- It's the 50th Anniversary of the Challenger and Dodge is celebrating in a big way with a SPECIAL EDITION across all trims. This Gold Rush Challenger GT has a 3.6L V6 that is producing 305HP & mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. On the outside you will find a special color, black satin hood/roof/truck, 20in wheels and 50th Anniversary badging. On the inside you will dine the premium interior with Alcantara, special stitching and even more reminders you have a very special Challenger. Also, for everyone complaining that it’s only a V6, just don’t buy it. Sheesh. It’s not like you don’t have plenty of choices for crazy horsepower in the other Challenger models. Not everyone wants or needs a V8.
I am a 71 year old Vietnam veteran. I bought the Challenger GT to cruise in, NOT to drag race. I have owned a new 08 black SRT and a new 09 Pearl Blue SRT. I am happy with my Challenger GT FROSTBITE 50th Anniversary edition number 37 of 70 built. 99% of the people on the road have no clue that my car has 305 horsepower, people think it has more horsepower. The car still gets thumbs up with plenty of compliments. Thank you for the review.

Sweet ride, Joe! A V-6 option is alarm ys a plus, definitely should be in my driveway lol. Yeah, I learned a lesson a ton of years ago with a V-8. GT is more my speed, but! Doesn't hurt to dream of the big ticket rides

Hi Joe. I happen to LOVE your Challenger videos! I own a 50th Anniversary RT so thought I would share a couple cool things about them. First, the Air catcher headlights have a “50” inside them when they are lit up. I agree the wheels look silver most of the time, but they are actually “gold school” color, along with all the badges, and you can see the gold hue when the light hits them just right. Also, that is real carbon fiber on the dash and center console. It has copper wire weaved in it to give it that copper look. And every 50th Anniversary edition does come with an SRT track experience at the Bondurant Driving School in Arizona, if you can get there! Just thought you and your viewers might find these interesting. Keep up the great work! Thanks!

I feel like the challenger should get an new overhaul with its design for the upcoming years.

This car although modern still retains a lot of vintage elements to it! Color has a 70’s vibe to it!
This is one of the best paint schemes I have seen on a Challenger. It gives me ideas if I buy an R/T or SRT.

I am from Australia and this car brought back memories of two local brothers who owned Rob's Pizzeria. The two brothers would park their 265 Hemi's Valiant Chargers at the front of the pizzeria and they were identical. It was awesome !. They later got Ferrari's (The same one as Magnum P.I. I think it's the 308 GT ?). They use to park these at the front as well ! The review made me think of the orange and black chargers back in the day !. Thank you Joe :)

As a car enthusiasts I have to say the anniversary edition that I drove was fun to drive but where I feel they could have improved on this particular model or the anniversary edition is by giving it an upgraded exhaust to make it sound more aggressive.

My thoughts exactly. I see these GT's will no visual separation anymore. They should have a flat hood, no spoiler, single exhaust etc. If they want the look they'll have to pay for it like I thought I did!??

I love my GT. Love that it's just so clean visually. Limited badging. And mine is completely blacked out, rims are dark too. Too sexy. I'll be upgrading down the road or supercharging. But it drives amazing as is.

@@hse6144 Dodge puts 3.6 in all of their vehicles because it’s a reliable engine. But they are tuned differently to meet the cars needs. Charger, Challenger, Durango, Chrysler 300, Caravan, Etc.

The V6 is a let down on a car that looks like a beast kinda like the EcoBoost Mustang & its Inline 4 they just don't look like they belong together 😞😞😞.
Ecoboost is great tho. 310 hp and gobs of torque out of a lightweight 4 banger. It might not be a muscle car but it’s one fine affordable sports car

Dodge honestly gives you a lot of options from V6's to their crazy V8's and the color combos you can choose from.

Thanks, Joe, for a great review! I like it, though I wish they'd sprung for power seats on both sides. The Challenger is one of the best--if not THE best--for a nice touring coupe, vs the 'Stang and the Camaro, IMHO.

I think they should have gone a few steps more to make this a really stand out as a special edition.

I’ve never liked the spoiler on these cars. Like either do a spoiler or just get rid of it. The SXT (entry trim from a couple years ago) just had a flat trunk and looked much better.
Would it hurt the value down the line to put some flowmasters or something on it? Could use it.

Can’t front on the GT Challenger that was my first Challenger and what made me love them & MOPAR. For $41,000 though not sure if that is worth it. It does have a hellcat interior but a V6 engine. Anyway great review. Keep em coming!

Wow, nice special edition and the color/wheel combination looks awesome. Too bad Chrysler couldn’t tweak that V6 to make it more powerful and fun to drive. The look is spot on though.
It looks beautiful and I will take this over the hellcat or scat pack because the gt is awd and it’s useful for snow and bad weather conditions but the scat pack and hellcat are only rwd and it’s bad at snow, also the gt has a smooth power delivery because it’s a naturally aspirated v6 engine rather than the hellcat with a jerky power delivery.
all these variations and they still don't want to mate V8 + AWD in this bodyline :( ... I drove / owned couple different versions of these, liked each of them and was pretty surprised how well the GT drove ... fyi great review as always, thx for sharing ;)
For $41k you may as well buy a clean 370z that is already much faster and costs 20 to 25k. You can use the leftover money to tune it to over 400 whp. Hell you may even have money for a twin turbo kit.

I'm kinda surprised. It seems my 2014 SXT challenger has more room in it. I love the leather in the GT and those more premium options though.
I wish this color was available in Canada we had 1 option for the 50th and that was Go mango.

Never seen a gold Challenger before. The one you're talking about in the video is beautiful. The GT's are still pretty quick even though it's only a v-6. Wish they offered the more aggressive exhaust sytems for the GT's. According to a Didge mechanix I spoke with tge GT's have stiff rear gears. I believe he said 3.90's. That's probably why my Challenger only gets 14 mog in the city.

Got a guy, at the dealership I work at, who ordered this, and I got to check this out myself. Looked pretty nice! But it was a let down when I saw this it was a v6 lol. But definitely, a step up in interior quality because we all know how much plastic Dodge puts it their vehicles😂
