
I like the Host Yukon…..
With all the slides open it’s the most spacious for a truck camper
It also has the best dry bath I’ve ever seen, closest to a bathroom you’d seen in a house.
I like the optional washer/dryer and I’d opt for a smaller bed in the over-cab for the extra storage space…..
But unless I win the lottery this rig is way out of my price range
I like it anyway
The Host Yukon is a pretty awesome truck camper! The evolution of the truck camper has been incredible. Dry bath, fireplace, washer/dryer 👀🤑. But they sure are beautiful. Thanks Robert!
A couple of concerns on the Host Yukon: that bathroom door situation was wonky in a couple of ways and the shower was cheap; it makes me cringe to think about 40ish gallons of black water moving around on a slide and do you have to put the slide out to empty that tank? The trim around the slide-outs looked cheap also. For an MSRP exceeding $100000 they need to do better not just bigger.
Those are all fair concerns. I don't think having the black tank in the slide is an issue. It's no different than moving around as you are driving. And the slide doesn't have to be out to empty it. As for the trim around the slides, they used the same fabric as the furniture upholstery versus traditional wood trim. Everyone's taste is different. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
No, the black tank can be emptied with the slide extended or retracted. The position of the slide has nothing to do with the function of the tank. I don't get worrying about the weight of the tank on the slide. Other RVs have refrigerators and complete kitchens that are moved outward with the slide.
@@buckhorncortez thank you for sharing your knowledge as a Host truck camper owner! Much appreciated.
If you’re needing to flap your arms and elbows on the toilet, you might need some stool softener. 😅😅

Wow definitely the 3rd . I just don't know about the prices.😮
We love the Host Yulon too! The MSRP of RVs are still a bit high. I'd be curious what the sales price would be. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!

We've had a few and I no longer remember what I was referring to!

Apparently if you are going to use any of these campers, you’re going to stay on pavement. They all look top heavy. How about getting the height from the bed to the top of the AC. No one makes a camper for standard trucks. And, they are too heavy. I have a Sunline 9.5 (1974) that measures 10’7” to the top of my evaporator. Sits on a 1973 K20 Chevy truck. The floor plan is similar to the second one. I can sleep 4 adults and 2 kids. The dry weight is 1800 lbs. AND I can pull my 19’ boat (Grownups boat), and put it in and safely retrieve it at a tidal ramp. Most of the new campers don’t have a front window or escape hatch. Mine has 2 propane tanks. Mine is also all 12 volt. Have traveled all over the country and ran beaches on both coasts. Years ago, I parked on a street in manhattan. Can’t do that now!
Sounds like you have an awesome setup! There are smaller truck campers for smaller trucks on the market. But it seems people are always looking for bigger or more. We'll see if we can find some smaller style truck campers along our journey. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
I have been waiting for the Cirrus 920 for a while, once it came out I started looking around for a dealer to work a deal with. Unfortunately, some dealers are playing around with the MSRP and it is all over the place. I've seen it from $75K to $95K. One particular dealer I spoke with has changed it twice increasing it by $15K so I have to wait until they are all done playing games. In the meantime, I have been looking at other brands and will probably go with one of them instead.
I wonder if the cost of the 920 is so volatile because they just re-released this floor plan. So much of the MSRP has to do with demand vs supply in my opinion. Hopefully they stop playing games! Best of luck in your search. We appreciate your support!
Yes, that is a possibility but here is what happened with one particular dealer. I had a approximate MSRP from Cirrus directly which closely matched what the dealer advertised, it was only off by a few hundred dollars. I spoke with the dealer and was given an MSRP of $6K over what their advertised MSRP price was but gave me a "sale discount" of the same over amount plus the prep fee of $1K. In other words, I didn't get any discount but they made it appear as if they were giving me one. Today, it is advertised for $10K below what I was originally quoted, and their original advertised MSRP. This is not my first rodeo and dealers need to learn that we are way more educated than in the past, social media is a powerful tool.
Amen to that! Like buying a car. I knew every price in every dealership in the area along with the "true car" or "kbb" value. There was no getting a high price passed me! Best of luck to you. @@rvnut1133
I placed an order for the 920 in January so have signed paperwork with what I think is a good price after seeing them start to come out. I read that only 30% of orders were custom, and the rest were dealer stock. Probably due to the rarity right now dealerships are trying to jerk people around who didn't custom order :(
Was the custom order lower than what the are advertising it for?
Too big for my F-250 but I like the Lance 650
These are bigger truck campers. Glad they do have floor plans to fit most size trucks. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
I remember when truck campers were just a shell covering the bed!
IKR! They sure have come a long way! Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
I remember when first-class postage was 3 cents...
Good video, but why pay 100k truck and 130k camper? 2500-3k lbs payload is the standard on HD trucks. At 4k-5k lbs with these, you'll require 4500/450 HD truck not the 3500's or 350. Diesel for sure and updated suspension. Nearly 20k more into the suspension to handle this weight. Just get a 8-12,000 lb trailer and 2500 truck. For under 125k.
You make a valid point but some people prefer the style of a truck camper versus towing a TT. Luckily there is something for everyone. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
If you spec an F350 (and I'm sure GM and RAM) correctly the truck has a payload of over 5500 pounds. I have a Host Cascade its loaded wet weight is 4935. My F350 dually, door sticker payload is 5600 pounds. I don't want to pull a trailer or fifth wheel. For my wife and I, the trip is the vacation, not the end point so we never stay in one place longer than 2-3 days. That's why you buy a truck camper.
@@buckhorncortez the ease of setup and travel is much nicer in a truck camper vs TT or 5th wheel.
Because I am new to truck campers is the cost for just the camper?
Yes, the truck is a separate cost.
Yes that is the MSRP for the camper only. These prices are still a bit high but they are negotiable at dealerships. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
what's up with the see-thru bathroom doors on cirrus campers? Show-stopper for me. Is this the European design concept?

These "small" truck campers can pack on some weight. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
What is a dry bath?
It’s where you step into a tub or shower enclosure to take a shower. . . like at your house. A wet bath is where you stand wherever you can, and let the water rip: water everywhere. Everything in the bathroom gets soaked.
what Richard said🤣. In a dry bath your shower enclosure and toilet are separate. In a wet bath the floor is your shower drain and the toilet, sink and walls all get wet when you shower. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
@richardfox7342 thank you! We appreciate your help!
I wonder why it's always cramped or so little space for the toilet seats? It's like to they just put it in there without a care how the person will wash their butts
You're probably right. Just making sure everything is in there, but not necessarily conveniently. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
He went to fast and gave many wrong measurements when describing these campers. He kept saying the heights were in the 60 to 67 in range which is 5ft to 5ft 7 in. On the host camper, he left out a ton of info and was wrong on a lot of it. He forgot to mention the fireplace also heats. and you can get a storage cabinet instead of a fireplace. You can get a queen or a king-size bed with clothes cabinets on either side instead of the one long one on the one side. He really should of done more research instead of doing a halfway job of telling millions of people the wrong info. And BTW, Host Ind. makes at least
7 different models of truck campers with a ton of options and different seating situations. Wish he had researched more.
First I would like to take the time to thank you for watching our RV tour video. We appreciate your support. The measurements given while in the shower were in feet and not inches. So they were 6'7". Not only did Mike verbally refer to the measurements in feet but we also included a graphic at the bottom of the video that displayed 6'7". Sorry you misunderstood that information. We mentioned several times that the Host Campers can be custom designed with bedding and cabinetry and included that information in the graphics of the video as well. As for the fireplace, you got us there, we didn't mention it was a heat source but we did think that was assumed since it is a fireplace. Sounds like you are a big supporter of Host Truck campers. We did not go into detail about the variety of floor plans by Host, just like we did not go into detail with the other two truck manufacturers and the many floor plans they provide. You might be new to our channel. We tour all kinds of RVs by different manufacturers and categorize them by features like Murphy beds or by size like under 5,000lbs GVWR. Thanks again for watching and commenting.
