  • This is my second video to CZcams. Very poor video I'll try to do better on my future post. This Is first look at PCV after about 40 miles around town. New Akrapovic exhaust. Had to install bung in pipe for autotune. I'm just learning tuning with the PVC. Will be going to dyno in a couple of weeks and will try to keep this updated. I have cf exhaust hanger ordered.

Thanks for the info Walter. I ended up taking it and having it tune on a dyno. The auto tune is still hooked up but is not used.

Just bought a pcv and auto tune waiting for spring to install. You want more power?? Change the full stock exhaust to aftermarket and open mufflers. The pcv comes with maps for akrapovic or hindle. I was told by dynojet it doesn’t matter what you have for aftermarket exhaust it’s all closely tuned and same shaped. Except the stock exhaust from factory. You pick the stock map and then adjust your afr If you don’t like to mess around with the pcv and auto tune you can buy the pcfc controller and mess it with that.

The idea of auto tune is you get it set right with the right map in it and it keeps it there under change. So you open up your air box or change exhaust the auto tune will keep it at that air fuel ratio. If you change elevation from 500ft to 10000ft it will keep the air fuel ratio the same. It isnt a way to skip dyno tuning. If you ride when its cold the air is more dense and that effects your air fuel ratio. so auto tune will keep it where the dyno tuning put it. Same if you like to change parts on the bike.
If you only ride in perfect warm weather days at one elevation and never change anything on the bike you dont need auto tune. If you go on road trips and ride year round or swap exhaust or anything like that then you should have it turned on.

LMFAO, did a dyno tuner tell you that to get more business?
You just need to know what the best AFM ratios are. You don't need a dyno tuner at all. Just set it to 13.2 at wide open, 14 for low throttle and bypass for open loop. There is NOTHING for the dyno tuner to tune except to set the ratios that you want. You just ride the bike around for a while, autotune will make up a map. Accept the map and then it will start working on a map to better that map.
If the dyno tuner made a fuel map the autotuner would just change it. There is no reason what so ever for a dyno tuner if you know what target AFRs you want. If you don't know what you are doing take it to a dyno tuner.

if you know the best mix for your engine yes thats true but 13.2 isnt the ideal mix for every engine to make the most power.

Does this thing assume you have gas with zero ethanol? Can you change the afr number to read lambda?

I did and then I went n got it tuned by a tuner... only gained 6 or 7 hp from stock... he said the rep told him auto tune is a gimmick.... after seein only 6 or 7 hp from stock with the pc5 I realized it wont help much if you already got a tune bcuz EVEN if it did work it would be so minute you would even notice it...
