  • Welcome to Team Wild TV's informative seven part series on the WFTF World Field Target Championship of 2013, held in the beautiful countryside of Ebern, Germany. Team Wild covered the championship at the end of August and now it's our goal to bring you full and detailed coverage of the entire event from start to finish. From the history of the sport to the playful banter between teams of shooters, for the next seven days we'll be bringing you a video per day giving you insight to the sport, the craftsmanship and the individual personalities that brought this championship to life.
    On tonights episode we find out more about the history and rules of the sport, giving you an inside look at the shooters involved, a break down of the equipment they utilise and what exactly field target is.
    Following John Costello, this years 2013 World Champion, Team Wild opens the doors to a rather niche sport and follows the emotions from the eager beginnings to the tense end. If you haven't had a chance to look into our earlier videos following the WFTF World Championship be sure to check out our playlist of our previous onsite coverage: tinyurl.com/odnrk6j

    I used to shoot FT in the late 80s with markyate gun club, and we would take the whellam bus to shoots all over UK
    Best memorie: shoot off with Richard North for a position in the welsh open we both shot and both hit our targets, Richard then said “ let’s stand” so we both shot at the knockdowns, and I won !!!!

      The wheels on the side of the scope adjust the picture from blurry to clear, Once it's clear there will a yardage indicator on the wheel, i.e the closer the target the more blurry it will become. From there you can work out distance of targets.

    I used to do FT when it first started up, using firstly a Weihrauch HW77 and then an Air Arms Shamal in those days we used scopes 9x mag maximum . However now it seems to be a case of the more money you spend on a gun the more chance you have of doing well.This is one of the reasons HFT was started but unfortunately its going the same way - you can see that by looking at the World Championship results - top shooters all mostly using Steyr or Walther and expensive scopes like Leupold amd Zeiss

  • @user-gi1yv2jz8w
    @user-gi1yv2jz8w Před 6 lety

    I personally think that it should be a spot in 50 meters, only if you used eye sights only, and the killing zone was the size of an apple, that would be fair and challenging, don't you agree? Me personall, I am capable of a shot like that, so it really can be done, and I don't even go to tournaments like these.

  • @acg6004

    Even allow shooting jacket., gloves. It's like 10m match already. Would anyone actually wear a shooting jacket and those huge gloves on a field hunt? Isn't field target supposed to be like hunting scenarios? This is ridiculous.

    Field target is basicly. Shooting overly capable and expensive air rifles 5.5mm at 50 meters maximum, witch is not hard to hit 4 cm kill zone. I can do that in CZ Slavia 631 all day. All u need is AO scope to to estimate range then adjust your drop witch you can easily memorize up to 50 meters.or make a range card like i have.You can also make range card for windage. after that its easy sailing. with 16 jules at 50 meters is gonna be 1 to 2 mildots max on an air rifle zeroed to 25-30M ..Its not hard i do it all the time.Its mostly about food and fun.Get a HW97 and your good to go for a start at a springer discipline.Or buy hatsan at44 10 tuned to 16 jules for PCP entry. Best rifle for 400€

    ”pneumatic air rifles” - as opposed to... hydraulic *air* rifles?

    • @phage74
      @phage74 Před 3 lety

      As opposed to spring. Pneumatic air rifles carry air under pressure before shooting, springers store energy in a spring and expend it in something like a bellows.

    What a load of poncing about to shoot something at 55 yards max. I just can't see how anyone can miss at that range, unless there's a storm blowing or earthquake raging, strewth.

    • @maxkf2642
      @maxkf2642 Před 8 lety

      Air guns have different accuracy levels when compared to real guns. Especially sprinters (pcp is more accurate) small game hunting is done at 30- 80 yards

    I will never consider a competition with sub 12fpe a premier competition. Get all the sophistication you want. All it is, is putting a blower on your kids tricycle. Your adults, right?
    Your only one step away from glorifying a straw and spit ball competition, when Mommy says that is all you can have. You know who your Mommy is. She took your guns away, and you are showing how cool that is. Sorry. You can't defend yourselves, and that is not right.
