About Damiano’s voice Måneskin’s X factor mentor described Damiano’s voice better than everyone: Sure there are better technical voices that can go higher lower or do gymnastics but you can tell Damiano’s voice between 10.000 voices it’s that different and distinctive and that’s what so magnetic about it. There is only one Damiano.

You haven't watched many of their live performances, have you? I thought they were too collected! 😂
Maybe Damiano didn't want to jump around so much to concentrate on the quality of his vocals and his breath control. You should definitely check out one of their concerts.
They were great as usual here, anyway.
I think it's good that they did the performance the way they did. With the classy suits and the more toned down stage performance from Damiano (which is still extremely magnetic and interesting to watch) I think it brought something really refreshing to the AMAs and was a good way to get more new fans in the states. Because often times at these award shows it almost seems like it's a competition to see who can outdo the others in terms of shock factor, and they didn't do any of that, they let their talent do the speaking for them. And from what I've seen by the response to their performance on twitter, it seems like a lot of people really appreciated it and became fans because of that. I definitely think, knowing the way some people can be especially in the US, if they would've come out and did something like what they did at the EMAs, especially the outfits, it would have alienated a lot of people who maybe wouldn't have given their music the time of day because they judged them too quickly by their appearance rather than focusing on the music and their talent. And plus, performing in those suits just looked so old school rock n roll and we havent seen that look in rock in a while. I think, for the AMAs and the context of the award show itself as well as what a new, foreign group would need to do to garner the right attention from US viewers, they put on an amazing performance. And like u said, maybe Dami specifically toned it down because he wanted to focus on the vocals and if that is the case then I'm so glad he did because I feel like a lot of people really appreciated their talent rather than the spectacle of it all. And even with that being said the show itself was still amazing, I mean they had such an energetic, electrifying performance compared to some of the other performers. If people want to see Maneskin go full out and put on an even better SHOW then they can look into them and find it. I truly believe they did the perfect performance for their first time at an american award show.
Also sorry that was long but I've seen too many people saying their performance wasn't their best but i think it was phenomenal and did a great job at showcasing their talent for a new american audience.

It was a good performance, but for Maneskin's standard it wasn't their best. I think they (especially Damiano) are getting a bit tired of performing this cover they made over 4 years ago. You can see they had a totally different energy performing Mammamia at the EMAs last week!
There's tons of good live performances by Maneskin you should definitely check out, I think they really shine live. May I suggest a couple? "For your love" at 1live WDR, "La Paura del Buio/Fear of the Dark" with english subs and any of their performances at Radio Italia Live, many are available with subs for the italian songs.

I’d be pretty tired too. If none of their other songs take off big in the US they should shift their focus on Europe instead where there’s an appreciation for their original songs too, in my opinion. ”Making it” in the US would of course be cool but I guess they have to consider what they sacrifice for it. Do they want to play Beggin’ forever or take steps forward?

Maneskin greatest and most distinctive assett is Damiano's voice. So powerfull, unique and magnetic. You should really watch torna a casa the unplugged version, for your love from 1live and la paura del buio from radio italia. I feel like every time you want to say something about Damiano you stop - so you should watch these performances to get a better taste of his voice.

Beggin' actually goes further back than Madcon. I want to say that Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons were the first to perform it, but I think someone w/ a smaller name (possibly even the writer, I'd have to research it) did it first at the time that Frankie Valli did it. But... Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons' version were the first 'popular' iteration of this song.
Madcon just did a fantastic cover of it - revived it, if you will.
