Driving any Bugatti Veyron is a once in a lifetime opportunity, but the new Vitesse is the most exciting of them all. Based on the open-top Grand Sport it's fitted with the more powerful 1,183bhp engine from the Super Sport Coupe, and with the roof removed you feel millimetres from the action.
Top speed is 255mhp, 0-62mph takes 2.6 seconds and if you want one you'll need to find £1.6m.
So it was with some trepidation that we took the car for a blast on public roads and had the chance to experience 200mph-plus on a closed track. Strap yourselves in, turn the volume up and enjoy the video. - Auta a dopravní prostředky

The noise from the turbo, that "whoosh" sound is not from the wastegate, but from the blow of valve...

Those are not wastegates. What you're hearing is the blow off valve (diverter valves in this case). AKA dump value.
Because anyone with half a mil can have an aventador TT, but this... This is a statement. It is a rare beast, which can't be seen that often. The Aventador TT is simmilar to the regular one, so you can't spot the difference. But this leaves a mark.

Koenigsegg apparently are heavily influenced by Bugatti according to JOKBO1's comment. That point only show the Veyron already did those (like riding 260 km/h straight with hand off) since its production (in 2005). In addition, the ability to brake from 320-0 km/h is one of unique features.

If I drove any variation of the Veyron my head would be welded to the headrest every time I planted the throttle!
Don't complain about the price. It costs VW around 5 million euros to produce a veyron. They sell it for 1 million euros (standard veyron). They make a loss on each one, so don't complain. It's an astonishing car, well worth its price.
good sounding indeed.. but i still like the sound of opening waste gates more... personal preference really....
I totally agree I would get the lambo any day over the corvette thats the point I was trying to get across to the other guy, the price is irrelevant its all about how the car makes you feel and the driving experience not just how fast the car is

It is diverter valve(s), neither wastegate(s) nor blow off valve(s).

Just the convertible version of the supersport :) Its called Vitesse
VW should offer a Bugatti top speed run on their track as a package for Veyron buyers, considering the price of the car and really, it's a waste for it to just sit around the garage or travelling at 30mph around London.

This car is not french, it´s a Volkswagen. The only thing that´s french on this car is the tyres.

I saw a Koenigsegg video and they were at something like 260km/h and the guy driving the car just took his hands off the steering wheel and the car kept going straight as light on a single-mode optical fiber. What is my point here? The Veyron has a lot of tech but the hype is pretty much what keeps it at the top, if i was going to buy a car and i had £1.7M i would go for an Agera R with that amazing engine that just gets better when u go green.
Can you believe that super fast supercars like the Mclaren MP4-12C and Ferrari 458 only have HALF the horsepower of the Veyron? HALF!

because you need a key for the limiter to turn off and probably Bugatti didn't give him the key that's the answer.

I don't agree, its the engineering and the fact that its equally fast and ultra luxurious which make it the most talked about car. The fact that they lose millions on every car built because every component is the most exotic achievable. I like the Agera R but with its V8 Twin turbo engine, questionable interior and the fact it has been been timed around any track i cannot see how they can justify £1.2M. Not wanting to hate on it, it reminds me of the SSC Aero! with its configuration!
