I went stage 1+ on my mk6 gti the torque steer is insane up to about 90mph. It's quite the intense ride now. Never had much experience with mild hp and torque on a fwd car and it's pretty fun!
I like the smash button too lol. Love your vids man. I have a 2015 gti that I just started upgrading, and this video actually helped me SOOO much, thank you Lucas!!
Hey ya'll - I put everyone's name into one of those name picker things. Hey lucas. Got the '15 gti. Got the 93 1+ unitronic tune. Everything else on car is stock. What tune can i do to get the 2 step lag loud bangs. Not the quiet crackles that come with the stage 2.
What's a Unitronic 'Stage 1+'? On their site they only list 1, 2 and 2+ as tunes. I just bought a MK7 GTI w a Stage 2 and turns out I need to de-tune it to 1 to pass my stage emissions (2 shuts off 2-4 OBDll readiness monitors) and if there's a 1+ that's got a little extra over 1 but still keeps all OBDll running I'd love to know about it! Car came w UniConnect and I'm going to purchase the software transfer from Unitronic, think it's $150 bucks. Have zero experience w flash tunes but it looks so easy I'm not concerned about it. Glad I found your channel as I continue to add to this car!
I know this is an old vid but I like your presentation. I'm finally considering doing a catted downpipe and stage 1 tune on my 2019 gti dsg. I'm not really interested in pops n bangs and I'm also not trying to go for insane power. I'm just wondering if the gains are worth the money expenditure. I've heard the dsg tune is only necessary for state 2, what do you think?
Hey bud! Love your content! Should I get unitronic stage 1 or +. Does it come with the uniconet cable or is that not included? Stage 1 91 octane vs stage + min 93?
I just installed stage 2 today, my pops don't really go off as I thought it would. I only got it to pop like 3 times. I was trying it on sport mode and sport/manual.
Quick question bro for a stage 2 is a downpipe, cold air intake, and the stage 2 chip all you need or do you need something else to successfully run stage 2?
Cat back exhaust is not worth any power. A stage 1 tune will make a big difference on a stock car. After that get an intercooler, downpipe and stage 2.
from a dig Golf R probably has it with the AWD. but from a roll it should be close given that the Golf R is a bit faster but heavier. Also heard IS38 was more top end power while IS20 makes most power right out the gate
I’m wondering the same thing I have a 2020 gti that I want to go stage 2 on with the pops and bangs but I’m terrified I’m gonna pop a turbo or blow the motor and it won’t be covered guess I’m just gonna wing it
Do you have a recommendation for a tdi mk7 tune to give a smoother shift with alittle exhaust noise but no crackle pop atm i get 38-43 Mpg i don't want to loose much of that but my DSG is erratic in shift point depending on sport or regular like you were saying in normal it would kinda roll over 2 and 3 around 2800-3400 rpm in sport some time she will get close to 4200 before initial shifting.
Generic map, one map fits all, not all cars are the same, most ecu are now locked so cannot use obd port. Seems a contradictory way of re mapping, you remap the ecu engine tune, then re tune the ecu again for the gearbox, which would alter the remapped engine file to protect the dsg. Excessive pops and bangs WILL eventually kill your cat
Is the DSG tune and TCU tune the same or two different things? I currently have a stage 2 but I have neither dsg/tcu tune. Also is there a file that allows all those cracks and bangs? I have an AWE track exhaust and Armytrix DP and do not get that many cracks and bangs. Thanks for the help!!
yeah it's the same thing. TCU stands for transmission control unit. But you probably should go about and get it done. Have heard if you're tuned without a TCU it could mess up the DSG cause it has to be fitted to take the new tune power and improved shifting points. If you have Stage 2 most companies allow you to activate a pop and crackle feature for free
i wonder too. but i'm like the 3rd person to use that dp, it's been in use for like 4 years total. probably was gonna happen sooner or later given that it's a budget downpipe
@@cloudvisualz It's not a matter of returning to Uni, but rather possibly not being happy with the APR tune I have. I have yet to run my full tank of 91 octane (which I had in the car before the tune) out, and the tune is for 93 octane. As soon as I get a full take of 93 in the car and burn through that, I will know more about my car getting the boost in power I expected. Right now, I am not necessarily feeling it.
I have a mk3 TT with stage 1 uni, cutting off the mufflers, both res and the 2nd cat (post o2 sensor) and I can make the exhaust pop really nice(and loud) when driving in manual mode with my dsg, especially in 2nd a gear and running the rpm’s to about 3600rpm and slightly letting off the gas. Sounds amazing. Cuz stage 2 pops are just too much imo. and would get annoying for me. That’s why I like how I can do it. I have full control when I use it. :)
That moment a gti video makes you want to eat popcorn.. for some reason... Quick Question : Any one know where I can find a Golf 7.5 key cover. Only Golf 7 key covers on Amazon and Alixpress.😭
I think they’re the same keys. I could be wrong tho Also if you’re looking at those silicone key covers I’d recommend against it. I had one and all that happened was that dirt got trapped between the cover and the key and still scratched it
Hey man I have an mk7 dsg too. Do I have to tune both the ecu and the transmission? I just want to do a stage 1 right now but I don’t know what I have to do for the dsg
I have a mk7 golf 1.8 tsi just got an intake from MAPerformance and planning on going stage 2 later after a new downpipe so that inlet elbow would be very nice to add :) @bobthedoge03

@@johndoe5229 Personal experience and facts. Numbers don’t lie. Both 0-60 and 1/4 mile is faster with EQT via draggy.
