    I bought a similar one, I'm a FNG to PCP's, I used it to air up my Avenger .25, took about 15-20 minutes, broke out in a sweat. I'm 68 years old...these pumps are a lot cheaper than compressors, getting tanks filled at dive shops. Key word is BUDGET🙂

      So these cheap hand pumps are just as good as the expensive 4 stage hand pumps by FX or Air Venturi ?
      Or just basically good enough and reliable for their price ?
      I have a compact FX Wildcat MK3 coming and need a reliable hand pump to fill the 230cc at 300 bar..

    Great video. I just purchased my second hand pump from Ebay after purchasing my first about 2 months ago. For some reason, my first pump will get pressure locked in mid-stroke. I've had it apart down to "almost" the piston. Can't seem to get at that. Anyways if this second one craps on me, I'll have to get serious about an alternative. Both pumps seem to work great in the beginning. I've lubed them with syn. oil so that shouldn't have caused the issue. Maybe if I could get at the piston, I might find the problem but so far, I have not been successful. Again, nice video. You have the knack for a good presentation, good audio and you speak clearly. All those qualities help make an interesting program and easy to watch. Thanks.

    I bought one of these in the UK for £29, to replace a Hills MK4 pump.
    This compares very well in number of strokes with the Hills, 8 to 10 strokes less to reach 200 bar.
    Ok the oil/water separator is nowhere near as good but then it's £180 cheaper.
    It's a bargain for the money, let's just hope it will last for a year or two.

      Hey, I wish I had more videos on entry level PCP's. The Marauder would be a great gun. The Gauntlet is also a great choice because it's Regulated. They actually have a NEW Marauder that comes with a regulator installed. If you could get one of those that's a gun you could keep for a long time. Thanks for watching! - Nate

    • @wm973
      @wm973 Před 6 lety +2

      Yea, the Gauntlet sounds like a great deal especially being regulated but I'm looking for the adjustable power feature to shoot in my back yard and not have the police show up every time I shoot it. Through my research I think the Marauder is the best choice for me. If I wanted a regulated one..... I still think I'd go with the Marauder. Just so many choice's though. It makes a noob like me really strain the brain cells trying to decide. Being on a budget doesn't help ether, cause the budget ones coming out with from all the manufacturer's making it even tougher to make a choice.

    • @AirgunChannel
      @AirgunChannel  Před 6 lety +1

      Most the budget ones are not regulated and none are as good as the Gauntlet. Its quiet but if you ordered and LDC from Wolf Airguns for $45 it would be completely silent. Here is my gauntlet video if you didn't see it. czcams.com/video/mhiDXa16KWo/video.html Its very quiet right out of the box. You could get a Gauntlet for $249 if you shopped around.

    The pumps work pretty good if you can do the maintenance. Clean the valves, tighten or replace the inside O-rings. I refill coolant into the inner pipe to avoid overheating pumping. To rebuild the pump is still easy even though I am not experienced.

    Bought one of the likes of these outta AliExpress. €46 total cost. Been filling my Virtus with it. After 4000+ shots - the pump still works good. I did build a machine around it - so I actually do not have to pump it myself. But it still works. Just need to lube the lower portion with silicone oil every now and then. The upper/outer tube's nut has an o-ring that totally needs it. A €199 Diana pump looks exactly like mine... No regrets.

      Damn, same here.. I wasn't sure wth to get, narrowed down a few. An ended up ordering an FX Wildcat MK3 compact version
      But now kind of questioning the "smooth twist barrel" it comes with, although seem like they're pretty bad ass and accurate. Just didn't know it pretty much had no rifling until the last few inches. But supposedly pellet really don't need a whole lot of spin, an that just slows them down and throws them off.. idk..
      Need to find a good hand pump though. Was just going to get a cheap Hatsan Fashpup QE, but then figure it would be way janky. An end up pissing me off lol and being a waste of money I could've spent on a better gun.
      I'm pretty sure with almost all of the pcp guns, except acouple. You have to buy the foster fitting and fill probe.
      But I'm actually trying to figure out that same thing right now, with the FX gun I have coming. An which specific one I need to get.

      @@AirgunChannel Actually, I've just found another vid using a pump for the BSA Ultra and he only did about 10 down strokes.
      The BSA does have a very small chamber though and this is the draw back OR it could actually be a Positive.
      I think side by side, yeah, better to get a Gas Ram that is as quiet as you can find, but a smaller pcp is quieter anyway. Make the smaller PCP easier and quicker to fill using a manual pump and we've already done away with the Dive Tank. I live 20 miles away from the nearest refill so it's not at all realistic for me to use a Dive tank unless it's as big as a truck. But they will cost as much as a truck too.
      I think for the purpose of the argument the BSA Ultra SE (or another other PCP with a smaller 30-50 shot chamber and a manual PCP Pump) is still going to be better than the a Gas Ram for the purpose of Noise and quick fire. I'm specifically comparing the BSA to the Gamo Maxxim Elite Swarm.
      Still calculating the numbers on this one. Thanks.

    Or how do you go about filling those, do you need a compressor to fill the scuba tanks.
    I have a compact FX Wildcat MK3 on its way, need to get a good reliable hand pump. It's 230cc and 300 bar.
    Was looking into the FX 4 stage hand pump ( but says it's limit is 250 bar ) an sounds like it'll break or you push 300. An or the Air Venturi MK5, ( which days goes to 310 bar ).
    About the same price, but that's not an issue. Just not sure how good either are, which will work best. An be easy enough to pump up fully.
    Any suggestions,? An new to pcp airguns, don't want to break my gun or the pump.

      @AirgunChannel  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey man, the best pumps if your going to spend the $ are the Hill pumps...no contest, so get a $40 ebay pump or a Hill. The MK3 may have a "foster fitting" built into the gun. If so then you just snap the end of your hose onto it. Your hose has a 1/8 foster fitting quick disconnect fitting. Sometimes you need to order a male nipple that screws onto your fill probe, if you gun doesn't have that nipple built into it. Most guns with fill probes don't include this "1/8 BSPP threads 1/8 foster fitting quick disconnect nipple"
      also, you will need a compressor to fill a SCBA tank, here is more about SCBA tanks for you. Good luck! -Nate czcams.com/video/24aGHnsCeKc/video.html and czcams.com/video/j7BCo4lfnFM/video.html

    Would you fill a 3L bottle with a pump?
    I want a bottle for ease, and a handpump for SHTF time. But is it worth it?
    Would cost me £15 to fill a 3L bottle after travel etc, or get a £60 hand pump and fill the bottle myself? 4 fills and the hand pump pays for itself

      It's about 300 pumps to fill an empty gun. A 3L tank may take more pumps that a human can do.

    I have one I got it as a birthday gift along with a beautiful Seneca recluse .357 (9mm) pcp rifle and a box of 100ct 127gr .357 (9mm) Seneca big bore pellets last night was the first time I shot it I have a short video from last night my mom came out with me because 1 she’s interested in firearms and air rifles and she’s never seen something like the recluse but when I let off the first shot we both looked at each other like holy shit this thing is loud for an airgun, so I’m like let’s go get my phone so you can record this shit, but later on today ima grab my GoPro and my handy recorder for a more useable daylight video I am very very fortunate to have my family who supports my hobbies especially when it comes to airguns since I really have no use for an actual firearm and while I do own a marlin model 60 .22 caliber semi long rifle it’s non functional at the moment as it’s missing the entire trigger assembly but not for long as I ordered a whole new trigger assembly for it all I have to do is drop it in and screw it down and bobs your uncle I swear they don’t make things easy to fix like they use to back then it didn’t take much to fix anything, my late great grandfather god rest his soul had never finished school but he knew how to make a living just by tinkering and not to mention has owned several businesses through out his life, I believe one was a dry cleaners, he if I Remember correctly also ran a little repair shop at some point, he got into real estate in the city of dexter which is located in stoddard county in the state of Missouri, I myself have never truly finished school but like my grandfather I developed my own skills with computers with a bit of added shooting skills with small caliber air rifles and even in a 9mm pistol and a .357 magnum but I like air rifles because while they’re not toys it’s easier to pop a few pellets off in your back yard compared to a fire arm and my late great grandfather has never been one for guns he was a devout Christian and didn’t believe in hurting people honestly his only problem was that he tried to see good in a lot of people and I honestly felt like he was thinking that it was still calm like it was back when my grandfather was growing up but as the years progressed so did violence but that man had a pure heart too pure for this cruel world, it’s sad that he passed away however I’m slightly relieved that he doesn’t have to see where this world is headed, and we got that marlin model 60 .22 from my great grandfather which is why I want to fix it!

    The gauge of my new pump is not showing any movement after pumping for 20 times. However, the shaft of the pump is getting hot when I’m pumping it.
    Plus, there is not much air that is being pumped into the gun.
    Please suggest.

    • @AirgunChannel
      @AirgunChannel  Před 4 lety +1

      You have to pump it 200 times to fill a gun at least. Maybe 300. 75-100 pumps if its just topping it off. Make sure your pressure release screw is tight on the pump. It will heat up. Intake breaks every 75 pumps and come back 20 mins later or throughout the day till its full. Don't blow out your shoulder or something.

  • @Biffo1262
    @Biffo1262 Před rokem

    Absolutely not all you would need. That cigarette filter water trap is basically useless. You need to buy a decent water/oil separator. You can get a usable one on Amazon for about $20. The more expensive pumps provide them which is where part of the saving is on this pump? I have this pump and very good it is too but I use the QR inline filter off my mini compressor with it in the field.
