I decided to follow some advice from one of my fans and decided to make some food pop art...and I kicked this off with some more paper mache shenanigans and made a HUGE, Super-sized Donut with rainbow sprinkles!

You can use aluminum foil to fill in spots and make shapes but I always cover it with painters tape so the paper mache will stick to it. I also do 2 coats paper and one coat paper mache clay made from toilet paper, flour, joint compound. It turns rock hard, sand, prime and paint. I am working on a dragonfly that has a 3 ft wing span. You should try a Jack-o- lantern . I shape them out of trash bags and old magazines. Love the donut!

Tracy is right, the stuff fills in the low areas and the finish is a smooth rock hard surface that it sandable. Jonni Good with Ultimate Paper Mache does really unique things too.
Your donut is fantastic! You’ve had some great paper mache tips. Here’s one more...use recycled hard foam (the kind tv’s are packed in) for the form. Much lighter. Ok, two more tips, put a bunch of salt in your paste to avoid mold. Can’t wait to see more pop art! 👍🏽😀

HOLY DONUT BATMAN!!! This is truly too much fun. I've been saving our weekly flyer type newspapers for what - I didn't know, until I saw this. I think when I'm at my local Goodwill store I'll keep an eye out for some of those foam wreaths that people decorate, and use that as the structure... what can I say - I'm lazy, lol. (I was cracking up within the first 10 seconds of your video, by the way. So great.) I can totally see your sculpture hanging outside of a donut shop. Great idea, Mz. Queen Bee!!! I forgot to mention, I would hang the donut up in either my studio or in my grandchildren's playroom/bedroom. Can't wait to see what else you come up with. ~S

@@TheBuzzedArtist I once made a 3ft 🐸 out of paper Mache who stood in front of a cardboard fridge and had half carton of milk spilling over and cookie in other hand with food half ate on his tongue. The teacher raved, and we called him the refrigerator raider😂. But he was Awesome and went into schools show case for years. Wish I had kept him, was a really cool

Can you do this with a pool donut ? And cut around to get the mold? Out and tape it together?
Of course! I would recommend a really good ductape to tape the pool noodle into a circle. Because once you apply wet paper mache on top, you want to make sure the noodle holds its shape :)
