The Terminator slowly looks at him and gives him the "I dunno / I dun care" facial expression in stead of responding.

And it's even scarier when you think about it because as Sarah ran the other way after meeting the Terminator at the elevator and hearing John's voice, she might have thought that John was probably already dead.
Arnold's two Conan movies (Conan The Barbarian and Conan The Destroyer) are both great. Barbarian has a dark and serious tone while Destroyer is just fun. Both are essential viewing for fans of the Austrian Oak!
40:45 There is a bit of irony here. At this moment Sarah becomes a Terminator herself on a mission to terminate Dyson to prevent the apocalyptic future that plagues her dreams.
Y'all should watch Terminator 3 too. Ignore anyone who says it's not a 'pure' Terminator movie or whatever, it's still pretty cool with amazing ending.
It's just okay in my book. It's nowhere near as good as the first two, but I will say the ending was exactly how it should have gone down. I actually enjoyed Salvation though, I though Sam Worthington was great. I do wish it had at least been given at least one sequel (to really show the "future war", which is what a ton of fans have been clamoring for). But after that... hoo-boy did the series really take a hard nosedive. The only redeemable part of Dark Fate was Sarah's monologue on the plane.
Glad you did the extended version. This was using state of the art technology at the time when it came out in 1991. It still holds up today. The nuclear nightmare, Sarah's dream, of the nuclear weapon going off, there are some nuclear scientists who have stated that is about as real as it gets when a nuclear weapon goes off. I don't know if you react to television series but a good one is Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Its a continuation of where this movie leaves off, has different actors, it was released in the mid 2000's but a very good series even if it only lasted 2 seasons. Sure there are some followers on here who would agree.
12:45 As I understand it, here, we're looking at footage from the _second_ take, because in the _first_ take, Robert Patrick actually managed to _catch_ the scooter.
I still like that they showed the cables sparking before the truck explodes. It still wouldn't ignite diesel fuel in real life, but at least they gave a reason that it blows up, unlike most other movies where cars just explode.
That top that Ryl is wearing would confuse me as to where my head should go 😂....It was cool watching the likes and views go up as I was watching....this was a great reaction,
12:10 _The Terminator_ and _Terminator 2_ are both movies that use the character-vs-character conflict. In such a case, to make the story _truly_ compelling, you've got to make the antagonist _hands-down_ more powerful than the protagonist. _The Terminator_ accomplished this by making the antagonist the T800 and the protagonist a human; an extraordinarily _badass_ human, but a _human._ _Terminator 2_ accomplished this by making the antagonist a _better_ terminator.
When the T-1000 arrived and hit the cop and crouched down beside him, Robert Patrick's ... erm... manly bits were visible dangling beneath his leg. They had to photoshop them out. Patrick called it "digital willy removal". (Photoshop was created just before this movie, and many tools were developed for it just to be used in film making. One of the lead developers was Thomas Knoll, brother of ILM VFX guy John Knoll. This was still the beginning of CGI, so much of this photoshopping was done by hand frame-by-frame. Besides willies, they mostly removed safety cables [like on the moto cycle jump into the LA river] and fixed up rendering errors of the CGI.)
Great Reation Video..... As leads up to this movie being released, there were commericials showing an assembly linemaking Terminators and at the end of the line they all got Arnold's Face (The Model 101)...... Sadly, a few of the commericals let the cat out of the bag that Arnold was the Good Guy this time, before it opened in Theaters.......... When it is came out and it was realized that the "Bad" Terminator was discuised as a cop... there was a lot of flack created cause the video game meant the player was "Killing Cops"....... Arnold carrying his shotgun in a box of roses was a nod to the band "Guns and Roses" who had multiple songs on the soundtrack..... The "Twirl-Cocking" of the shot gun needed a special prop..... Rumor has it that one day Arnold picked up the wrong shotgun to practice the cocking maneuver and broke a couple fingers..... Reason Sara stops from killing Dyson...... is she is starting to realize she is acting just like the Terminators and the Machines........ There are (Fan) Theories and I think there are books that state the reason there is more movies (Events don't stop), is that the research Myles Dyson was doing, it was backed-up off site and those files were not destroyed with the building........
This was probably the best Terminator movie. Once expectations were subverted the surprise was lost, but the movie holds up anyway. Thanks for sharing your POV. It's a treat to see through another's eyes.
To be fair about the SWAT team they just heard all their buddies getting unloaded on by the terminator (who they still suspected killed 17 other police officers because even though the terminators were different they still were the same model and had the same face) with a minigun, who was with a woman who had tried to blow up a computer factory beforehand. They have no other context to go off of but prior actions, and they had already been ID'd by the security staff, so they came in with guns blazing based on actions of people who had committed what would be terroristic actions. If somebody killed 17 police and his accomplice tried to blow up a computer factory in the news they'd be labeled terrorist.
The Terminator and the sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day (one of the best sequels in cinematic history, and even better than the original, in my opinion) certainly hold up very well in this day and age. In fact, they are even more relevant nowadays with the emergence and rapid development of artificial intelligence; Sky Net and the dawn of malicious machines are right around the corner!
The stunt where the Terminator runs across the bed of the pick-up and jumps onto the hood of the semi was pretty much filmed as we see it, with no extra safeties. James Cameron said in the DVD commentary years later he would never approve this stunt again because it was too risky.
The dogs name was super smart. The t800 has faced many advanced terminators and won. There is something special about that model. Perhaps it was the chip reset. Skynet presets the switch so they don't end up going rouge. Learning too much and developing opinions or whatever. I'm not sure if the advanced models had this or not. Perhaps skynet removed the reset option on the new ones.
This was a problem with the t800s. Too human like I guess. I never heard of any other model going rouge, and something I still wonder about today, where was the t1000s CPU? Did it not have one at all? What's up with that model?
@@86leewis In canon comics the T-1000 was so advanced it would go out and see how FUCKED humans are as compared to Skynet and on it's own turn on skynet and help humans. It's the reason Skynet only made like several T-1000s, they were the closest to having free will. The T-1000 is made of trillions of nano machines. It's CPU is also liquid. Ever bullet it takes causes damage, if you ever watched the extended cut of T2, you will see how the T-1000 starts malfunctioning at the end in the steel mill.
The t1000 was damaged after thawing and reforming. That's why the hand thing and the foot thing happen. Those parts were not in the original, so probably new to jyn. The ending is different as well.
Agreed. I prefer the theatrical version ending of Terminator 2 as well. I think most Terminator fans do. The time paradox thing is a huge issue for me watching the alternative ending. John Connor shouldn't exist if they prevented judgment day. That's why the theatrical version ending is so much better. It's left to our imagination and doesn't detract from the moral of the story. Which is if a machine can learn the value of human life then maybe we can too. Perfect. -OG

I first saw this movie back in 1996 when I was 12. It has been one of my top 5 movies ever since. It's unbelievable how well it holds up. Every part of it is done so well. It's easy to just think about the CGI (which is still so fucking good) but what makes this is how well the story and acting holds up. And the pace of everything is perfect. It never feels rushed or too slow. Bear in mind this version is the director's cut which is not what we watched back in the 90s. Our ending was much better, with just Sarah saying "if a Terminator can learn the value of human life ...maybe we can too" (roll music) The stupid happy ending is lame in comparison

One wonders why the second terminator didn't just mimic her voice to call John, rather then torturing her.
A kid instinctually lying to a cop saved the world.
Ironic that it was Bobby Budnick
Arnold's two Conan movies (Conan The Barbarian and Conan The Destroyer) are both great.
Barbarian has a dark and serious tone while Destroyer is just fun.
Both are essential viewing for fans of the Austrian Oak!
40:45 There is a bit of irony here. At this moment Sarah becomes a Terminator herself on a mission to terminate Dyson to prevent the apocalyptic future that plagues her dreams.
1:01:36 speak for yourself 😅 that last shot of the terminator had me a bit freaked out as a kid
I'm glad you two checked this movie out. Awesome reaction ladies and hope all is well on your end too ❤️💐💯👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
You guys are cool. I really like watching your reactions to my favorite movies.
❤️❤️
Y'all should watch Terminator 3 too. Ignore anyone who says it's not a 'pure' Terminator movie or whatever, it's still pretty cool with amazing ending.
T3 is ass compared to T2…but then again….most movies are ass compared to T2
Agreed! Was the best portrayal of Sarah Connor since Linda Hamilton. Probably the best of the franchise post-T2
The extended version is horrible.
The extended version is wonderful

1:02:56 he knows why you cry ryl, but it is something he can never do. 😢
12:45 As I understand it, here, we're looking at footage from the _second_ take, because in the _first_ take, Robert Patrick actually managed to _catch_ the scooter.
I loooove this movie! I'm glad you watched the extended version! Another great video 💜
Arnold left another arm in that cog gear.
I still like that they showed the cables sparking before the truck explodes. It still wouldn't ignite diesel fuel in real life, but at least they gave a reason that it blows up, unlike most other movies where cars just explode.
The swat team definitely would not have just been chilling at the entrance inside the building after seeing that explosion Dyson had
Glad you guys watched the extended edition. Those extra scenes really help build the characters and add to the severity of what is happening.
This is the end of the Terminator movies 👍
100%
That top that Ryl is wearing would confuse me as to where my head should go 😂....It was cool watching the likes and views go up as I was watching....this was a great reaction,
12:10 _The Terminator_ and _Terminator 2_ are both movies that use the character-vs-character conflict. In such a case, to make the story _truly_ compelling, you've got to make the antagonist _hands-down_ more powerful than the protagonist.
_The Terminator_ accomplished this by making the antagonist the T800 and the protagonist a human; an extraordinarily _badass_ human, but a _human._
_Terminator 2_ accomplished this by making the antagonist a _better_ terminator.
16:07 "you." -ryl
ryl could be the next miss cleo.
the best part is that she laughs at even seeing it is shes watching this cut first time....10/10
When the T-1000 arrived and hit the cop and crouched down beside him, Robert Patrick's ... erm... manly bits were visible dangling beneath his leg.
Вы такие Красивые. Спасибо за реакцию!
7:01 Kyle said “get on your feet”. Sarah immediately hopped on his lap. Dayuuum they should have had more time together.
Hi Jyn and Ryl I like your reaction to Terminator 2 This is my favorite Arnold movie !!! The smile and om Hasta las vista baby.
The guy taking photos of the Terminator in the mall is screenwriter William Wisher.
The cops would be on them like white on rice
The girls lived this but Robert Patrick trained specifically to not blink when firing a gun. He was a machine.
26:23 "whoaaaa! so sick!" -jyn x ryl
Your commentary is hilarious!
"Come with me if you want to live."
Not the best pickup line, but it works sometimes. haha
Right up there with, "Does this cloth smell of chloroform..?"
@@Cheepchipsable haha
The question that everyone asks "how the hell did they do this??" has a simple answer - James fuckin Cameron!
Did you recognize John's foster mother as Vasquez in Aliens? Actress Jenette Goldstein.
The T1000 couldn't use Sarah's voice to call John because it hadnt heard Sarah talk enough to build a voice model.
It was pointed out how the friend saved the world by not ratting out John to the t1000
21:25 "He's a pervert."
Yeah. I mean, like Sarah doesn't have _enough_ on her plate. 🤷♂
You have no clue what you're talking about.
19:12 the shade is strong in these two. 🙄😆
😂😂
Perfect. -OG
My Lady I just saw it You scraped a tear :) Love you all!
The first 4 Terminator movies are very good.
Suggesting those.
There is a TON of terminator lore on CZcams… the evolutions and types of terminators and their operating specifications. Actually really interesting. You should make a deep dive into the timelines and terminator types.
creo q la razón por la que Sarah no voltea a pesar de oír a su hijo, es porque sabe que una de las habilidades del terminator es imitar voces.
She probably didn't see this version. The chip reset wasn't in the original cut. Yet the most important part.
1:02:12 this is the part that both my younger self cried and now I cry, every time. Men become boys in this scene. At least, we who grew up with this film
Our ending was much better, with just Sarah saying "if a Terminator can learn the value of human life ...maybe we can too" (roll music)
The stupid happy ending is lame in comparison
Good for you guys. I wish I could watch this for the first time again. One of the greatest cinematic experiences ever.
