'Think it's a kettle... to boil water' 🤣 Like you'd discovered a rare species in the Amazon.
😭
So insightful. 😂😂😂👏
I felt exactly like you, Matt, I felt sad watching the video. You just know that this guy had so much fun outfitting his car, thinking about the details, being meticulous in documenting maintenance. And then he just passes. That’s sad.
I hope he had many good experiences with it and that he enjoyed driving it, keeping it tidy and installing stuff. No one will appreciate what you did to your car more than yourself.
Was a bittersweet video to watch as someone with a kitted out D40 Navara, though not to this extent. I can appreciate, at least somewhat, how the previous owner thought about their vehicle and the experiences they've had.
I agree with you.
Well said 💅
Dude, true, right in the feelings....As I get older I hope that people had fun with their stuff instead of just passing on to the next one in mint condition....
i feel like the previous owner was a very resourceful chap
In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death, taxes and the Wonder Grip van parked up there 😉
Whatever substance Wonder Grip is, it has obviously leaked out of the van and glued it firmly to that spot.
Yess it’s still there lol 😂
i'm sure there was just one vid when it wasn't there so just death and taxes then.
And Mat saying “I’ve massively overspent “
It has a wonderful grip on its parking spot
Right judging by your reactions in this video. I think you should do a camping trip on the channel. It would make a hilariously entertaining episode and a fantastic learning experience.
He could invite Freddie Flintoff and Paddy McGuinness along as well.
@@maninthestreet01 I like your sarcasm.
Matt already has. He took a VW campervan out for a night's camping. Look it up, it wasn't his idea of fun.
@@peakpanther5136 Wouldn't be mine either.
A kettle... to boil water!🤔 watch out Sherlock Holmes, Matt's in town!😂
It's a voyage of discovery
Indiana Jones can retire now!
😂😂😂😂
The person that owned this vehicle lived a life many on here can only dream of...respect to that person and his family.
I'm still doing it for the moment but none of us knows....isn't that the adventure 😁
The folding shovel is for burying what you dont want to take with you, given there is no cassette loo.....!
... and the fabric conditioner bottle is for you-know-what. Glad Matt didn't take the top off it!
That draw set in the back would cost you £500 on its own now.
I am thinking the same, plus the roof rack
Drawer. Draw is something you do with a pencil.
@@DrummerboyUK1 so I am dyslexic, live with it. 🙄
@@frogmaster83I'm not - try and learn from it.
I think I know what the fabric softener bottle was used for.
Haha, I think we're on the same wavelength😂
As a tower crane operator I definitely know what it is for... 😂
I think the term is "en suite"
Truck drivers Tizer
I guess you mean washing your smalls in the river, right? No?
I can indeed confirm that was a fold up shovel…useful on an expedition. I was given one as a Christmas present a couple of years ago…now, bearing in mind I’m approaching 70…I drive an old Toyota Avensis and rarely venture beyond the local shops my use for it was always going to be limited…but the joyful surprise I mustered on being given it was worthy of an Oscar and although this reaction was an act it was an act of love. ❤️
Bit like socks?
@@davidoldboy5425 In the same ballpark.
For burying your turds
To bury a turd in a shallow grave. 💩
It's not a "fold up shovel" 😄😄 - it's an Entrenching Tool
Matt, thanks for your help we appreciate it a lot!!!
Greetings from the south of Ukraine!!!
Wishing you a speedy win mate also Putin gets elephantitis of his genitalia region 👍👍
Slava Ukraine!
Slava Ukraine ❤💪
Slave Russia 🇷🇺.
Loved this, the car has so much history. I know the previous owner probably had so many happy memories in that. Looked like it was more than a car but someone’s life
Once again. You have to be the best CZcamsr car related on CZcams! You don't post once a week like most other you tubers. Once they start getting the money. They post once a week... Or even once a month... And you earn a few quid from this channel. But you post regular. You should be proud of yourself mate
Absolutely love these cheaper episodes.
Me too. Brilliant channel.
Just want to say Matt I know you probably don’t make these videos to directly promote your own biz but it massively helps -> I would 10000% buy from you without a shadow of a doubt based off of the trust I’ve built from your channel here. Thank you!
... but not this particular example, it's the "rust" in trust that would worry me!
I’d be happy buying from him too.
I'd give him his £500 back on it because I reckon I could save it.
Buffalo, NY, USA here and I will absolutely buy this and import it. Take my money!
It's RHD.
You would have a hard time getting it registered, never mind the thousands on shipping costs and taxes.
You'll have to wait until 2027 to import a 2002. Must be 25yo.
Why would you go to the time and expense when Nissan Frontiers are a dime a dozen and we're actually for sale in the United States so you can get parts and service easily.
Do you follow Mav on CZcams?
6:51 ~ That's a really good tea kettle, Matt. That's usually made out of Titanium. But can be found made from basic aluminum too.
8:02 ~ That is a folding entrenching tool. Copy of the Gerber design that used to be (perhaps still is) standard-issue in the U.S. Army. Campers often use one to dig temporary trenches for use as an improvised bathroom (not for urine). Then they fill in the trenches with dirt afterwards, to bury their "business." Using one is easy. Don't extend it all the way. Just mostly so. Keep the head at a 90-degree angle pointed down. Stand with feet wide apart. Bend at the waist. 2-hand hold on the horizontal handle. Slam the tip of the head into the dirt as hard as you can, then pull back towards you to create the deep trench.
What to do with it? Another vote for donating it to your Ukrainian friend. I'm sure he'll be happy to take it off your hands. Even if he has to tow it to where it needs to go before getting shipped over. Hopefully it survives longer than that Mitsubishi SUV you donated.
When I see the word Navara mentioned, it reminds me of the one that splits into two.
The roof box and the roof rack would be worth nearly as much as the car!
Matt your sarcasm makes these videos so much more enjoyable as opposed to someone being completely boring and dull, keep it up mate your my inspiration and I’m sure others too
Brilliant video Matt. Proper Aladdin's cave on wheels. That Navara was clearly some outdoorsman's loyal companion for loads of adventures no doubt 👍
Keep it do the welding and use it for summer trips with a bit of off roading thrown in. Those roof racks are worth a pretty penny
The fact that the top box was open
May have been robbed whilst parked.
Would do someone proud
It is Stockport after all.....
Or left open so it doesn’t get damaged to find nothing, like truck drivers do with trailers
Matt a big shout out to you for the Car Vertical discount . Bought a 2013 Ford Focus and after a quick check on Car Vertical I handed over my cash and I am very pleased with my new car. I Recently subscribed and really enjoy your reviews . All the best Rick
My fave vid of yours by a country mile. Just have to respect these old trucks that were actually driven and used like they were supposed to. Bet the old fella had a load of adventures in it and was a fairly independent self sufficient guy. Fishing camping and cooking.
Matt it just needs a good buff, valet, fresh set of plates, new tyres, service and itl be right as rain :)
"....I've massively overspent" incoming
Tres Bien! collapsable spade for fighting off the crazies in the jungles of the UK!
You truly make my day and night I love all your videos keep up the great work ❤❤ Matt
Might be my favorite episode. Great adventure going through all the random stuff inside.
The best 'Matts' adventures video yet😅
You were in your element with that one 😁👍
Great video as always.
Looking forward to the next🙂
You'd get a few quid for that roof rack, and if the Kamei roof box is OK once hot jetwashed, the box, rack and the scrap value of the car will get your money back.
Off-road it like you did with the Jeep Cherokee! Great video as always Matt! Always look forward to these 'I bought a cheap...' videos!
You did your best. In certain parts of the world where labour is far cheaper and MoT approval is as scarce as water is locally to them, this vehicle would be welded back up and kept going for another decade at least. Thanks for the video and giving it a go.
Hello Matt, thank you for taking the time to upload another video. As others have said the kit inside the truck might be worth a few quid. Ged.
I love this channel Matt....and now proper comedy to boot!
Love this episode! More of this pls!
There is nothing better than waking up in Australia bit dusty reaching for the phone & c Matty!!! I was waiting for old owner 2 resurface in all those compartments of kit. & then M 21:41 mentioned Ukraine & l nearly..... LOVE M & HPA!!! Thanks again for your content BTW that jaguar is a nice unit❤
That is a vehicle that's served it's purpose and lived its life. It would have brought good times to its previous owners. I'm a sappy old sod, but I liked seeing a bit of the history of this car.
Another top video, Matt👍
Keep up the good work...great videos! your show room is worth my visit soon..... as im due an upgrade on my car ❤
Matt these videos acc make my day always wishing you the best 1 million by the end of the year 📈
Ur loving that jag lately Matt 😂 what a machine. That old nissan is some yok 😮 really enjoy these videos the cheaper the better for entertainment purposes 😂
Good effort Matt. Has usual you made the right choice.
Welcome to High Peak, where we root around in other peoples stuff! 😁😁😂😂🥳🥳
Storage Wars, High Peaks edition :)))! Great episode, mate!
Nice job as always
Hi folks what a lovely 📹 video very interesting and we had some chuckles on the way 🎉
I like the overall videoquality and the aspect ratio, everybody should do it like this.Especially on my phone,I hate having huge bezels.
Feel like I’ve just watched storage hunters on wheels, specifically the bit when they go through everything in the lot that they’ve bought to decipher if it’s gold or just old 😂
Wow. Great truck, great stories, just great. He must have had so many trips in it. But, I agree it's sad. It's like documenting someone's life. A strange video, but one of the best you've done.
A mate of mine has a similar rig for fishing, he's had it a while and has set it up just how he likes it,bed ,cooking stove,12v cool box etc,not worth a lot of money, but to him it's priceless.
Enjoying your videos, keep them coming!
"Well today I've bought something very unusual".......£500....no MOT.....Moss and Matts favourite thing....Mould!!!!
The makings of another great video👍.
I'm guessing 'key' Matt words will feature...spend, over, this, why? and do🙄.
Thanks for the videos Matt.
Running cross dale & glen with your net camping it up a treat, happy happy days Matt 😂😂😂😂
Fascinating video Matt, love to know what became of it ?
Definitely roof box and stuff in the car worth more than you paid for car,car is just bonus 👌i really enjoy watching your videos! Keep it same way please nobody does it like you!
Another brilliant upload Matt really enjoyed it just a pity the ending wasn’t a happy ending 😢
Great video Matt, but sad as well, the previous owner had lots of adventures in that vehicle, that truck needs to live on,it can't end here, the look of it,the draws in the back,it's a fab looking thing, welding can be done, and what an exploration vehicle you'd have for a fraction of the price of a new land cruiser, keep it Matt, what a video you could make taking it to Scotland wild camping perhaps with your brother ??
You love a good pair of sunglasses Matt.
When's the "High Peak Shades" channel launching? 😎
So many cars on your channel that just come and go. This one though had a story to tell, as you were going around the car, you got a sense of the previous owner and some of the adventures that the Nissan could have been on. A sad one, I knew it would end as a scrapper from the start.
That collapsible shovel is a nice piece of kit :D
Well said Sir 👍.
Me and the kids would love this!
Perfect Pick up for Kenya - East Africa, we got plenty of these Navaras here, cheap to run and maintain.
Sadly age limit for car imports to Kenya is seven years!
It'll be worth more as parts bin, plus the other goodies in the car. You should still turn a small profit. You never know. Thanks for sharing.
Fun fact - the D22 continued to be produced here in South Africa until about 2 or 3 years ago. Remained very popular due to their toughness and relatively low cost. They were upgraded with the newer YD25 turbo diesel engines from later Navaras, but were known locally simply as the “Hardbody”. That hardbody, so to speak, was probably the reason for them being discontinued. About four years back, some safety oversight body crash tested them against the latest modern standards, and gave them a zero safety rating. Apparently, the people inside became the crumple zones.
Thank you for your help!
Cheers from Ukraine!
You're welcome!
Some of us will remember your VW camper van experience Matt ..... I don't somehow see you enjoying a few days in the highlands of Scotland in that Navara. Me on the other hand I wouldn't be seen for weeks let alone days. Would love to have something like that. ATB
Great presenting / commentary Matt as always, always watchable videos even if the subject car is a Nissan but tbh Matt I would always prefer to stare at the car that you drive to the car park usually. One of your stunning JLRs like your Rangie or your XKR 👌😇
Hi matt, great video, at least you got away with out spending two much money lol, from marty in Belfast northern Ireland God bless
Nice to see you’re still driving the XKR . Was there a hole in the bucket,Delilah ? Great video.
I watched for 6:10min wondering what car you were driving. Satisfying!
Genuine belly laughs yet again! Best one yet I'd say!
Great car - so ahead of its time with it's touch screen speedo!
Mot is not a problem £60 and is sorted....
Hi Matt followed it to the end . You should have looked in the old map book he might have written down the places he visited also you missed opening the black tool box behind the seat. Hope your friend takes it on board a good welder is required
I can confirm the fabric softener bottle was not for fabric softening but a urinal for urinating in.
Definitely would've had more value to it in my opinion if it was a crew cab (4dr). I really don't comment much but love your cheap content Matt, I can definitely see the effort put into them.
I can only assume you've massively overspent on this as a project to give to someone, so that it can endure a longer adventure, and visit new places.
More 4x4 / pick up vids pls!
That would be good.
I’d love to see if you can get a bargain and how they are to run. The running costs puts me off them although I’d love either or.
@@sports872i agree, would love to see some 90’s/ early 00’s 4x4’s, i got a cheap discovery 3 and its cost thousands since November, the welding was the killer
Love the service history folder , I have one put together with over $6000 worth of work I’ve done in the short 9 months I’ve had my Aussie built 07 ford falcon , has had some work done prior to purchase but no history . Had some prior in a book but there’s 100000 km worth missing . It’s like a new car now though .
This must be one of the most interesting vehicles you’ve ever had on the channel Matt❤.
The pull out drawers are smart , like the idea you can just pitch up and heat up some food or water...
Love the videos….. we were falling around laughing when you were trying to work out if it was a folding shovel! All wild campers have them for digging a hole to bury the poo!!🤣🤣
Three hours and over 25,000 views! That's an old Navara for you. ;-) Good on you for looking at donating it.
The small shovel could have been used for what we in the army referred to as a 'shovel recce'. Think about it , camping in the middle of nowhere!
Dig dump fill .
Hey Matt!! I love your videos very educational! Im starting to buy and sell a few cars. Do you always try to buy original matts on cars or just cheap ones off ebay? also struggling to find a good body work shop that has a fair price. other than that loving it. Its part time as i work full time. currently have an sline a6 2011 and ford mondeo 2014 for sale prepping them right now. Strongly considering autopeaksacademy to learn more! Cheers from ireland!
Its a Kettle xD, that got me Matt hahhaah
Great video and decision as always :D
I know that farmers are always on the look out for cheap working pick up trucks. Farms are private property so of course no MOT is needed.
My favourite YT channel...loving it,
Come on everyone......own up ........whos Googled wonder grip 😂😂
Just after you said, "I don't know what should I do with it now" I thought "dude, just send it to Ukraine" and then you said this)) With love from Ukrainian subscriber we appreciate what you are doing to help Ukraine. And welcome to Ukraine after our victory
No men left. Ammo running out. It was over before it started.
Watching you talk about camping 😂 I can tell how many times you haven't been camping. Great car great video as always.
Can you please please do a VW Sharan or seat Alhambra.
Big family mpvs. I'm currently in the market and would love to hear your pov
I love seeing a truck that was use exactly as it was designed to be used. Such a rarity nowadays
Previous owner may have used it in the mountains skiing roof box for ski s ,boot grippers for snow ice. keep the previous owners spirit alive. Do it up & use it make great yt content !
A collapsible spade, known here as a 'jobbie spade'
Oh Matt, 😂here in Australia the word To Root or Rooting has a totally different meaning the little gauge you didn’t know was a auxiliary battery volt meter and a fold up spade is a must in Aussie 4x4s
I think you should get it welded and running right, then send it to your mate to help others in need, I’m sure your business can afford it plus the video would be good
This is extremely cool a mattress in the back and I'd be away the mould isn't an issue a good detailer would have that looking like new you've a bargain there
What a great set up
You got a good heart, Matt.
