Sharpest chain on the internet 😂-love that statement ! Clean workspace is the key for safe work ! Love that 395-so raw !!! You are the real deal, you share what You do, not making the spectacle for the audience like some guys do. Thanx for sharing ! Stay safe !
Love this channel , excellent content for me. Stuff like this video show something I no longer have the confidence and foot speed to do safely :) WHY I love seeing it on CZcams! Being an old fart, I've moved to smaller and slower iron. BUT really tempted to treat myself to a new OEM 395 as they are on the Husqvarna "sale" , around $1100 bucks. Would be a nice compliment to my 585 & pile of 572's. :) ( Someday you will try the X-tough solid bars :) ) I run the 28's and love them for weight wear and tear. Also really appreciate the focus on "real" for me work & content. Yours and Bjarne Butlers are my favorites. I'm pretty much done watching the cookie & fad focused channels. Same old chit different day ( sosdd )( re-inventing the same wheel with fun for some granted, but useless for me saws and content .)
@Good.Fellers well if you're ever planned on visiting Indonesia and want to jump cut some big trees, let me know. I would love to learn how to get the most good quality logs for veneer. Your channel has been very informative. Keep it up
@jansmits5486 Glad ya dig the channel, I reckon I’m probably not leaving the States as I have more then enough work. Then again ya never know what the future holds. Be safe out there.
I was going over your videos on sharping looking for the files you recommend and I found you use stihl files is there other files you recommend. I have cheap ones for now they are junk after like 2 or 3 chains. I always did my chains with a bench grinder a oregon for the last 20 years your videos have inspired me to learn the art of hand sharping. My saw does cut faster now even the guy that runs the log truck said boy that is throwing the chips had to help him out as his indoor heater took a dump and its 10 days to get the part so had to fire up the out door boiler again we cut logs right off the truck that was nice to have them at waist height to cut. I am 65 now thanks for teaching me something and my logger even commented and I was using the small 562 can't wait to try hand filing on the 592 have a great weekend and stay safe
I am not afraid of saws this size, but i have a lot of respect for the tool. There is something about having that kind of power in your hands. I used to drive tractor trailer professionally, but these saws get me in the gut more than any of the power equipment i operate. Stay safe and thanks for sharing. I really enjoy your videos.
It takes some serious gonads to jump cut those big trees and you have my respect Sir !!! Love those skidders and look forward to watching them in action !!! Appreciate you taking time to bring us along !!!
Another great video! Stump jumping is a fantastic way to get the vainer logs down. Yes it’s dangerous but it also makes the hard to read trees tell you what’s going on. The only danger is the unknown felling direction until it becomes apparent then having the escape path ready. Just like the video shows. The butt will most likely kick a bit.
Great Video my Friend. Great Looking 395xp. That 740 Skidder is a Bear Skidding out that Walnut Log. I am going to Cut tomorrow some of my Logs up. Just getting some Parts today for my Stihl 260pro. It's small enough to use in the Log Pile, to Buck up some get it down and cut it up with my Husky. Ready to put in about 4hours tomorrow. Feeling much Better. Sure do Enjoy your Awesome Cutting Techniques. Be in touch, use Caution in all your Work out there my Friend.
Got any tricks or tips for dealing with trees covered in poison ivy? Assuming that's poison ivy in the video it seems like you buzz right through it without any worries, seen others do that too and I'm always left wondering if I'm just a baby about it or if I'm missing something.
I fw with your channel heavy man. I’m trying to move in the same direction. Did my first tongue and groove notch today on a leaner next to a shed. No climbing a tree with a top handle. I fell. It’s in my blood.
Another awesome video. Love the skidders. Have you tried a 500i yet? Air filters get dirty quick but they're something else. Check out the archer titanium plated chain files really nice holds an edge well.
My guess. The tree will fall south. She sure is a beaut. I was right on my guess. The skidders are looking awesome. The 740 is a monster. Never ran them with the grapples just the wench. The grapples seem to be real helpful when it comes to grabbing the stems to get thwm out. Better than dragging chokers to the stems. Saves time and makes money cant be better than that! Have a great weekend and week ahead Feller. Keep it safe and have some fun.
Yeah cables are better on the hollers and easier on the walnut bark. But a grapple skidder gets it done fast. The 648 will get through the woods real nice, on tight jobs the 740 is more for clear cuts and big old white oak jobs.
I love them big ole oak jobs. Almost as much as i love spur cutting veneer hog walnuts. Something about them jobs, keeps me wanting to work em. Have a great week and thanks for sharing another awesome video man!
safety first. I've seen too many clueless operators. I was afraid to go to the forest with them because I knew that working with them was very risky, so I decided to work alone.
Video popped up in my feed the other day about somewhere in Ohio a guy getting caught on trail cam, stealing walnut trees in the middle of the night. Never knew that was a thing 🤷♂️
Yeah I hear a little of it but it’s rare. It’s pretty hard to steal a tree without getting noticed I think. I can’t go a day in a woods working without some idiot showing up wasting my time.
@@Good.Fellers I remember my dad paying $10.00 a bucket when I started working with him in 1999. Off road red diesel was 50 cents a gallon if you bought 1000 gallons at a time.
I do watch him too, I find myself skipping through a lot of the bullshit though. There is another guy who I used to watch a lot who started saying "friends" every sentence. Couldn't stand it.

I’m glad your enjoying the channel. I’m not lukewarm when it comes to chainsaws and logging.
Can’t beat the 395, I’ve got 3 of them. Nothing compares to them
Your saw cuts so good. We need another sharpening video.
Yeah, I’ve been thinking about that. I think one will be coming soon.
I love cutting cookies with my souped up 50cc saws! But I will still watch your video's. 😂😂😂😂
lol, sarcasm
Your the only guy who i see makeing jump cuts and seem to really know your stuff have you ever hade experience cutting Tropical hardwood trees?
No, never left the states.

Yeah, I like running a saw, I get bored on heavy equipment.
I’m a rank amateur but wouldn’t be caught dead with a Stihl. 😂😂 372xpw here. More than adequate for my part time use. Love your content.
Awesome, glad ya dig it. New video coming soon.
I love my 395 . Thanks for the great content 👊❤

Looks and feels good doing it!
Great video. Thank you for take so much of your time in order to share your busy day
Glad you enjoyed it.
Nothing like a 395 that's for sure. If it had a side chain tensioner it'd be the best mass produced saw ever made in my opinion.
I would say it is the best saw ever made.

I don’t care about poison ivy or ticks.
Love them 395 saws very well made saw, can't go wrong with them, two very nice skidders those are some work horses right there
That’s a fact
You really do have a pretty rare and awesome fleet! Shows that you have good taste! Those two grapples parked side by side gotta be a proud moment!
395 are great saws. Own 4
Hell yeah!
I'm new to the channel. Did you ever did a video on your injury and what happened?
No I did not. I lost part of my hand splitting wood a few years back

Glad ya like the video. I ran a 500i when they first came out. Definitely would consider when I’m older. For now I’m sticking with 592.
Love 740 I had one and 648 too.Best riding is 740
Yeah, I’m pumped on that 740. Big smooth machine.
Both of them skidders are pretty sweet looking! Watch out for the creepy crawling critters, its getting that time of year.
Yeah, it’s part of it.

Yeah I would take a big oak job over any other. They’re hard to come by though.
Beauty 395 we can still find a few around my neck of the woods. I’m going to grab one asap. Love that big John Deere. Keep up the great videos please.
Glad ya like em!
I'd love to have a 395. Hard to justify it considering I have a 390 already lol. Enjoy your channel, stay safe.
Hey thank you
Buy the 395!
@@Good.Fellers I'm always looking for one!
Witty comment.
Stock sprocket or 8 pin?
Stock on 395
Nice!
Thank you!
That was a great video
Glad you liked it!

Yeah I prefer to cut alone.
Tsumura bar none best bars on market
With price and longevity in mind I don’t know a better bar.

40ish

@bryans5339 Yeah that was in the hay day. Those days are long gone. Nothings cheap anymore.
Howd ya lose them fingers fella?
Powersplit log splitter
@@Good.Fellers oh goddamn..yeah that'll do it right quick.
Yeah in about 3 seconds, lol
I would love to see the 3120 in the woods
You will I have one but it’s to heavy to run
Ask for long video on Friday... get it on Saturday! 🤌
Boom!!!
Poison ivy extra? lol.
Lol
Who is buying the cottonwood?
A sawmill that makes blocking.
Explain cottonwood market
Cotton wood gets made into blocking and cheap pallets. If you can find a mill that buys it then u can sell it to them.
Ok. Ohio match company used to use cottonwood for matches. Northern Idaho. Imagine turning a whole tree into matches
We try not to even disturb cottonwood in Idaho will start to take over a clearcut
@toucanvanbeak awesome
Interesting
Thank you for not calling us friends over and over and being too fuckin nice. The real world is as tough as that 395! Hell yeah
I’m a good honest man but I ain’t that nice.
I do watch him too, I find myself skipping through a lot of the bullshit though. There is another guy who I used to watch a lot who started saying "friends" every sentence. Couldn't stand it.
Yeah, it’s weird to me.
I like buckin but he got all salty about me making a chainsaw filing video, so much for the nice guy act.
@@Good.Fellersdo tell😂

Your speaking about safety but your alone while out cutting. Not smart
