As a 54 yr. old black man I had to see what these young people thought about this tune. I believe it was released in like 81 and remixed and re-released in 87. I still enjoy listening to it and the Chaka Khan duo “Higher Love”. Glad I came across this. 👍🏿

A very great voice, as always. Also a memorable one for many reasons given that Steve Winwood was in Traffic, The Spencer Davis Group, Blind Faith, Ginger Baker's Air Force, Eric Clapton and the Powerhouse and his solo career.

Steve Winwood is a bona fide musical genius This was during his highly successful solo career during the 80's, but my favorite era are his earlier days. From a teenage prodigy with the Spencer Davis Group ("Gimmie Some Lovin' " - when he drew huge crowds in the London clubs and was hailed as the white Ray Charles) to his formation of his incredible band Traffic, and then the supergroup Blind Faith (with Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker)

How about ROLL WITH IT! and the official music video. His voice was such that at 17, people would travel north to Birmingham to hear the kid that sang like Ray Charles. GIMME SOME LOVIN' and I'M A MAN with the Spencer Davis Group. Brad, Big Hair in the '80s was often accentuated in the studio with fans blowing it (even with Farrah Fawcett in the '70s).

There are actually 2 versions of this song. The one you listened to is the original 1982 version which was a minor hit in both the US and Canada. The second version is a remix that was released in 1987 that was a major hit in multiple countries. It's definitely worth doing a reaction at some point of the remixed version. Both are great BTW
