and we shall witness
the tongue of the flute
speaks as of the original sound
that caressed the earth
to part for the trees to rise
and the double headed drum
followed the cadence
of their fall
honouring the slanted call
of the lightning
and on the bare slopes
of the primal rhythms
callouses grew into mountains
so that we would have song
determining the gathered feelings
of seasons wishing to display
the beauty of their gifts…
this is what was written
in the sky
for the sun to see
