    For me it’s seeing all the different types of bikes and how people customize their bikes. I definitely don’t like crowded riding though. Excellent video.

    Been to Daytona several times. I go for the weather and to experience some motorcycle culture but most of all I like to see bikes and check out some custom builds. A cold beer while watching a ton of bikes go by is fun as well. Deland is super good. The riding in FL is not great but it's hard to beat A1A on a good day.
    Sturgis is good as well but the weather is super sketchy some times.

    Totally agree, I went in 2022, have no desire to go back! I am going to go to the Smoky Mountain Bike rally this year, last year was the first year for it and I heard nothing but great things, plus Tennessee has a lot of awesome riding. Hope to make Tennessee my permanent home one day.

      I’ve heard good things about the Tennessee rally as well. Maybe I’ll see you there! Thanks for watching!

    A few things the rallies do that you can’t get everywhere else:
    1. Bringing all of us as a community together into one place. The sheer volume of people might be overwhelming for some but think about the opportunity to meet awesome people who love riding as much as you and might live somewhere you want to visit on the bike in the future. Make new friends and connections that you’d never make anywhere else.
    2. Vendors showcasing their latest and greatest offerings. Yes they might be the SAME vendors but that doesn’t mean the products are the same. Newer technology and designs are always being debuted at big events - and that goes for new bike models that you can demo for free as well!
    3. The trip to/from can be an opportunity to visit other places you want to go. Take an extra day or two to get there or get home and hit the fun backroads (and awesome food) along the way!
    4. All the fun side events that happen within the event. There are always races, bike shows, contests, and parties happening that are once-a-year type happenings and can really add a lot of excitement and laughter to your rally.
    Best thing to remember is the rally is what you make it for your own tastes and preferences. We hope to see you at Sturgis or Lonestar maybe this year?!
    You’re 100% correct on wanting to ride the Black Hills before or after the rally. The riding IS amazing and is best either early in the morning during the rally or after the crowds have all gone home.
    Ride safe and enjoy!

      Thanks for the insight. I think that’s a good way to look at it. I signed up at your booth in Daytona. You guys do great work!

      @@bobrose3298 appreciate you stopping by and thanks for volunteering. It makes a huge difference for many riders to have that support for free when they’re away from home. Hope to see you again at another event someday!

    I appreciate your perspective. I went to Sturgis before the rally last summer so I could experience all the good riding without the crowds and the inevitable rookies that ride their bike once a year to the rally. 👍✌️👊

    Your way of looking at it is interesting and thought provoking. I’ve never been to Daytona, but I have been to Sturgis. We have a few rally’s here in Michigan as well. Sturgis is in an entire different category from EVERYTHING else. But the other rally’s are really all the same. I like going because it’s the only time I see certain friends through out the year. I try to purchase from the vendors as well. But other than that, it’s copy and paste I feel.
    Great series. Thanks for the insight.

    I agree with you. I live in North Florida. I enjoy the thunder beach rally. Panama City is a nice day ride for me over and back. Mostly the same stuff as Daytona. I don't like the traffic and all the rules surrounding Daytona. Cops and tow trucks.

    • @bobrose3298
      @bobrose3298 Před 4 měsíci

      Yeah, the cops were everywhere. Constantly pulling people over.

    I've been to a few rallies. I was mainly going to see custom bikes and what was new with venders. Now it hurts too much to walk far and I've never been a "crowd guy" plus there are so many "weekend bikers" you don't know what to expect so my riding is mainly with a couple Bros mostly by myself.

    • @bobrose3298
      @bobrose3298 Před 4 měsíci +1

      I totally understand Eric. I’m not a crowd guy either. I saw a few riders drop their bikes just sitting still. Amateur hour for sure!

    I’d much rather go to ride instead of fighting the crowd.
    Bike rally prices are high. 😎👍

    Did you go to the Speedway and watch any racing? That’s why you go to Daytona.

    • @bobrose3298
      @bobrose3298 Před 4 měsíci

      We went on Sunday….no racing on Sunday. We only saw vendors outside of the track.

      This old timer has been going to Daytona Bike week for the last 35 years. You wouldn't believe how tame it is now.

    They started for the clubs, and people that live the live style. It's not meant for mom and pop the like to weekend ride. It's a biker festival of sex, drugs and alcohol. If you don't like that lifestyle than go somewhere where you fit in, not where you're tolerated

    • @m.f.m.67
      @m.f.m.67 Před 4 měsíci +1

      That pretty much nails it, but it's all pretty much tamed down over the years. So many the old bars have all closed down. The cops and such have shut down all the nudity and partying that was such a big part of Bike Week back in the day. People that attend today have absolutely no idea of how crazy it used to be. Of course, I can't hang with the youngsters till 3 AM like I used to, so for me at least, it's just as well.
