    How much (US$) would CRM sell that exact bracelet for, if someone wanted it made?

    Why does it look white? Did i miss the step where they coated it w/ Rhodium?

      It's white gold

    • @mikep4745
      @mikep4745 Před měsícem +3

      I understand. However, how did they make it white? All the way through the process it was yellow and then like magic it was white at the very end. Curious.@@Crmjewelers

      @stevesmith866 Před měsícem

      @@mikep4745 look at the first steps of making the solid rod, its white.. I believe the heating processes bring out the yellow but once it is cooled and polished it will be white again. solid gold mixed with nickel produces white gold btw. rhodium doesn't make it white, rhodium is clear like chromium . it just "seals" and brightens the metal. much in the same way a steel car bumper is nickel plated then chromed. I think,,, im 90%

    • @BobbyDazzler888
      @BobbyDazzler888 Před měsícem

      @@stevesmith866not entirely accurate. Cartier coats their yellow gold with rhodium to make their jewelry white. Depends on manufacturer how they make white gold. Some is white mixture with no coating.

    • @Sensei_88_
      @Sensei_88_ Před měsícem

      @@mikep4745 white gold is achieved by blending 24 carat gold (75%) and other white metals (25%), also known as alloys, like nickel, palladium or silver. Then they coat it in rhodium. It's these alloys makes white gold a light grey color. Even with the added metal alloys, white gold isn't white at all but more a light grey color
