- Mountain Dance is a joik that means a lot to me. It came to me when I was working on my book Moon Child - My Story. You could say that my book and life are summed up with this joik.
Filmed in Sweden in 6K & 4K ProRes RAW HQ V-log on the Panasonic S1H & ATOMOS Ninja V
& ProRes RAW in D-log on the DJI Inspire 2 Zenmuse X7.
Edited, Color graded & Mastered for CZcams, Facebook & Vimeo in 4K HDR in Final Cut Pro X
(FCP X as Black Magic Design DaVinci Resolve still
NOT suports ProRes RAW! FIX IT BM!!)
Now HDR10, HDR10+, but Dolby Visions Master coming soon.

The Norwegian jojk is very special in its own kind. Being from north Sweden hearing all kinds of different jojk you can certainly hear the difference in accents. I find it very fascinating. It's a whole other form of art.

This speaks on a deep soul level to me. I can’t help but experience this story as an expression of my journey as a writer. I see myself in the dancer, who is being dreamed by the dreamer into giving him life as a character. There is the dancer and also her guardian, who is herself. The well of creativity is mysterious, and its depths are unfathomable for each individual artist. It’s a sacred place, where heart and soul reside together. Its astonishing truths have pushed some toward madness (myself included), and the guardian is always on high alert for intruders. I probably saw this metaphor right now because I recently began writing a novel. Regardless, the music is remarkable, and the story its expression and production are exquisite! ❤👏👏👏❤

I have never loved anything or anyone like I love mountains. In the middle of a intense study period, I stumbled across this song, closed my eyes and smiled - when I get to the mountains again in October, I will dance to this from my heart and soul.

A few random thoughts on “Mountain Dance”
Does the woman in “Mountain Dance” represent a “primal force” within nature and ourselves? Did you notice the number on her back? Was that intended? How does one live in relationship to these forces? I have my own Christian beliefs about this, but there is this idea out there that this so-called “primal force” lived in closer relationship with humanity when we were closer to nature, when we respected the forces of nature, when we lived with nature, when we were distanced from today’s advanced technological world, and more at home with ourselves. Nils Aslak once said, “The inside of me is my home.” But in today’s technological world, it is easy to becoming separated from one’s inside self, one’s “home”, in a sense becoming “homeless” or separated from oneself. There is this idea out there that maybe there was a time we lived more in harmony with these forces. Maybe we have learned to subdue and control ‘it’; maybe now ‘it’ lies deep “beneath the sheets of conscious mind”; maybe when we return to nature, ‘it’ “surfaces from the deep”, and some might find it “captivating” if not “overwhelming” or even overpowering, hence the “awakened and restless soul” who “awkwardly and ineptly follows it through uncertain terrain, lost in diffidence.” How does one relate to “it” ? Fear? Uncertainty? Control? Maybe for many in today’s world, there might be a resolution to subdue, control, and master it.
I don’t know. These are just a few random thoughts.
