That's the kind of problem under different circumstances would be interesting to diagnose, but that's beside the point. It's understandable the customer is pissed, and your company too. York would need to offer some really special adjustment to make good in this situation. Here's hoping you can regain the customer's confidence.

i agree, it would be nice to know what the issue was but we won't know because that's the only couple yorks we've done in years and don't plan on doing anymore LOL can you believe the were hesitant on giving us our money back!

I always cringe when I see that green sticker on the compressor. We have had nothing but problems with those LG compressors. York quality hasn't been the best either

I've heard so many bad things about that compressor its crazy how they're still in business.

Well since it's a heat pump there is not much info other than pressures and temps to go off of. First thing I would do is put in heating and jump out the defrost to make sure the reversing valve is not stuck.

unfortunately i couldnt put it into heat mode since it was 115 at the time of this video, ended up taking off this Piece of junk and installed a Trane

Quality control at its finest. Fuck that. I’ve had a doa Goodman. Blew the compressor. I try to stick to ICP or AS. York is good only on the commercial side.

The worst part about jobs like these is explaining things so clearly it leaves no room for technician error. It’s hard to explain to someone, “yeah the unit just fuckin sucks” when in their mind they’re wondering if they hired the right person😂 it’s all about communication I guess

Instead of pissing off customer for multiple days. Call York local distributor. Make them send out the Tech support guy (your area i think is Norman S Wright) He then can document and get this issue fixed with you and get the money end taken care of

Holy shit brother thats terrible, you're better off putting in a Payne convertible 😂 They have Copland scrolls and those dont fail as much as these LGs. Im also in AZ, and im starting to think the LG compressor cannot handle our heat. I changed a ton of them last season.

I've heard you can test for noncondensables by energizing the condenser fan without energizing the compressor, then comparing your PT chart to the outdoor temp.

One of the worst brands ever .
Iam doing hvac for 10 years and I've seen many yorks leaking Freon.
Especially the micro channel ones and that LG compressor is just an icing on the cake .
LG compressors are known to get jammed up. Seen that as well many many times.
Eventho they made them better now , however i don't trust LG.
If you wanna have good reputation, and happy customer stay away from york and any other brand with LG compressors.
Plus it's a waste of time and money as well, you need to pay for a crane one more time.

Trane on the residential side has been awful. Swapped out a few compressors, indoor coils, one outdoor coil, contactors and caps all on units 3 years and under.
