The Start of a Fully-Modded, Tropical Build in Cities Skylines II | FPB Ep. 1

- čas přidán 5. 05. 2024
- Welcome to Four Palms Bay, a brand-new, fully-modded, interactive, tropical build! This build will be streamed live on Twitch, with videos edited down after the fact for those that prefer an edited viewing experience. In addition, I'll provide all of the saves from the build on Paradox Mods.
In this episode, we'll focus on founding a city along an old rail line. We'll build all the infrastructure associated with the rail line, as well as a custom train station. We'll also ensure that our citizens have a place to work and build a forestry industry and a small industrial park.
Enjoy!

Thanks for watching, everyone! If you want to check out the save, it's available here: mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/77744/Any
If you have thoughts on how to improve this format or any feedback, let me know below!
I found using the skate boxes for planters is best, as they are just gray brownish boxes. I don’t know what exactly they are called but searching for boxes shows them. They don’t have the toys and for most trees they look just as good unless you zoom all the way in. 😊Hope thta helps
Maybe instead of 6 palms trees at the train station remove 2 so you'll have 4 palms trees for Four Palms Bay?
Verde black 2.0
I really like the new condensed format! I think the facecam and twitch chat feel a bit off for youtube, because we can't directly interact with you. At least for me there is no gain in having a facecam and an on screen chat.
Hey Phil, please have a look on Extra3.0 (Extra Detailing Tools & Extra Assets Importer). Release is 10th of May.
It is nice that it is edited down, but don't condense it so much! One of the joys of watching your vids is you detailing and having joy building, so let those parts breathe too!
Yeah absolutely! These videos are so satisfying to listen to while I do other stuff. So longer videos are always better in my case
Even if it’s just a 10 second Timelapse that’s great
I totally agree with this :)
Agreed. I love the 40-50 minute videos
Agreed. But I'm so used to the story elements from the other series. This edited stream series is going to take some getting used to.
But I do appreciate the edited streams
I remember the pain of building that railway yard on stream. Good lord it was tedious 😭.
What do you mean, it only took ... 3 hours?
😂 I do remember this!
@@Julien_Fedon and about a thousand corrections, but we got there in the end.
I was there for half the stream, and I didn't see him start, nor did I see him finish
@@Green_Lightning legend has it that he is still there
Being the "weirdo" who only watches for CS content as I have no interest (or time) for other games, glad to have some new CS material again even if this is like a Cliff's Notes edition.
Regular stuff coming back, too. Just finishing up the next Magnolia County. These recaps will take a back seat to regular content, but I'll put them out as I can!
I totally get it and having both kinds out there is definitely a plus. I don't do Twitch but I enjoy playing the youtube livestreams you put on as well for weekend background and paying attention to it all. Variety is the spice of life!
I'm pretty much the same, but the only other game I watch videos of on CZcams is Minecraft. also, I am more passionate about electronic music than video games.
Always love a historic start. Really wish there was a game that really captured from old technology to modern times and how it affects city design.
Maybe a manor lords mod or expansion could do that?
interestingly enough, Colossal Order's first game, Cities in Motion, starts in the 1920s and ends in the 2020s, and imo really captures how cities developed in that time and how it impacted public transportation. other games that kinda come close are Transport Fever 1 and 2 which takes place between 1850 and the present and Locomotion which takes place between 1900 and the present. Both are also transport tycoon type games that focus on transit rather than city building.
Hey CPP I love your videos and I would just like to say that I myself struggle for time and interest in the streams, absolutely no issues on your part imo its just that the content where a big emphasis is on interacting with the chat and then playing the game as a secondary focus is just simply not the type of content im looking for. Now I say this specifically because I wanna tell you I love the idea of making condensed videos out of the streams, it really is a fantastic way to combine your stream and non-stream viewers and I really think you should keep it up!
Thanks for the awesome content again!
I appreciate the condensed version. I do not have the time available for a whole stream so getting to catch up like this keeps me in the loop. It also allows those who saw the stream to get to review what you have done for playing on the saved map. That said, I appreciate how much editing it takes to get down to just this.

Average transport fever 2 experience
I hope we have a worthy successor to VB… can’t wait to explore the pyrotechnic possibilities!
I’m glad to see that Phil’s love of soft, blended edges even extends to the way he edits his cuts.
We like your mug, but we do love chair too. If we could get a little bit more chair on the channel ;)
This type of video is a big change of pace compared to the other videos. Its refreshing. I do ABSOLUTELY ADORE the story driven cities though, and I hope they aren't going anywhere any time soon.
I'll hopefully make the next stream!
You know what would really bring this tropical paradise together? Some nice beaches. Oh wait....
?
You'll wait all right. For the actual Life is a Beach DLC for 16.99 next spring.
Beach, pls..
This game needs to get some beaches.
@@leandersearle5094imagine having no beaches
I really like this format. I like your livestreams but rarely have time to watch a 3-hour video so having it cut down to less than an hour or so is definitely more my speed... best of both worlds!
Four Palms Bay, love the little "beach" front housing DLC easter egg :)
“I’m going to try not to build grids” *immediately finds a way to build a grid* 😂
super happy to see the city lights view on the zoom out during the outro, always been one of my favorite things , great way to wrap up an episode, ty
As much as I enjoy the usual episode structure, I'm also loving this format! Hoping both series survive in some form (even if we get more of one than the other)
Rising from fame as a small streamer to making a beautiful map, Phil's real chair has gone places none thought a chair ever could.
Can’t catch most streams, because life. Love this condensed version! Excited for this series 🌴🌴
I say keep the full view of your mug and chat in the videos. I can’t usually make the Thursday streams, so having the condensed version like this with some of the feel of the stream is a nice change of pace from the highly curated MC videos.
I know this is more of a recap but it would also be nice to have a longer version for those of us who enjoy watching you longer.
Love the edited streams! I always love to hear more of the reflection and thought process behind the decisions and actions. I appreciate 45-50 minutes long videos, if it ever means anything!! Super hyped to see this series because I can't really watch streams but i was bummed to miss a city haha!
I like this condensed format, and I'm excited to see how this build goes! It feels like you're actually getting to make this one your own
Nice to see streams are being edited down in to considerable sized videos. Still miss the classic format, strong narrative, insight from an actual planner and just a cruiser tempo.
Thank you so much for doing this. I can't watch your live streams and have wanted something like this for so long. I'm so happy and appropriate this.
As someone who doesn't get the time to sit and watch a whole live, I love this edited video! I just wish it was a tad longer! Love the content.
I always watch your series as some TV series episodes, so I would still prefer longer version while eating lunch/dinners. It's like a wind down and calm moment for me!
Big fan of the condensed version - keep on getting notifications that you've been live, then see there's a 6h video that I'd never watch. Getting it cut down to half an hour is ideal.
I very much like the stories you put into your city. As long as that isn't lost then I think it will keep my attention.
I haven't watched any CSII videos for a couple of months now. This series might've just revived my interest to the game. Keep up the good work!
I'm so pumped for a new build and so grateful for these compressed videos
Much better than just uploading a stream. Most of the appeal of a stream is interaction with the streamer, and everyone who misses the streams misses out on the interaction, all the "hey chat, [...]" is just a constant reminder of missing out, but highlights don't have that problem (as much).
Love the content form, getting a condensed version when I can't catch the streams is really nice. And frankly I find it far more engaging with you on screen
prolly one of the best creators out there, always trying to include the community
Love the format! Using highlights of the stream for us who may have missed it!!
Amazing! I always love a fresh start! Incredible city design and attention to detail as always ❤
Love your content, and love that all you've to help city builders!!! 🙌
It's always impressive to me how effortless your cities sprawl to life, I wish I had that touch!
This is a great format! Love it
For the small bushes next to the benches at 11:40 ive found that using the gray brick campfires are a nice smaller planter alternative that might fit well for those
It's allways amazing to see the face behind the content (Art, Voice in video etc.) for the first time! :)
Welp, there goes my plan for doing anything productive at work this morning.
I've done my job, haha!
Yeah I'm so glad you're back playing Cities Skylines 2. I missed watching you and enjoying your unique way of creating your video's. The drama and the stories that you make up to go along with building your city's. So many of my favorite content creator's left at the same time to play that other game and it felt like I had be completely abandoned and left all alone.
Love this idea! Looking forward to it!
Super excited for the new playthrough, even more so that its community driven!!
I freaking love how this is presented!
I was saying to myself awhile back (when you started streaming on CZcams) man it would be great if he would condense the footage, for those of us who can’t always make it to the streams.
And here we are, wonderful editing as usual and great content once again. You are on fire my friend, looking forward to more content like this as well as more Manor Lords and who knows what else?
Keep up the amazing work!
Love seeing a new series on the channel, and I'm loving the new live format!
Great start. Looking forward to see more!
I enjoyed this. My attention span is better this way than on the lives. I’ve never made it past 30 minutes on a live. Keep up the great work! 🎉🎉🎉
Recently found this channel. Absolutely buzzing I did. One of the best creators I’ve seen.
This was great! Looking forward to the next one
I like the condensed version of the stream, its a nice way to follow along with that series even though I do not have time to watch the streams.
Im so used to only hearing your voice that it took me off guard to see a face with the voice ahahha. Very happy to see a new city. Your content always makes me relaxed
Thank you for taking the time to edit your streams into a shortened video!! ❤
i for one like this as an edited series. been losing time to watch your hour long episodes so this will help me get back into your stuff again. thanks legend!
Now THATS an intro! Tells us how the series works, promotes engagement, tells everyone what to expect!
thank you for uploading a condensed version!
This is a great idea, love it! ❤️
Love that you are making these streams into videos!!! Did chat convince you?
Love it 🎉 I wouldn’t mind a bit longer videos tho, its so chilling listening to you my anxiety goes ❤
mfw 8PM CST is 3AM in sweden :c
i'm glad you're uploading these compilations to CZcams, its very appreciated!! keep it up :D
wooo new city! Lets hope this ones a bit more fireproof :)
cool city so far.
That said, I can TOTALLY see people in that little industrial park getting told by their bosses to take something to the dump and just kinda... walking over to the landfill and yeeting the broken thing over the fence. Maybe a bit thicker landscaping around the landfill to try to cut down on that?
Last time I was here, I don't think he had a webcam yet. Handsome planner.
I really love this new format.
I liked this recap and the streams! 🪑
excellent edit from a stream into a video!
Thank you so much!
YAY for a new City Build!
If you need a smaller planter than a sandbox, try searching „Skate” and a small square box will be one of the available assets. To avoid it disappearing once you „plant” some foliage over it, make sure to use anarchy for the boxes and the foliage
I’m surprised you and your editor were able to do edit it down! It was really good too!
I am SO HAPPY to see CS2 content back!
Probably the first time i comment? i'v seen all of your series, fell in love with so many neighbourhood. Thank you for all you content. This more personnal approach is fire, can't wait for the next step. Love for France
I enjoyed the format! I don't mind seeing your face, sometimes I enjoy being able to pick up nonverbal stuff, etc.
I really like that you're trying new things and getting into streaming!
This episode was a bit rough, and i prefer the pre-recorded episodes, but this was really fun.
The music, chat, and facecam kinda get in the way in my opinion though
I'm happy with the condensed episodes; I don't like watching streams and was disappointed that it initially seemed to be a stream-only city, but this is perfect for me.
U rock. Congrats on your success
"To be honest I don't think we want that railyard in the heart of our community."
Every mid-west town: "And why the hell not?"
looks like you had your first Freeway Revolt in 4 Palms!
I do like the compressed stream videos, seeing you just enjoying with chat. However I have always liked your regular format, just because you could tell how much care went into that. It would be a shame to lose that.
For sure not losing it, this is in addition to that.
Not gonna lie, as a resident I'd rather have platforms and canopies at my local train station than any number of palms 🚉
20:35 if it's any solace, all 3 main highway entrances to my hometown are facing either a dump or a waste water treatment plant. On the main turnpike, an absolute mountain of a trash dump at one end (complete with methane stacks to stank it up in summer) and the waste treatment on the other. The two smaller highways pass the neighboring town's water treatment to the west, or the other neighboring town's dump to the east 😂
I'm already hooked!
Happy to see some Cities Skylines again :)
Im excited for this series
so glad CS content is back!!
as a floridian i’m so excited for this
Neat idea!
Yay!!! New city, new videos 🎉
Beautiful map 🎉
4 palms bay. that made me laugh before Ive even watched :D
I can't take credit - all chat with that one, haha!
4 Palms Bay..... a little tongue in cheek are we?
I'd love some longer videos of these!
I’m probably in the minority but I appreciate the shorter length videos. For me personally, on CZcams, 20-30 minutes is a good length. I like to watch varied content so to commit for 50 minutes is just too much. But I know people also like to dig into those sorts of videos or have only that play in the background. Great video today!
This format is fun.
It’s nice being able to catch up.
Hey CPP!
Love your content, EP 1 Verde Beacher here and honestly I have this format a shot but couldn’t get into it. Having the cut down version of the stream I think misses the soul of your content in a way which to me is the tangents, insights into city planning, and sometimes (lovably) myopic focus on small details.
Still a big fan and I’ll be giving this another try, I think I just think your normal long form content style and commentary is better
I remember this stream. Not was it... Entertaining lol. Great work on the edited version though.
I've been waiting for this since CS2 was announced
Julio Cortázar was born in Belgium while his parents were there. Several years later they moved back to Argentina where he grew up. Cortázar then traveled around the world and spent quite a bit of time in Paris. At the age of 38, he had a hopscotch history in politics, in Argentina. He and his family recently left Argentina, and moved to Four Palms Bay, in hopes for a better future. His ideas of Equality and creating jobs, may not have been successful, but now, here in Four Palms Bay, he hopes to run for Mayor of this new, up and coming region. He predicts a great future for the city. Will he succeed? Only time will tell. Regardless if his rise in politics will be a fruitful one, he is happy he moved his family here. His teenage daughter may not be a fan, as she had to leave her school and friends back in Argentina, but He and his wife Maria are hopeful for the future.
Completely unrelated to the video... however... seeing that you've played Sim City on the SNES brings me great joy
