    Sad that the articulation wasn't that great. Fighters really need good range to make good poses. If he can't pose he should go home and be a family man. Yeah, I know, lame joke, sorry...
    By the way, Anthony, do you already have the 80th anniversary Iron Man? Oh boy, I want to see what you have to say to Hasbro about all the QC issues with that figure.

    @user-yd4bu4xw5z Před 5 lety +15

    I'm ok with the scale of Storm Collectibles Street Fighter as long as the figure itself is faithful to the design and height of characters in game.

  • @kalorathekau
    @kalorathekau Před 5 lety +5

    I don't mind that the Storm figures aren't necessarily 1/12 scale, but I do agree that it'd be nice if they were in-scale with each other. Even within the Street Fighter line there are discrepancies, but hopefully they've settled into a more consistent scaling system.
    I love this Guile's aesthetics. He doesn't really look like he does in-game, but the design seems more based on the SF2 anime/comics, which I personally prefer as opposed to the in-game designs (especially since the SF2 animated movie did so much to define the look of the Street Fighter franchise going forward).
    Looking forward to your review of the P1 colour Guile and Sagat

  • @brenoferreiraferreira4409

    The scale isn't a big issue if we are comparing to other figures from different brands and lines but when comparing to what the company said about it or the scale from the figures in the same line it becomes annoying at least and a deal breaker for some collectors. Aesthetically it has some issues I can't wrap my head around, the American flag doesn't have a reason for not being accurate, and there are issues with the articulation that become aesthetic ones without giving something in return. The articulation as Anthony said is very good and very bad, we should look at it like this, when there are sacrifices there as to be a reward of some kind, at least when were talking about action figures. If the articulation doesn't work properly but as a direct result from it the aesthetic becomes some what great we can argue about it but we understand it was a decision, the opposite can also be understood. This is a different situation, in this case the articulation could've been done without hurting the aesthetics so it's just a stupid mistake. I think we can say, with a fair amount of certainty, that this is a good quality figure with mistakes that could have been solved without sacrificing anything in particular, without increasing the initial investment in any way, they actually look like sloppy mistakes, maybe Storm was in a hurry to release this action figure but for the price point they release this figures for there should be no excuses. I'm still on the fence with this line, I don't know if I buy the SH Figuarts, the Storm or just keep my Sota Toys but I need to choose wisely and fast because they will go way up in the after market. Thank you for the review Anthony it really comes in handy.

  • @carlwoolley17
    @carlwoolley17 Před 3 lety

    So here's my theory, this line is not in scale because it's SFII. Not SFV. It's a silly excuse but it would explain alot. As well as the reason why we did get figure stands.

    Scale doesn’t bother me because in the game a lot of the characters were different sizes so to me it looks ok on a shelf, the two ryu’s being different sizes is a little weird but it’s ok, the huge gaps in guile’s torso area kinda sucks but I’ll still get him, overall tho, I think the sf and mk figures are pretty good

    Late comment I know, but did anyone else comment about guile wearing military boots, while ryu is only barefoot? I don't know how many people wear boots for work but they do make you taller at least an inch and if that was on purpose and taken into consideration from the manufacturer, then I'm impressed.

    I think storm made their ultra sf 2 figures in different scale than their sf v line, that's why guile looks better scaled next to that evil ryu. Btw that gappage and that 90 degree elbow is a bummer, along with him not being able to do the split, oh well, i guess i wont buy (more than 2) of this figure.

    It was pretty obvious that Storm stopped caring about Scale once they made their KoF line. It's a real shame honestly because just like the games they come from, crossplay is a huge thing with figures of fighting game characters. Gonna feel really forced when posing these guys next to eachother, let alone with figures from other lines.

    As good as these figures are, their selection for SF characters is getting annoying. There are more than 70 characters in the entire franchise Storm can make, yet the original twelve, plus Cammy, is all they want to focus on? That's all they're showcasing at every con they go to. Maybe that has more to do Capcom setting restrictions on merch, but considering Storm were ballsy enough to announce a new line for Darkstalkers, of ALL things, you would expect to see more variety from them. I haven't been this let down since Play Arts had the license. Sagat was literally the only new SF figure I was excited for all year.

    • @AnthonysCustoms

      More people like the og 12 though... But they've made Alex and Akuma.

    • @TruMorbid
      @TruMorbid Před 5 lety

      AnthonysCustoms We need a lot more than Alex and Akuma. Juri Han is a fan favorite. Where is her figure? Where are Cody and Guy? What about Karin Kanzuki? If they want to attract more buyers, they can't just keep riding on the popularity of the OGs. For anybody who's been supporting the SF brand in all its different iterations since the 90's, seeing them announce a new version of Ryu, or a new color variant for Chun-Li or Bison all the time is insulting.

    • @AnthonysCustoms
      @AnthonysCustoms  Před 5 lety +3

      @@TruMorbid you have it exactly backwards. They're aiming to appeal to all the fans since the beginning... Not only the new ones. Your personal preference is tainting your perception.

    • @TruMorbid
      @TruMorbid Před 5 lety

      @@AnthonysCustoms Nobody's saying they should only appeal to new fans. But on that same token, appealing to all fans would mean having a more even mix of characters from each series, not have 90% of it coming from SFII. SH Figuarts has Storm beat in that regard.

    • @Choom89
      @Choom89 Před 4 lety

      @@TruMorbid thing is, if you look at what sells out first it's always the OG designs. The new costumes usually warm shelves until they go on sale.
      To me it feels like they tested the water with SF5 but found the reaction was less than that of MK and other designs from the 90s, so they slowed down.
      Honestly though they have so many franchises at this point it's crazy...
