BMW Vision Neue Klasse X first look: The face and features of BMW's future EVs

  • Last year, at the IAA show in Berlin, BMW gave us a first look at what it calls the Neue Klasse, a "new class" of sedan that would not only drive BMW into its electric future, but also create a new platform with greater efficiency and driving dynamics than we've yet seen from the German brand. Now, the company is showing us an evolution of that concept. A taller one at that, to see just how that same idea for future electrification would apply to an SUV. The styling is somewhat predictable in that regard, a taller look at what we saw in the Neue Klasse sedan.

Touchscreens in a moving bouncing vehicle that requires you to look away from the road is the dumbest fad in the auto industry ever.

Entire windshield HUD & BMW do audio commands along with redundant steering wheel controls, in fact autonomous cruise ends if driver takes eyes off road.

They are on the verge of uglifying all their line-up where as the Audi (q6 etron) and Mercs are really stepping up their designs. The earlier BMW's were among the best designed ones according to many sources. Though striking, these designs can barely be called beautiful.

The first good looking BMW in years. Seems their designer have finally left the Chinese inspired bling bling design with ugly oversized kidney grills behind them. Maybe BMWs will start to look elegant again. I hope so!

I am sick of big long SUV's. I don't need something of this size I wish the car companies would get back to a 4 door sedan with a good interior. I think that the digital screens could be a benefit if designed properly and take the need of keeping the driver eyes on the road when needing or wanting to make adjustments or changes. I also think that it is too soon to go all electric I would like to see a combo plugin and small booster that drive a generator as a bridge till we have enough public chargers, that work reliably, and a electrical system that can handle the load that will be require when the majority of cars are electric. Many people live in either Multi story buildings with NO garages therefore no place to install a charger.
