Great video, love the production quality! Remember first watching you on your video about how to optimize the RP3 (original) for PSP. Just thought I'd mention that there's super easy mods to improve the D-pad and face buttons, make the shoulder buttons quieter, and the latest community build of ArkOS for the R36S fixes the function button and adds quick mode! Look forward to your future videos in any case ^o^
easyest way to update is to usb tether from ur fone and then just update (press update in options) can also scrape like this too no wifi dongle needed or no need to download and replace files
yes but then you have no original os backup
@@kobrapromotions u can back it up in settings anyway just explaining iits easy to update with Ur phone not backing up
Be tried this with 4 different wires and none of them work. Not sure what is happening.
So im getting these random lines on the screen, they look like shadow lines, they arent always there, they pop up randomly depending on the picture the screen.
OTG video does not work. Tried with an OTG powered adaptor. The R36S does not support DisplayPort Alternate Mode. Loved your videos will have to try out Shining Force III and Panzer Dragoon Saga when time allows. I had totally skipped over Saturn in my youth so it's fun to come back to these old Sega consoles and play them now.
I got my r36s updated it with an android via usb tether. Now my device turns on and black screen with sound. I followed some guys CZcams vid tried to flash the os. Doesn’t work. To download tiny best games it literally takes days I can’t be bothered with this finding out how to do things in the settings and taking ages to download files only for things to not work
I have exactly the same problem and have tried everything so far but it hasn't helped

What is the advantage to use 2 SD cards instead of just using 1 SD card ? i bought 2 Samsung Pro Plus 128gb cards works fine .
Using 2 SD cards (one SD card for the OS and one SD card for ROMs etc) means that if you want/need to update the OS you can do so easily without losing your save states and having to reload all your ROMs, BIOS etc

I cant get metal gear solid to work on the device. it keeps saying bios not available. do you paste the bios file in the rom card or in the operating system card? and in what folder
Inside 'bios' folder in whichever card you're using for roms.

San Disk SD's are fine for roms if formatted right.
Sandisk Extreme too? We're not the only ones for whom it didn't work for ROMs on R36S
@@hyperplayrpg Im trying to use an Sandisk Ultra 512GB A1 for Roms and R36s can't recognize it even after all type of formants and configurations. You say it will be recignized if we use the 1 Card Solution only? I have had no luck with recognizing it in either slot so far...But maybe need some tutorial to clone OS to this one so it can work possibly...
@@scorpion06 Yeah: for the one card solution, you need to have the OS on the card as well as the ROMs. See Jacek's and Joey's guides for the one-card solution, and try a 128GB card (preferably reliable like Samsung)
@@hyperplayrpgThanks for the help i remembered i had one 256GB sd kingston card on my switch cloned it to the 512gb one and now i have the best of 2 worlds xD A bigger card on the switch and a 256GB card for roms that works great! solved!

why dont use Win32DiskManager? Ich used it to flash my new samsung sd card, and it works like a charm? Thanks for Infos.

If wanting to upgrade to a larger or more reliable (than included chinese no-name) sd card, can the OS card simply be cloned to another card, or does the OS need to be flashed from the ArkOS file?
How do you get the battery % to display on the screen please?
Turn on ➡️ press Start ➡️ UI Settings ➡️ scroll all the way down ➡️ Show Battery Status ➡️ choose Icon And Text

got it just now. arkos is not the latest. its the september one. and i found the screen flickering on the right side. is it hardware problem or need to update?

i did update otg over Android Smartphone. After 20 min it was finish to reboot. Now i see the Boot Logo and than black screen and only music. I Tryed many Images with diffrend sd cards over Rufus, but allways black screen. Can you help me ? :(
Same happened to me. Was able to fix with dtb file fix. Look it up. Reddit helped me

Hello, after the update the volume buttons won't work, also the power button is not gooing to sleep mode. Any idea?
We found you have to press the volume buttons a lot to get them working sometimes (see our Grip video where we start playing Mario Kart 64). Sleep function isn't great on R36S but we'll be doing a new vid soon on an awesome (Deep) Sleep/Hibernate feature that puts you straight back into your game
im having problems with the saves of gba and nds, any tips?
i couldn't get any saturn game to run on it, i select the game and it just goes back to the menu, the games don't start and this happens with all saturn games but only saturn for some reason...what i'm i doing wrong? i checked the file format and it seems to be fine, it's bin and cue.....help meeee

@@AndroChimera Yeah me too. I watch all the vids by @retrogamecorp, Taki etc but only own an R36S so far. Just find it endlessly fascinating that all these games from my youth and beyond can be played so easily and in such style...

Hey I am not a techie at all. I just bought it and it came in today. Are you saying I can't play it straight out of the box? That I HAVE to purchase an SD card for it to work? I was hoping to just pop it on and start playing...
No, you can play it right out of the box. The supplied flash cards just don't tend to last very long.
Just make sure to do a backup often as the cards are very generic and will corrupt eventually. Or so people says I am still waiting for mine it should be arriving by the end of this month or sooner to Colombia Medellín. I know it doesn't have as much potency as maybe emulating on a phone nowadays but it's a nice retro console to play gba games on an nice ips panel
Also you have to use a program like magic partition or similar to un hide the boot partition and also back up a very important dtb file that basically makes your console not to boot if the SD card fail. So be absolutely sure to work on that before sinking multiple hours into a favorite game.
@@thingsnerdsdo6862about how long are we talking? Lol. I bought it hoping to just enjoy the games it comes with. I thought all of this upgrading stuff was more optional than anything.
@NYn00b no one could say. It's just a precaution. We roll those dice with all technology.
How can you set the time and date on the console? Mine shows wrong time, changing the timezone is not fixing it
Not sure! We're not worried about it... unless perhaps we're playing Tengai Makyou Zero (SFC) and it takes the date and time from the device...
When you connect the R36s to USB tethering or Wi-Fi dongle it will automatically set the time, just make sure your timezone is set correctly in main menu settings
So can i use sandisk ultra instead of extreme? For roms
You can try, but will be hit-or-miss!
