      Please, Gareth Southgate, stay as England's manager. The team needs you. We need you. Your guidance, your leadership, your tactical genius - the Three Lions can't do without it. You've taken the team farther than anyone could have hoped for, and we believe in your vision.
      You have the respect of the players, the fans, and the entire English football community. You've built a squad that's ready to take on the world. Don't leave us now, Gareth. We need you, and we want you to lead us to glory.

      @@BC-mj7gj Footballing legend Pele here, and let me tell you something. Gareth Southgate has demonstrated exceptional managerial skills over the years. He's led the England team to remarkable heights, despite working with what some call 'average' players. But let me ask you this, my friend, have you ever managed a national team? Do you understand the pressures and decisions that are involved? I think not. So, before you call Southgate's accomplishments into question, perhaps you should put yourself in his shoes and see if you could do any better.

    From Opta - 23 - Since the 2002 UEFA Champions League final, Spanish teams and the Spanish national team have played in 23 major finals (Champions League, UEFA Cup, Europa League, World Cup, European Championship) against non-Spanish teams and won the trophy on all 23 occasions. Campeones.
    10 of them against English opposition. Crazy stats!!

      @dilksjoel Před měsícem

      Hold up, let's not get carried away with those stats. Sure, Spanish teams and the national team have won major trophies against non-Spanish opponents, but let's not forget some crucial details. First off, those stats don't account for the number of non-Spanish teams they've faced. Second, it's important to consider the strength of opposing teams in each final. Just because they've won 10 times against English teams doesn't mean every match was a landslide victory.
      So, while the stats may sound impressive, let's not jump to conclusions without some serious scrutiny.

    You can criticise Southgate as much as you want but the truth is that he’s a small part of the problem. The biggest problem is that most English fans, English media and pundits don’t watch football outside of England and that makes them think so many average players are world class players. A friend of mine was so happy that Rodri was not coming back and he said Zubimendi would be a weak link and I laughed because he never watched Zubimendi played😂. I told him that Zubimendi would start in this English team if he was English and he was looking at me like I am crazy. English league is so exciting because of the money, marketing, commercial reasons therefore can afford the best managers and best players around the world, but in terms of technique and tactics, Spain would always be superior to England. So many complain it’s all the fault of Southgate and belief that all English players are better than Spanish players in head to head and that’s a joke. Spanish players are way more superior to English players in technique and it was never close.

    Just be glad like the rest of the world that a team playing ugly football did not win. Spain is on paper a lesser team with less "great" players but they won with great football. Football does not want to come home with the state the home is in. If France or England would have won this I would have stopped watching football completely :)

    • @stefanocataloni9278
      @stefanocataloni9278 Před měsícem

      Spain is a "lesser team" based on what performance metrics? The only metrics that mattered here were how indiduals and teams played over the course of the 7 Euro matches and I would confidently say that Spain exceeded those of England's in all key areas. While stats don't decide games, the final's stats indicated that individually and collectively Spain is superior to England. As do stats feom previous matches. Coaching ability may have some impact on overall performance but not as much as the talent of individual players have on the game's outcomes.

    I am a fan and big supporter of the English premier league for most of my life. Always exciting. But let's be real and honest, the difference between the Premier league and the English National team is chalk and cheese. From adminsitration to coaches to team system of playing and discipline there is nothing to compare. Let's not forget that most of the real stars and coaches of the Premier League are not English. That says something about the focus, philosophy and development of English national football. Lots of 'BS' behind the scenes. Also so much hype by media, driven commercially, about English players. Reality, for every "English football star" in every position, there is at least 5 players in the world out there that are equal if not better, that do not get the same media attention. How many fans heard of the many spanish players??...... In my lifetime, I would love to celebrate an English team winning the World Cup or Euro tournament. For that to happen, the FA needs to be honest, sober up and re-invent a future philosophy, culture and system of play for the English National teams. And then select the players that fit the system. The word "stars" is commercial nonsense. So called stars cannot win without the collective team . I Remain hopeful.

      Obviously this was a very good Spanish side that looked intimidatingly strong in the group stage, and then dispatched two more than credible contenders of Germany and France to prove they were worthy of being winners, before even reaching the final. England looked uncomfortable the majority of the time against every level of opposition, managing to squeak by a weak Netherlands that is in a rebuilding phase.
      It is not the result that is worth moaning about. It is that, as football fans, we can see for ourselves that the English side was often underperforming. Spain did what Spain does against an underperforming team.
      As a Liverpool fan, I would cheerfully rubbish Foden and Walker if I genuinely thought they were playing poorly. But I do not blame them. I blame poor man management, and that is on Southgate. Southgate stubbornly sticks with his favorite players even when they are obviously tired and obviously having poor games. Walker's goofs led to both Spanish goals, but I am not going to complain about Kyle. I blame Gareth for not subbing Kyle at the half or after the first Spanish goal.

There were at least three teams that were considered better than England so all this coverage has an English bias that's reflected on the panel.
