I kind of wonder what space will be left for third parties, like Refrag or Skybox if Valve implements these feature in Source 2! If they fill the gap they left open in the first place, the ecosystem will be very different from what we've got on CS:GO!

The fact that a limited beta like this is in this state gives me a lot of hope.
It's not even version 1.0 and it is really good, and really polished for a beta
Reminds me of company of heroes 3. I played during beta test 3-6 month ago. A lot had to be improved. Then I played the game on release : Nothing has been improved. Let's see if Valve wants to release finished products (which they usually do) or will they get that fast money of an unfinished product ?

The attitude Valve seem to be taking towards CS seems to be the biggest change overall. They're finally taking their leadership and guardianship roles of the game and esports as a whole seriously. Billions is on the line.

They had limited resources because they decided not to onboard new people to the old engine, now every developer can work on the game as they all know how s2works

@@poli4108 No, it fucks with my muscle memory to see the crosshair where it shouldn't be at a given point in the spray; I imagine it will help new players learn the sprays but I doubt it will become standard among players.

The skybox being an issue before was purely down to map maker choice. It's not a feature of the new game or engine. You could literally have an open skybox is CS 1.6, for example, but it was always frowned upon because it allowed exploitation.

@@FlyboyHelosim A big open skybox meant fewer fps compared to a closed map, also the compiling of a map took way longer with an open map.
@@mischa7823 Maybe, but it could still be done. A big skybox may have been an issue when the original CS came out but by the time 1.6 came around I'm not sure that much game lag would have been discernable.

CS2 is the new foundation the game needed to cement itself as the king of tac fps for the next 10+ years. A lot of the changes won't even be noticed by players, but it'll allow the devs to do more work on the game in less time thanks to the more modern tools that come with source 2.

Some people seem to think that these changes are lowering the skill ceiling, but really they raise the skill floor. I makes it easier to get a basic level of skill in the game, but it's still just as hard as ever to get really good.
There is something about this channel that makes me click on every new video you upload. I'm sad that I don't have hudreads of videos to watch like when I discovered your channel a few years ago, but still I am glad for what I get. Maybe one day you will resume the Matchmaking in eyes / Global Moments series, that would be like when CS2 dropped.

You can create a private server. Use launch options -dedicated +map de_dust2 and forward ports 27015 tcp and udp. Feels not right even on dedicated server. ( You dont need to own it to host server, just get the files from friend)
The removal of skyboxes is huge, I feel like we were approaching people maxing out the skill cap of the game, which really shouldn't happen. These new smokes, adjustments to flashbangs, new nade and molly mechanics, skyboxes are gone, it opens up for a TON of new stuff. Inferno with no skyboxes is going to be awesome. Can't wait to see the other remade maps too, the one pic of Inferno that we've gotten looks amazing.

Excited to see new life getting pumped back into the community. I hope there are some key changes beyond what we have seen. It should still be counter strike but I don’t want the devs to be afraid of mixing some things up a bit. It should feel like it’s own game beyond smokes and servers.

One of the best things about Source 2 is that the engine is that it is much easier for Valve to manipulate and edit the game. Many updates and changes potentially years down the line that are not possible with Source 1 will continue to shape the game because of the framework put in place now.
All these cs content youtubers I watched years ago are now waking up and pop up in my recommendations
I now have very high expectations for this channel. If I don't see the cat at least once per video I'm rioting
The screen shake is more like 1.6. I guess it's more a matter of personal preference.
In 1.6 you needed more feedback when spraying due to having multiple spray patterns. You don't need that in CS2, but personally, I like it. It's not even due to being sentimental, it's just that it gives you the impression of recoil being more hefty, unlike in CS:GO where it's a very floaty feel.
I didn't expect much from a engine upgrade to Source 2, just better for future map making en modding.
But damn is Valve starting something beautifull here

everytime i got shot it felt like i wasnt able to dodge like i used to in csgo. lost a couple of DM duells just because it felt so off :D but its really fun to play and im looking forward to the full release

Thing is, with the new dust 2 mid door smoke they can just chuck a grenade in there and disrupt the entire smoke and just shoot through, but if you throw the smoke at the box, throwing the right grenade is going to be a lot harder. So a lot more strategy will be required to actually coordinate proper smokes alongside pushes.
that smoke clear play by the enemy at the end was HOT
New smokes are splendid. I'm sure we'll see a lot of nades exploding in smokes in the future.
curious guy here, do you still need to do screen recording from obs or can you do game window capture like it used to be before the update in cs:go?
I personally think the changes to flashes are good they should deafen you and its seems more realistic, but I haven't gotten the access to the beta so idk.
I was thinking about something, what if shooting nades so that they explode early will be a mechanic?
Now i dont know if that would be broken, because they are hard to hit, but missing them would give away your position.
Oh god the smokes might bring back the 1 man B setups from old CS when you could stack A and smoke B from arches. I wonder if nades will help mitigate that but I feel like inferno will be another level of hell.

Looks much harder to spot whether it's a smoke, flash or HE. How easy is it to determine grenade type in flight?

honestly, i really like the new features, especially the crosshair that follow the weapon pattern, i think it solve one of the biggest barrier for beginner to get into the game
I haven't watched much of the cs2 videos but just off the top of my head I feel like having a util arc shown when throwing (like whats shown in the video) might be a bit op in a competitve match, but in something like casual it would be more suiting. That way you can still get extra knowledge of where your util lands while staying in a semi competitive enviorment and not just a custom match lobbing smokes for 30 minutes.

the most interesting thing is the source 2. This is 1 upgrade in a long series of upgrades. the difference here is that source was already being pushed to its limits so this will allow the devs to keep the game modern going forwards

5:53 that's the point of real flashbangs tho, it's the "bang" part. although tbf flashbangs don't really do much outside afik so im not gonna pretend like it's realistic or even should try to be, but total sensory deprivation from a flash directly to the face is cool imo.
I also think they should make you deaf even if you turn away as long as it explodes closely to you.

Only practice ofc! You can enable it via console or via the menu when creating the server
