  • This is a hotel review of the Residence Inn by Marriott Halifax Downtown located in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia. The hotel is located within a 5-10 minute walk from attractions such as the Halifax Waterfront and the Halifax Citadel including the Old Town Clock. I cover the features of the hotel including the breakfast area, the rooftop patio, and one of the rooms. I also explain how the hotel parking works while staying at the hotel.

Marriott is a good chain to go with. Me and my wife both worked for the Williamsburg Marriott about twenty years ago. Good company to work for. That would be confusing to pull out of the garage and have a no left turn sign but not being able to turn right either lol. Good review Scott!

For sure! I try to stay at Marriott chains (or any of the other Marriott Bonvoy hotels) when I travel and stay at a hotel. I have been very happy with the quality of their hotels. Pulling out of the parking garage definitely threw me off the first time, lol! I made the "illegal" left turn to get out as the gate to the right was closed. When I got back that night from Lunenburg, I asked the front desk about how to turn, and I ended up doing the right thing. Thanks for watching!

The Marriott Hotel Chain is known internationally for being a top notch provider for their guests. When I worked for them at the Livonia Marriott I met the CEO/Chairman of the company; J.W. Marriott Jr. (AKA Bill Marriott). His father started the company in 1927. Bill Marriott is 87 years old now and gave up his seat as chairman a few years ago. His net worth is $2.5 Billion.

Wow, that's awesome! I've enjoyed the different Marriott hotels I've stayed in especially this one!

@@scottman895 I'll talk to Bill. He's a pretty generous guy. He'll probably hook you up with an all exclusive VIP Pass that'll allow you unlimited (for life) accommodations to all of his hotels throughout the world; there's one drawback however. The only rooms you're allowed to stay in are the Presidential Suites. Transportation to and from the airports is included.

Thank you for the suggestion! I don't really see me staying there as more people probably would be interested in either the Bavarian Inn Lodge or Zehnder's Splash Village when it comes to lodging in Frankenmuth. I'm sure the Fairfield Inn there is really nice though!
