- Just when you thought the R36S couldn't get any better. Here I'll show you how to get the function button to finally work!! Ill even go over the game changer feature called quick mode. I also show you how to use your phone for Wi-Fi so you don't need a dongle. We even do some fun customization changing out loading splash screen along with some other fun stuff.

Must be in .jpg format

Hey guys, I may have made a mistake about the function button. I believe you will also need to update to the latest arkos in order to see the option to map the function button. Very sorry I must've received the wrong information.

Thank you Al, I wanted to put together all the good tips I could find in one place for everyone to use.
Ordered mine couple of days ago, I have the R35S which I have had major problems with. The battery expanded and leaked fortunately it did not damage the board. Couldn't find a like for like so got the nearest to it cut the wires and soldered the battery connection. Then the next day I got a blank screen! Memory card failed, got new then had the problem of finding firmware that worked. Tried loads but only got 1 to work looks like the one you have but can't get start select to work anymore.
Next plan is to clone the R36S card and try that.

JELOS now oficially supports the Game Console R35S and R36S! An option to select your device variant is available in the "System Settings" menu. Great alternative for the ArkOS
does the thing with the function button only work, when using your DTB files? Or should it also work with the ootb stock ones?
Is it possible to disable the option menu somewhere in the menu so that the left analog does not display the game menu after pressing it? Unfortunately, when I turn the knob intensively, I sometimes press it and menu frame appears, covering the middle of the screen...

hey there im getting black screen when i turn on my r36s. the sd cards works in my other r36s. do you happen to know whats goin on? is it the handheld itself?
I changed the emulator for n64 and now the screen is either too big or too small depending on whicb standalone I use. Anyone got any solutions on how to fix the screen size?
Can I connect a bluetooth dongle to it and then use my earphones? Does that work?
I have successfully flashed my card and it's great, but on all my psp games when I use analogue stick to go left it turns right on screen and vice versa the left goes right, I'm new to this can you help please .
I had same problem without flashing or doing anything i just went onto settings when playing a psp game and changed the controll via the settings
I have a question regarding charging. My device is due to arrive soon but i keep reading conflicting info in regards to the wall adapter. Is it supposed to be 5V 1A, 5V 1.5A or 5V 2A? I really don't wanna mess up my device.

Oh thats because NDS is a standalone emulator not RetroArch. That function is for RetroArch.
thats something i really dislike. all those key combinations are not available across all games and platforms 😞

I could be wrong, but shouldn't updating to the latest 2024 ark os release fix the fn button? I simply flashed the latest version and it worked without replacing any files

Also adjust brightness with R3+dpad up and down or press start and the first menu option youll see brightness controls

R3 is the right joystick pushed in

Got it all working thanks to your vid, Javi. But the logo is not appearing. It's the right dimensions, right bitrate and all the same attributes. Replaced it the exact same way as you, and it's named the same "logo.bmp" - but it's not appearing. Perhaps a new update or something? I just got it 2 weeks ago. Anyone else having this problem?

Same for me. Did update ARKos to newest and throw your DTB Files in (did whitescreen (again) before anyways) but does not allow me to use the fn. Any ideas? Did re-replace the DTBs after the first successfull boot (after update -> whitescreen -> dtb files in -> boot correctly -> dtb files replace again) but didnt do its effect.
Tho still much thanks for all the customisation. Got fully working Scrapes for everything, ARK did the rest, personalised stuff, all with your help. Awesome work.@@JaviPlayRetro

Yes. I believe it is R3 + dpad down to lower brightness 🌞
Can you show how to add games?
How do i get the Wi-Fi to work? I've tried with my phone to no avail. Is there a specific Wi-Fi dongle for this device? I've tried a couple of dongles that a friend has, but also to no avail. I've seen people in YT use them but never really mention what dongle they are using. Thank you for and info you can provide.
Make sure you are connecting the usb c cable to the otg port on the R36s and connect the other side of your usb c cable to your phone. Next, you have to go into your phone's mobile hotspot settings and allow usb tethering. Should work after that
I've got the same problem, my galaxy s23 ultra can't see r36s as USB device, usb c to usb c cable is plugged in otg console's port and in my phone's USB c port

I tried this but it didn't work. When I press Function the button changes. Instead of saying you set the hotkeys, could you actually show us how you set them, it would only take a few seconds longer I think
What is not working for you? Setting the function button to be the hotkey or changing other hotkeys?

You can actually adjust the firmness. There's a screw on the inside you can turn and it will loosen the firmness

You download roms on a pc and or smart phone and transfer over to the system using a micro SD card into the proper folder.

If you load the fork intended for the r36s tip 1 will not work.
You don't need to do any of those if you're using my image. You just use it as is as these modifications are already made on default.
@@AeolusUX Exactly! BTW one odd thing Select+Start to close a game isnt working for some reason, I just use the FN+X to close games.
