0:00 Intro
0:05 The mechanic mentioned: " The turbo inhaled the Watch and the engine wouldn't boost. Turboshaft snapped and had to pull fin shrapnel out of the intercooler inlet. Transmission had to be removed to replace the turbo. He is only allowed to work on the mowers now. The new question around the shop is… Do you know what time it is?? Turbo Time!." Also, it's a good reminder to not wear jewelry while working on vehicles or equipment.
0:29 The technician didn't mention any more information but just in case you're wondering that's the outer tie rod end that's shoe stringed to the steering knuckle.
0:39 Here is more information about the APK test - expatinfoholland.nl/help-guid...
As well you can see the driver of the vehicle has been driving like this for a while because the tire is pretty worn out and look's to have some flat spots.
0:55 Technician didn't mention anything else. But the mounts that hold up the front differential were broken and they kept driving for a while. Not a cheap fix to fix everything so I guess trading it in was a better idea for them. I'm wondering if they jumped it...
1:23 Technician said this was on a Mercedes SUV (didn't mention what kind) and the bill came to $3000 USD.
1:31 A good reminder to not always trust hydraulics.
1:42 The technician said the customer drove the vehicle back home once they declined repairs and declined to get a tow truck. Lifter and valve noises are common on GM V8 engines. But like anything, if you ignore it for too long, more damage will happen.
2:05 Whatever is attached to the umbrella was making the noise. As mentioned the technician found it underneath some stuff behind the
front seats. He said his shop only charges half an hour for these kinds of diagnoses and his shop pays him 1 hour.
2:22 I'm glad to hear the customer and his wife were okay. The technician said the customer and his wife will be in a special care facility now.
2:39 You can see some broken wires in the wiring harness and the battery positive cables aren't secured properly in the terminal causing some weird electrical issues.
3:00 Technician never mentioned what the actual coolant leak was but what a wiring nightmare. This look's to be on a Jeep Patriot.
3:30 Outro. Thanks for watching! - Auta a dopravní prostředky

Ok so I'm just genuinely curious as to how the person in beginning 1: could lose/drop their watch even noticing, and 2: manage to drop it into the Intake while changing a fuel filter. Unless it's the 6.6L is the only way cause the 6.0L& 8.0L have the filters in the tank if im not mistaken the 6.6L has it under the hood.
@@thorloki5449 it's the 6.6L
2000 new subs since your last video. Sweet!
@Just Rolled In ah ok that's a bit more understandable, but still how does one not feel it when their watch is missing, they're not cheaper Casio light, most people including myself feel "naked" when it's not on/missing(well at least most of the people I no)
That headlight switch is something you couldn't make up, but if you would, it would also be on a Jeep.
Thankfully the driver who's suffering from dementia and his wife were found and are fine. He has a caring and concerned family. I like stories like this one that has a happy ending.
My father is battling it right now. He got it young. Not even 60 years old. I almost cried looking at this knowing that could have been my father in the earlier stages. I'm glad they're both ok.
My aunt had Alzheimer's and travelled all the way from Milwaukee to Detroit to visit a friend of hers who died 20 years prior. The Michigan State Patrol called up and said she was lost 3 days after she left. It happens.
@@alex45766754 sorry to hear this. Just remember he is "happy" in his thoughts and we the family are the ones who see it as a problem, not him.
Just enjoy him while you still have him brother.
That car is literally 2 miles away from me. When I was dropping my sister's boyfriend off in brookridge I saw it and I figured someone left with a parking boot
@@daBEAGLE1017 dunno about that, I'd rather be dead than have dementia/alzheimers after seeing what its done to family.
"Something's trying to get out of there!"
I have to admit, that made me bellow with laughter. Yes, I'm that old.
Sounds like the Kool Aid Man starring Uncle Rodney….
Turn on closed captions and it follows that bit with [applause] lmao
1:31 exactly a good reason to leave a lifted car on the safety-hooks/lock. Don't trust the hydraulic pump's valves to be 100% sealed against backflow.
I had a classmate who died working on a lift truck because his jack gave out.
@@lot2196 That's really tragic and it also happens so much faster than one would think. My jack bent sideways a little and due to the tension got catapulted outwards, ending up next to the car. I was laying below the car at that moment and if it wasn't for my jackstands I wouldn't be here to talk about it. That jackstand wasn't even extended all the way to the frame and actually endured the car falling a whole 2 inches (5cm) onto it. This could have gone so much worse.
A mechanic I work with was adjusting an arborists chipper, requiring a jack to be used to lift up the intake rollers (sharp edges on them grab trees and drag them into the machine), at which point he would shimmy inside to where the blades are and make his adjustment.
He was about to get inside it when I noticed the jack was not going to be able to be level when the rollers were fully raised. Spent extra time locking it out properly. The infeed rollers would have made a mess of him if they had closed from a thrown jack. Haha, I had to keep saying to him, "Not the way I'd do it", because he wanted to save time by climbing in.
Also forgot to say regarding this clip... an engine support bar above the engine with chain would have avoided that.
Dam that rly suck for that guy David. I couldn't see myself in a situation like this as the withness to a fatal accident.
THAT, AND, Good luck with your job hunting...$5000.00 in parts ALONE!!! (IF they can find them...)
Every time I see bad electrical work it reminds me of what my father and brother-in-law did to my father's truck.
At the time my brother-in-law was in school to become an electrician (which he did and now 40 years later he's the vice president of a large electrical company) my dad and my brother-in-law really never did much work on cars. My father needed a harness put in to tow a trailer and had my brother-in-law help him. I watch them at the beginning and my brother-in-law had some of his electrical tools with him. He was using the voltmeter to check everything to make sure everything was hooked up right. I did not watch what they did later but learned the hard way what they did.
A few years after that my dad wanted a new car and since his truck was practically brand new the dealership offered him a very low value. Instead of taking it my father ask me if I wanted the truck he would sell it to me for what the dealership offered he'd rather see it with me than with them so I agree.
A few years later I started experiencing electrical issues for some reason my lights were going out and popping the fuse. After the first time I replaced a fuse everything seemed fine that it happened again and then again and again. It had gotten so bad that I replaced the fuse with a reset circuit breaker. It wasn't until one night when I was waiting for my girlfriend to get off of work and a friend of mine was with me and we were playing football waiting on her. I had my truck facing us with the headlights on and the damn things went out again. When I threw the football in the back of the truck I kicked the back of it and hit the wire harness for trailer lights. Sure enough that's what the problem was. Since knowing what the issue was the next day I went out to figure out what was going on. At the beginning of this story I told you my brother-in-law was working on becoming an electrician. Apparently the part about what wire to use and where was never covered in college. My brother-in-law used Romex wire for anyone who don't know what that is it's the solid copper wire that is used in homes only! So over the years of the wire just bouncing away broke through the shielding and was hitting the frame of my truck.
I had that hard hanging up in my workshop with a sign that says never hire an electrician to work on electrical issues on a car.
@Alfred Wedmore Where do you live ?
I'm a 30+ year industrial electrician and "high voltage" starts at 69kV (69000 V), "medium voltage" starts at 1kV (1000 V) in North America.
...and to a "real'" electrician, an EV is a dangerous source of DC voltage and a pile of available fault current looking for a ground path, that you CAN'T let go of. We had 60 cell DC battery banks at work that I serviced monthly and you couldn't PAY me enough to work on a "charged" Tesla battery pack. DC arc-flashes can kill JUST as easily as AC ones.
Giving out NO information is better than giving out BAD information. Just sayin'🤔
That Clio of the car with the dementia owner reminded me of something. In January when I was getting ready for work in the morning. I went to the wee shop just round the corner at about half 6AM. It was freezing cold. The was frost on the ground, houses and vehicles as it was still dark and fucking Scottish January. So, on the way back from the shop (the shop is a little more than 100 yards away) i see this old guy wearing only a tshirt and his jammies shorts bare foot walking right past my house.
Got home. Told Mrs to phone police while I find out where he went. Found him at the shop and asked the shop ladies to keep him there. Turns out he's my neighbour from a few doors up and has dementia. I found this out after work when I went into the shop to ask about the guy from earlier. Looks like I saved his life that day and I was rewarded with a box of chocolates. Chocolates isn't the point. People with dementia need an eye on them at all times and it's just good luck that this old guy walked past me and I noticed something was wrong. Keep an eye for people. You never know when you might walk past someone who really needs immediate help. Best wishes to everyone who reads this. Be excellent to each other 👍🤝🏴
i’m glad the couple with dementia was ok. i can’t imagine how terrifying it must be to randomly forget where you are, who you are, and where you’re going. degenerative diseases like this are my biggest fear
Epidemiological studies show that plant based diets and getting plenty of sleep and regular exercise are associated with the fewest cases of Alzheimer's and dementia. Exercise increases blood flow to the brain, keeping the vasculature in good repair, also aids with insulin sensitivity. Getting enough sleep prevents formation of amyloid plaques in the brain that are linked with neurodegenerative diseases. Plant based diets keep our blood thinner, our arteries wider, our blood pressure lower, our insulin sensitivity higher, all of which fight neurodegenerative disease.
My mate's dad had Dementia back when he was a teen. Came home to find his dad trying to attack him and calling the police on him.. Police eventually got there and he said he had no idea who this "man" was trying to break in... It taken him about 30 minutes of talking to the police til he had the 'simple idea' of asking the police to go into the living room and looking at pictures on the wall.. Which of course had him and his parents all together.. Taken hours before his dad realised who he was and what was going on...
Upsetting times for a teenager.. :(
Part of the problem is a lot of the time they don't even realise they have forgotten something. Like for this person, they probably just had it in their head they needed to go to the garage, they could have taken one wrong turn and just kept driving thinking they were in another town. People with dementia don't tend to turn around, they generally keep going looking for something they recognise.
@@clover7359 I'm going to eat a BIG cheeseburger to celebrate that news.
If we aren't supposed to eat animals, why are they made out of meat???
@@Firecul Very true. I know of a woman who drove all night trying to find her way home. She finally did but went thru a whole tank of gas and when my friend arrived to check on her, the car was still pinging from the engine heat.
I cant believe the amount of people who dont test drive/check out the car before buying THEN bring it to a shop because its making a weird noise, NICE!
I can't say how many people I had coming to the shop AFTER they bought their new gems! Sometimes they're lucky but often it's a bad money pit!
@@johnnytardes6801 I'm thankful I've been one of the lucky ones. Bought my current car sight-unseen from a dealership 120 miles away because they'd deliver. It's been a year, and the car has had no problems. My old car wouldn't even make it to a local dealership, hence my desire for delivery...
I also got lucky with my current car had it for 4 years and no major problems just little odds and ends (sway bars and brakes)
Me and my husband have a problem with buying project gms lol. We just bought a 96 blazer thought it needed a new head or at least a valve seat but took the cam and lifters with it.
A lot of shady dealers currently use the "buy from home" offerings under guise of covid to make customers buy cars based on pictures and (false/old) videos.
@@MadIIMike I worked at a dealer that offered a buy online sight unseen service. Basically all of our returns came from this service. Lots and lots of unhappy customers. But the dealer didn't care because they got to charge their $1500 service fee like 2-3 times for the same shitty vehicle. Before working there I was rather hesitant of buying a car sight unseen, now I never ever will. Not trying to say everything the dealer did was shitty, plenty of the cars were great; but there were lots of cars that would sit on the lot and get test-driven and passed on by customers because the car sucked but then purchased by some poor sap online who then returns it to get their $30,000 back but is out the $1500+ service fee
Well that answer the question of "Will it blend?"

I'm so glad the man and his wife were ok and that no one else was hurt either!
Imagine that guy. Stopping the car. Having to go outside to switch is headlamp on at night.... + what a freaking fire hazard!!!
"Drat, it's getting dark. I'd better pull over... it's time to turn my headlamps on."
I see the Johnny Numbnuts Skool of Awto Mekanicking is still going strong.
My girlfriend is an RN working with Dementia patients. The HARDEST thing for a person AND their family have to do is make sure their driver's license is medically revoked/surrendered.
Often times preventable car damage is the result. In other instances inuries to themselves/others happen. It is ALWAYS a kindness to make that license void. People often are afraid to surrend their "freedom" but in ALL cases when you suspect it may be time IT IS TIME.
It takes bravey to make this happen.
You act as if they won't just keep driving anyway...
The custom light switch, " It's a Jeep Thing!" 😜😆😆😆😆😆
It's scary to think of what might be driving around out there!
And next for our enjoyment is ............... I don't even look at cars the same way since your channel been on, and I been working on cars for over 50 years and thought I seen it all, thank goodness we have you scare us straight.
I almost threw up in my mouth a little bit but I love this channel! Plz say a prayer for all the mechanics and especially their 10mm tools.
I'm impressed to see a Simson moped. Absolute legends, still thousands of them on the roads 30 years after the production stopped
Its no wonder, all the other 50ccm Mopeds and Scooters are only allowed to go 45 or maybe 50kph whilst Simson Mopeds are allowed to go 60kph and some get even faster without any mods. If you set the carb and exaust just right they will go up to 80.
So its no wonder they never really lost their cult following.
@@MrManniG The 80 is a little over optimistic, although many people claim that their simson does that without mods, it's probably just the bad speedometers. I'd say with perfectly maintained and adjusted fuel systems you can go up to 70kph max
And then again, depends on your individual motor, mine only goes up to a good 60kph after many, many repairs and years of service
It broke my heart when my old Dad got dementia. I took his car keys and hid them, but he still thought he was safe to drive. I hated having to treat him that way because he didn't believe he had it. He seemed so normal most of the time, but every so often he would would totally loose the plot. We should look after our folks when they cant take care of themselves anymore .
shoutout to the guy for even knowing what wire to tap into for that headlight grill switch
Would have been nice to maybe have a fuse in there somewhere....nah.

My father-in-law had the beginnings of dementia and one day on his way to the dentist he was found broke down in the next state
I hope he was okay!

She ran out of gas 300 miles away in the next state.
Dear heavens man!!! Wow is all I’m gonna say this time. I’m glad the gentleman and the lady with dementia are OK!! that was probably really really scary for the family
I won an Apple Watch...I gave mine away too. I had some people bring their jeep in stating they needed a new motor. They got one, but the reason was they filled it with Diesel. Always pay for a diagnostic. An engine shaking and smoke pouring out the exhaust isn't always a blown engine. Oh I hate when McGyver and the Ghost of Ben Franklin believe they can do automotive wiring.
You want to see some fun see what a Diesel owner does filling it with Gasoline! 😁
Never heard of diesel ruining a gas motor. They won't run, but that's about all. Now gas in a diesel is a different deal. Much too explosive!
@@MrTruckerf it came in on a wrecker.
Glad the dementia couple was located and safely back with family. My family was blessed in the fact that we didn’t have to force my grandmother to hand over the keys. She knew when it was time for her to stop driving on her own.
Gotta love it when customers decline repairs and later it has really bad problems that now will cost several thousand to fix or sell car to junkyard.
when the housing came off I thought: fins are damaged, but would still make some boost, probably be noisy af, then he picked up the impeller and I'm like NOPE.
It's dead Jim...
Plus, those fin pieces had to go somewhere, such as into the engine. More than a few motors have been totalled like that.
That last one, the customer was way too lazy. Hooked up custom headlight switch, and couldn't be bothered to run it to the inside. Man that give "Hacks" everywhere a bad name.
Of course those same "Hacks" keep the content coming so there's that. 🤣
Take it easy man. 😎
Hahah if they weren't for them the videos would suck. Take it easy 👍
There's nothing like a glowing spot on the hood when the wire touches grounded metal. At least whoever hooked up the other wire going to the battery was smart enough to put a fuse inline.
Also had no idea what butt connectors are.
Probably didn't have enough wire to run it inside.
Or maybe couldn't figure out how to get through the firewall.

How do you get the diesel nozzle into a gas filler tube. 😆 👍👍
That's exactly what I was saying 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
If you try hard enough you can succeed in anything.
Even stupidity.
The gas station probably cut corners and used the same smaller size nozzle on all pumps. This happened a lot back in the days of leaded/unleaded gas. Several times I put a few gallons of leaded in my car, because the nozzle went right in.
@@BakedRBeans As a teen ( a few decades ago..) my mom & I stopped to gas had 71 Olds 98; I was pumping UNleaded & didn't notice till almost full:0. Mechanic reassured us it wouldn't hurt it..& it didn't.

@@brianstratton8767 I think it happened twice, and was only about 2 gallons in a 22 gallon tank, so no problem at all. There was a Chevy van where I worked, and the guys always put leaded in it, cause that was cheaper than the required unleaded. Eventually, it ruined the catalytic convertor, but by then the whole van was falling apart, so they sold it.

I like the "custom headlight switch" on that Jeep. Every car should have one.
Clearly someone who likes camping or the like. Being able to turn on a headlight without having to turn on any others , reduce battery drain, and turn it on and off without having to open/close a door, so you turn it off when people start sleeping, or to see to get the fire started on a dark morning without waking everyone up.

That last one is pretty funny. I’ve been guilty of rigging the tail lights and the radiator fan to the auxiliary to by pass the electrical issues. It was an old cheap car.
We were on a long uphill highway, 70 mph but with around ten 45 mph curves. When we got to the first right curve, it sounded like a little rock hit our windshield, but no rock. Next curve to the left, same thing. Each curve came with this sound of a rock hitting the windshield. We have a 2007 Honda Pilot with 50,000 miles and no rattles or other noises, so I was worried something was about to give. Several days later, wife had the same thing happen in her Accord while driving around town. Finally found the cause: Empty plastic water bottles in the back expanding/contracting from temperature change!
Lol. As a tech, that last car would be something I would do with my winter beater, if need be.

Sad story about the elderly couple with dementia. We had an incident, i think about 3 years ago, where an elderly gentleman drove down the wrong way down a major motorway around the beginning of the early morning peak hour. Had a head on, I think with a truck. He was killed, and the driver of the other vehicle was injured.
I'm a patient transport officer, doing non emergency transports. Like between hospitals, homes and nursing homes. I see patients with dementia nearly every day.
Transported an elderly woman just the other day, who kept repeating one phrase, and would repeat what was said too her or near her, with some variation.
Whilst my partner was getting the handover (I was driving, not treating), I went and tried to comfort her and tell her we were going to take her home (to a nursing home). Sadly, I mostly got jibberish, but for a second, she had a lucid moment. Literally just a second, but I caught it. She was still in there.
After we got her home and were taking her to her room, I was talking to her letting her know she was back home and giving her a comforting pat on her shoulder.
She looked up at me, and said to me she knows I am a good Christian and thanked me. I'm not, but obviously she is and in her state, my trying to comfort her registered as being a fellow Christian. I'm totally ok with that, reassuring her made me feel good.
After we got her into her bed, I told her it was a pleasure meeting her. Her reply was all mixed up, in line with her state while in our care, but included a moment of lucidity that I caught. She just had trouble putting the correct words together.
Stepping back out into the corridor, I talked with one of the nursing staff of the nursing home. Apparently just two days before she was a active member of the nursing home, could hold intelligent conversations and had a quick wit, and could still walk with a frame.
It took just two days for the dementia to capture her. Hearing that made my eyes well up. That job hit me harder than I was expecting.
Please, keep an eye on the elderly members of your family. Dementia in most cases doesn't come on fast like the elderly lady I just described. Vast majority of the time, onset dementia isn't picked up on. We all need more care the older we become, and it's ok to reach out for help. For yourself or for others in your family. Eventually most of us will end up in an age care facility. Putting a loved one in one doesn't mean you don't love them anymore, or that you are abandoning them. It's the complete opposite. They may have reached the stage where you can't cope by yourself, and need professionals. And that's ok.
The custom headlight switch just needed a little electrical tape. All else looked legit 🤣👍

Ok, I'll admit 25 years ago (I was 17 or so) I had a 1980 VW Rabbit that had the ignition switch go bad while I was at work. There was a Checker auto parts nearby so I ended up buy a 2-way rocker switch and some wire and wired it so by flipping the switch one way engaged the starter and then going the opposite way kept the car running. When I went to school or work I would take the switch with me for security. This worked for a month or two until I could replace the ignition switch.
At this point, im not even surprised anymore. Heck i recently worked on a piece of lab kit installed by the OEM. not only was it not properly grounded, its transport securing bolts had not even been removed.
the one with the guy with dementia is just sad. once they get lost in their car for the first time its only downhill from there and there is no going back. my grandpa wanted to go see my brother's karate demonstration since he is a 3rd degree black belt and is very impressive to watch. my brother found him lost in the parking lot crying because he couldn't find the building

Glad the couple with dementia were found ok. My great aunt and uncle (uncle had dementia) went for a drive..... they never found my aunt.
I'm sorry to hear that.
classic headlamp switch on the front grill mod, you gotta love that.
I like it but the wiring sucked 😂
@@JustRolledIn But it worked! I'm sure the fuse was going to be put in next week. After the solder and shrink wrap.
1:32 that's why i never leave hydraulic jacks under my engine when I take the engine brace off unless I am there, because old ones especially will not hold their position for long periods of time with weight on them, I always put the engine brace back on before I am done for the day so I can remove the jack and sleep in peace
hahaha the Dutch APK you got that right!!! greetings from Holland
that headlight switch was awesome! hey, whatever works. I had my windshield wipers hooked up to a toggle switch before. its all good if works.
Could've splurged for a roll of electrical tape though
Enjoyed 👍👍
Whoever used a hoseclamp to splice the wires also has dementia
Wait wait wait waaaait a second now, a mechanic had an apple watch?
Damn, must have been one hell of a well paid mechanic, eh? lol
I had one car that between oil changes would make one bang whenever I made a sudden start or stop. When I had my oil changed my mechanic asked me if I lost anything? Turns out I had left a big mag light on the cover over the radiator, under the hood and it just had enough room to roll about 3 inches! 🤣
The custom Headlight switch is a cool idea IMO
YUP YUP! Fixed it myself.
This is just plain scary to know I'm share the same road with these people.
On the flip side I actually feel good knowing he’s putting safer cars back onto our road.
I'm at a loss as to why they would need that headlight switch on the grille (assuming it's redundant to the one in the interior). If it's not redundant...well....that's some well planned placement!
The owner must use the car headlamps as work area or yard lighting
THAT headlight switch was custom level 1 million LOL
