  • Today we see how my beloved Land Rover Discovery Eco Challenge handles Moab Utah. (Hint, it was brief). But none the less we get to experience some of the iconic trails out in this beautiful place.

    Wow what a fantastic adventure, looked like Sasha was enjoying her time outside as well. Just to ask, you said Teds “RENTAL” Jeep!!! Really? Let’s just hope they don’t follow your CZcams Channel or that you managed to get her returned and your deposit back before they saw what you had up to with it 🤣😂. A great shame the Eco Disco let you down, but as you said thank goodness it decided to fail in the car park and not on the trail or the highway. Looking forward to your next video 👍😎

      Haha, no it's Ted's Jeep, it just turned into the rental Jeep since I didn't manage to bring something that would make it.
      Sasha seemed to really enjoy the trip, she's a warm weather pooch so she loved it out there. We were really fortunate that the Eco gave up the ghost in the parking lot, could have gone badly elsewhere so I'm not even the least bit upset.
      On another note, there is a few places out there that you can rent similarly outfitted Jeeps like Ted's to rent and do the same trails that we did, pretty cool that they do that.

      It’s great that Ted decided to take the Jeep on the trailer, or did he just know the good old Eco Disco just might need help to return back home 🤔😂🤣. It’s obvious that Sasha is definitely a warm weather kind of girl 😎. To be able to rent a vehicle to do that trip is amazing and crazy at the same time, I bet their deposit it eye watering along with the return damage costs etc😡. Looking forward to you next adventure/ video, keep up the great work 👍😎

      I mean I think we all knew there was a chance the 220k mile Disco would pose a risk haha. Just didn't think it was going to be that issue. So the trailer was kind of planned, only thing I feel bad about is Ted took it a little easier to not risk breaking his Jeep since we were out of trailer space.
      And yeah it is neat that they would rent them for that, one place had newer Wranglers on 38" tires to rent, pretty cool. For instance Ted's is on 37s with the same size lift so the rental would be able to have a lot of fun too.

    Man the last time I was there, one of my buddies lost a clutch and had to ride passenger the whole time and the shop didnt get it done till the last day we were there. So you arent alone

      That sucks. We could have come up with a fix while we were there, but there was enough seats to ride and I figured it would be a whole lot more fun not sitting there and working on something instead of being out on the trails. So I’m not even mad, it was fun just being out there. All the more reason to head back now haha.

    An LS swapped Defender would do the trick! Looked like a great time!

      I think so! It even has a new steering shaft.
      It was a great time either way, beautiful place.

    Now that looked like a blast, How bad did Ted rub it in lol, But the Eco did make it out there, and the steering shaft was unexpected. Sasha looked like she enjoyed it a lot too. And you can always try it again with the Eco. But either way it was an adventure

      Always an adventure, it was a blast out there, not even the least bit upset that the Eco didn’t decide to steer.
      Sasha enjoyed the weather and the people around, she likes to be in on the action.
      Another trip out will have to happen.

    Cool trip! It's a shame the Eco didn't want to cooperate. 😒
    I'm glad that tree didn't fall on the house. That leaking roof is problem enough!

    • @LostCauseRanch
      @LostCauseRanch  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I guess these things happen on vehicles with 220k miles haha. But no the trip was a blast and I'm not really bothered by the Eco deciding to take a break, still had so much fun.
      I agree, have had enough trees end up on the house already. Some days I like being in the middle of the woods, some days I don't.

      It was a blast out there, tons of fun and neat seeing what essentially feels like a different world from where I live.
      Oh and Land Rovers just doing Land Rover things.

    Are landrovers a "lost cause" !? It would have been cool to see it do some of those obstacles. I love my rover but i dont even take it more than 2 hours away in fear of catastrophic failure 😂

    • @LostCauseRanch
      @LostCauseRanch  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Haha. I wouldn’t say that, just mine are haha. But no, it has 220k miles and is almost 30 years old so some things are bound to happen no matter what kind of vehicle it is. It’s all part of the adventure. It may swing back out there a little later this year yet.

    Question, What are the torque spec for the Spacers and wheel for your LR4? 96 lb/ft spacer, and 103 lb/ft wheels?

  • @JamieStreet24
    @JamieStreet24 Před měsícem

    Question? Looking at the kbb site for maintenance on my 2016 LR4 it says, Lubricate wheel spigot bore with anti-seize compound. Can you please let me know what that means and if I really need to do this? We have 95k miles on the truck. Thanks

    • @LostCauseRanch
      @LostCauseRanch  Před měsícem +1

      That would just be putting some anti seize on the wheel hub lip or on the inside of the wheel hub bore. It is just so the wheel doesn’t “freeze” to the wheel hub which makes it difficult to get the wheels off.
      So not super critical especially depending on your climate, but not a terrible idea to do when the wheels are off.

    I hate to be that guy, but no rig should be trusted to drive that far, then wheel, then drive back home. Should have trailered it from the start. Next time rent a U-Haul trailer and tow it with the LR4

    • @LostCauseRanch
      @LostCauseRanch  Před 29 dny

      (The trailer was actually there for the ECO all along) haha. But now if Ted didn’t trailer his new Jeep out I would’ve trailed the Eco both ways. We figured one of them would stand a decent chance of driving back. Worst case scenario it would just mean an unplanned trip back out to pick one up haha.
