She doesn't do that riff in the chorus of Save Me From What I Want on the album and I've been trying to find good footage of it for so long, from 7.10 where she layers the vocals along to that riff is just SO good, it's ALL so fucking good. I'll always cherish her 1st 2 albums the most.
Same with the ACL 2009 versions of “The Party” and “Your Lips Are Red”. I love those so much more than the studio versions or any posterior live renditions of those tunes… The Actor-era ensemble was the best she ever played with, imo…
21:35 is such a genuinely cute and heartfelt moment where the band is just vibing so so hard. and is also me discovering new ‘old’ performances of her. ugh actor is a masterpiece.
the video quality makes it seem that 2010 was 40 yrs ago, its surreal how much tech has involved and how ethereal annie looks in any space time continuum reality.
I always felt it was lacking something on the album, not that it wasn't good, just underperformed compared to the rest. This proves her talent, a fantastic song.

Omg, so great. Love the nostalgia factor. Early youtube live stream. "Save Me From What I Want" was so great and chill. And just incredible all throughout. She does so many amazing things with pedals, guitar riffs, and cool effects and things. This really takes me back to that time, actually

I read an interview with Annie Clark about the time Actor was released and wanted to hear more. Thanks to CZcams and KCRW, this was the first one I got to listen to. Still listening today. She was wearing no obvious makeup and a shredded sweater and the music was all that mattered. Have to agree with the person who posted that they miss this era. Just not as big a fan of the music made with Jack Antonoff.
