- I make a start with the wood panelling for the bedroom. Winter makes a brief return again, covering the fresh foliage in snow. Finally, the tent deck goes to a new home.

He Cooks like a Michelin pastry chef. He has hens that follow him around like friendly dogs. He woodworks like a master carpenter. He draws like an accomplished artist .He generously helps his neighbors and visitors to his time and property. I think I speak for everyone in saying that we all need a neighbor and friend like Martijn...
I’d turn that around and say that we need to be a neighbor and friend like Martijn. 😊
We all could be a little more like him
Martjin is definitely a renascence man. And a good neighbor.
@@PjotrStroganov I stand corrected. Well said.
Facciamolo Santo 😅😅😅
Number 1 channel on CZcams. And never once does he ask for likes or subscribes. Not once in2-3 years. Totally unique. Such qaulity.
And NO advertising for sponsors either, which I REALLY appreciate🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤😊
And he doesn’t do commercials for sponsors. It’s nice but I guess he has better resources than some CZcamsrs. I bet they all wish they had the financial freedom to just produce content without the worry. 😍🇨🇦
Exactly!!! Bless you Martijn!
Good morning ladies...what a gentleman our martijn is!!
What’s the use when only 22k bothered to LIKE . 224k views are too lazy to LIKE.

What are you, 12?
@@BalboaBaggins no, but it seems like you are judging by your YT uploads. I'll assume it's innocent but it probably isn't.
I think I figured out why I like this channel so much; Martijn shares his happiness and it lifts up everyone, chickens puppy dogs and everything.
💯
AND, it’s like every weekend we are invited for a visit ❤❤
I'm also glad he feels a bit more comfortable showing us when things don't go so well, and that he does sometimes get frustrated, it makes it all feel more genuine.
Martin's zen
Lovely Dog as well.
Love the dog. Having the neighbors dog come over to play is like having grandkids, when the fun is over they go home 😊
Just don't eat the chickens!
@lilardsluder1802• 😂😂😂😂
Me too, that dog can sure catch!
Enjoy so much the sound is on for your videos. The birds, the wind, the sounds of your working, all bring so much pleasure.
This is why this channel is so magical! No endless chatter or loud, distracting music. Just nature, the odd comment, and very quiet, soothing music perfectly times in the background and only when necessary. The sounds of nature are enough. ❤ Fan since Day 1 from Canada ❤❤
I love the sounds of nature, and the hammer striking the nail, the saw buzzing, memories of my Father always working at some project, and teaching as he went along. Thanks Martijn!

Martijn, in a world that feels so turbulent you are a beacon of steady wisdom. Live simply, consume as little as possible, eat well, be as self-dependent as you can...and the world might just change for the better.
Very well said!

Oh, the dog! I, too, have a border collie. He lives for his frisbee. Every morning at dawn, he is waiting by the backdoor, frisbee in mouth. His name is Malachi and my one and only true friend.
I, too, had a border collie. Her name was Baby. She traveled over the Rainbow Bridge when she was 15 years and 15 days old in 2005. She was the best friend everyone dreams of having. To say she was smart is an understatement. She was the happiest when she was busy doing and learning. Oh, how I miss her.

We also had a border collie that was impossible to tire out lol. If we got tired of throwing the frisbee he would toss it in the sir and catch it himself lol
My border expends much energy in her never ending war against the squirrels. Her name is “Pupita”. She was named by the Guatemalan roofing crew working at my house.
My Border Collie Asti, or Asti girl' is Frisbee champion in our yard
I am a great grandmother and one of my dreams was to visit Italy... that may not happen, but you are giving to me some of the most beautiful views of the Italian Alps and a wonderful wholesome look at life in the Alps. I am very grateful and look forward to visiting with you each week. I believe that God is leading you on this journey and will richly bless you.

That short segment during the snowstorm was so cinematic it almost brought me to tears! The music, the fading from night to morning with everything covered in snow. It was so beautiful! Martijn really is an artist
Flowers against the stone are beautiful and make you smile when you see them. I’m sure when you get further along with the property you will plant more. Your baking and carpentry skills are second to none, and yet your talents don’t end there. Photography, videography, stone work, painting, on and on. Thank you for sharing your beautiful journey. Sundays wouldn’t be the same without you. xx
I so enjoy your program. WISHING YOU ALL THE BEST❤
What a (birthday) gift: learning you worked in a bakery as a teenager. Priceless.
Martin is a true Renaissance man. A calming pleasure on a Sunday morning. 😊
Late season snow is known as “poor man’s fertilizer” because it adds extra nitrogen to the soil. All snow adds nitrogen. Growing up farmers around me loved to see it because it would help the hay in the fields grow better that year.
That’s interesting. I didn’t know that.
My Mom used to say that all the time!
Hiya 👋 everyone around the world 🌎 Sunday funday ❤with our Martjin😊

Hello Kim, I thank you and wish you a nice Sunday by the way, we have the same name. Greetings Kim😄
Humorous the reaction of the chickens to the snowy morning. "This sucks! Not going out there."
The most amazing thing about Martin's vlogs is that I have never seen his phone. Not only him, but his neighbours or guests whomever he meets. None of them seem to be using a phone.
IF YOU ARE WATCHING AND ENJOYING MARTIJNS VIDEOS, PLEASE HIT THAT LIKE SYMBOL, the very least we can do for his amazing work and content. Thank You ALL !!!
Wow, so nice to enjoy something peaceful this morning after all the violent tornadoes here in Nebraska, Iowa,, Kansas, and Oklahoma the past two days! Need to see something like this instead of complete devastation. Thank you for always providing a peaceful, uplifting experience to my Sundays.
So sorry to hear about the horrible weather, glad you're safe.
@kellyschroer2114 I hope everyone you love and know are safe from the destruction of the tornadoes. We live in Florida but are transplants from Omaha Nebraska. Our adult children starting sending us texts about the what was going on. It truly was frightening!.
@@doragray5376 yes unbelievable weather the last couple of days. We were fine where we live, just some light rain. We are in very south central part of the state. We have a son in Omaha too and he said if the tornado that touched done right at Eppley would have come down 5 minutes earlier it would have been right over downtown Omaha where he lives. Sad news coming out of Oklahoma this morning as there were fatalities there. 😢
how come you guys never leave tornado country?....I've always wondered
I saw the devastation on the news, so sad for all of you to experience. Good to see you are OK and could come on to watch the video. Stay well and love thy neighbors as much as you can. Sending ❤
I love the slow tempo in your videos, the beautiful cabin and nature shots and step by step improving your home. Love it!
I couldn’t possibly live a more different life than what is showing in these videos but I totally 💯 LOVE this Channel I don’t leave comments as there are so many but today I want to say how calming and nurturing to my soul these videos are what an amazing life Mr Martijin has, surrounded by this magical place and the work he is accomplishing.. it is just so Great 🙂👏🏻 .. Thanks so much 😌😊
Martijn that was precious hearing the expression: "kreeg op mijn sodemieter"; I haven't heard that in some 60 years.
brought back memories for me too, lots of sodemieter
I love your relationship with your Chickens, and so nice your visiting Dog. Your work is meticulous and your film making skills exceptional. I wondered why you were so skilled with your baking. Your apple pie made my tummy rumble❤
The saddest part of my week is when Martian’s video comes to an end.
Martian?
Auto correct strikes again
There’s a peace he carries within him.
enjoyed the bakery story, explains your talents there
It is a real privilege to be observing your lifestyle Martijn...from the small to the big, from the easy to the tough, from the peaceful to the stormy, etc. You are living a quality life and you can honestly be proud about your achievements. Kind regards
Small things like a few flowers in a window box, brings so much pleasure. Crazy weather !
Ahhhh… I wondered where you’d learned to bake bread and pies.. You have a wide array of talents and, it seems, infinite patience..
Just a note to say how much I look forward to my Sunday morning ritual of watching your videos. Watching your journey is a joy!
Martijn, loved seeing you play with your neighbour’s dog - you know what we are all going to say next……😍🇨🇦
No, he doesn't need a dog of his own. He needs freedom to go away when he needs to.
@@ivydickson7596 Disagree! What does he do with his chickens when he is away? He has lots of local friends and lots of people travel with their dogs. Too bad you are missing out!
A person doesn't always have to own. He should be able to enjoy the flora and fauna as well as the seasons.❤
@@ivydickson7596 I agree! I can't understand why so many people think EVERYONE needs a dog. I love animals but have no desire to have a dog.
@@SJC49 What exactly is he missing out on? He seems to be doing exactly what he enjoys doing, unlike so many others of us.....
No dull moments ... I just luv how you've captured the unpredictability of the weather in a span of one week, its just amazing to watch. Thanks for sharing.
Not sure if it's intentional, it most likely is, knowing it's Martijn we're talking about here. But this video felt different, in a good way. The start of the video was more personal and relaxed. I can totally see this slight of a change make your format a lot better actually. Personal and relaxed intro > work, hiking and whatnot > ending monologue. Definitely a nice way of going about it. Thanks for another video, Martijn. Always appreciate it. (Also, a later edit here: Didn't realize until now, how much I have missed the music in the videos. I know there's always been music in the end of each video, but I'm talking about the music throughout the video, in the middle etc.)
Martjin, you're videos evoke the Divine- from the pie making, to playing with the dog and a stick, and the snow storm, you remind us of Divinity in all things. I am truly grateful to you for sharing your vision and your life. Sending you and all who "get it" Love and Peace.
❤
Love and Peace to you. I certainly "get it." Martijn is my Sunday morning church service.
That's a nice narnia cabinet you got yourself there
Nothing better than dutch applepie 👌
He obviously loves it, makes it quite often!!
Fundamentally an apple pie is apples ....and pastry.....
.....they don't have to be 'Dutch'....to be delicious ......!!!
ermm thats a apple pie not dutch apple pie
The wood paneling will be gorgeous against the beautiful stone. Love the dog scenes.
I am always a little bit sad at the end of the video. Honestly, I could watch for hours. Thank you for my Sunday morning with coffee.
Omg ❤ you playing with the dog is priceless
Not really.....it's just playing with a dog ..like millions of people do...every day......!!!

Bonjour. C'est vraiment beau la neige sur les arbres vert. Les poules n'aiment pas la neige.

I admire everything you do. Been watching since the 1st episode. That spring form apple pie looks delicious.
A real dutch appelpie, lovely.
Een echte Nederlandse appeltaart, heerlijk 😋
I was lucky to get a Dutch apple pie recipe from a traveller who wanted to swap my hot cross buns recipe. My son was the expert pie maker after that. His favourite recipe.
Truly a man for all seasons.
That dog is serious catching such a heavy stick midair, yeesh!
When the Border Collie showed up and you were playing with the stick brought back so many memories of my Border (my buddy and driving companion for 17 years). One day when I was picking my daughter up from school, one of the teachers stopped by me and Abygale who was laying by my feet and said “are these dogs smart” and I said in a very conversational tone “Abygale, go get me a stick” and Abygale slowly got up, paused, and walked away. The teacher and I then continued our conversation for a bit. Then here comes Abygale with a stick and dropped it by my feet. The teacher looked at me with curiosity and wonder in her eyes. Probably because I didn’t speak to Abygale with a command or even try to get her attention but just the same tone as I was speaking to the teacher. Border Collies are keen listeners and extremely intelligent.
Thanks Martijn for another beautiful Sunday. The ‘girls’ love you as much as we, your faithful subs, do.
Wow! I didn’t know a dog could be so smart.
@@beam-kitty8425 Also, when it was vacuuming time (which Abigayle hated so much she would go and hide in the bathtub) we would have to spell out the letters to my daughter or my wife so Abby wouldn’t be so shocked when we turned it on.
Wonderful and very smart dog. Martin showed his patience. Incredible how the weather went from sunny one day to about half a meter of heavy snow the next. Nice precision work going on.
Hi mountain man, I go along with every one who loves you and your channel, your unique and your folks did a good job in bringing you up to be a thoroughly good and talented human being! AHH Sunday and the Italian alps.
I have watched you since episode one. I have watched you turn that lonely barren cabin into a cozy home. It is beautiful. The dog is adorable. A dog may not be a good idea for everyone but once you earn their love and trust you have a best friend for life. See you next week Martijn. Stay safe.
I really liked the gradual effect of the transition from night to morning at the beginning of the video.
Agreed… I was in awe

If no large, soft brush is available when staining large pieces of wood, dip a rag and rub it quickly, making the stain even throughout.
Burn the rags afterwards because they will spontaneously combust with oil based stains.
