How to use Android Auto in a Renault Zoe

- In this video I will try to show you how to install Android Auto on your phone and how to use it in the car. This is not a comprehensive tutorial but it shows a bit of what it can do.
It was shot over a few weeks so the linearity is a bit weird! :)

What happens when you press the voice command button on the steering wheel?
Does it activate Google Assistant directly?
Not in the my 2014 Zoe but it does in the new ZE50. You press and hold the voice button.

i can´t even get my phone to accept android auto, then i put the connector in the USB port it just chose to charge. never ever copnnecting or open android auto. WHY any suggestion
Delete all storage of Android Auto and start again. There's an auto start option somewhere.
Haven't used it in a long while as it's not available in my current car.

Yes it will work on a 2014 Zoe. It works as shown on my 2014 Zoe! :)
You just need to do the update down in my how to enable Android Auto video. It does require a modified cable and if done incorrectly has the potential to wipe your RLink.
Jan-Bart Spang thankyou just realised you have another video. Why does the cable need to be modified? Can i not just plug it in. I already have a cable but i use it for my vauxhall(opcom)
Give it a try. I don't know why it needs to be but it does. It's in the document listed in the description.

Jan-Bart Spang Thanks. Does your phone also get a charge whilst it's plugged in, or is it purely a data connection?
The phone does charge although some have said the car cannot supply as much as the phone uses if you have a lot running on the phone. So far mine always seems to increase charge level no matter what I have had running.
Depends on your phone. Some are more thirsty then others.
Mine charges while plugged in but not very fast. The screen is turned off during android auto which is the biggest power drain on most phones.

Yes.. You could get a Wireless AA adapter like the Motorola ma1 to get wireless AA..
@@JanBartSpang Would pretty much all of these AA adapters work? Thanks! The cable one is not a solution for me, as the phone would need to tangle around...

Personally, I found a small USB cable for my car to stop the tangle. I have also seen people who 3D printed a holder for their phone.

Last time I did it started the normal RLink voice control..
Try erstarrt the app (Force quit) or update
Mine just seems to start Rlink voice too
Tried it there again this afternoon.. Button just starts RLink Voice.. Not Google..
Are you running the newest version?(Maybe the left hand driven only have the feature .... But this would be strange....... )
You can talk to Google in a more natural way, and ask it anything at all, such as, "when is Einstein's birthday?", "play some upbeat driving music", "tell me a joke", etc. Scheduling reminders, calendar events and playing trivia games are probably possibilities too.
That's true.. But I'm unlikely to do those kind of queries while driving.. And certain things like reading news headlines are disabled while using Android Auto..
Jan-Bart Spang True. Just thought it would be handy for people to know that they can ask Google for information about the music that's playing, to suggest music to suit them, to suggest a type of music to suit their mood, etc.
It's brilliant. Makes me want to get a Google Home..

I did but I don't think it's a official app.. I can only find a direct apk download And playing CZcams while driving would be distracting.. Android Auto is meant to prevent distractions..
Been nerfed in the Android Auto 3 update by the looks of things.
But if you stand and you Are connected to a Charger with wifi you habe a bigger screen
