That was so enlightening. Thank you Caryn and Austin. Throughout my working life, and even in retirement, I have always planned in detail what I am going to wear for either the day ahead or an event. Foremost in mind is always the kind of people I expect to meet. To paraphrase what Caryn said, when I dress the part, I feel the part, and act the part, such is the power of dressing right. As for the strangest things people notice on a first impression, I was at an outdoor press event when I bumped into a friend and his wife, whom I had not previously been introduced to. I had made every effort to be smartly turned out. A week later, my friend told me that his wife had commented favourably to him on my attire, and particularly my highly polished shoes! 😲

When a man is well turned out and in appropriate smart attire, it provides him with a sense of confidence to speak with anyone in any social encounter. Dressing like a gentleman will signal to the world that you ARE a gentleman and are serious about your image and your reputation.

Any chance you have a link to that experiment which was mentioned about suits?

Fascinating and quite right. One must also realize that clothing can be used as a 'disguise' a la 'Ted Bundy' , something to keep in mind just the same!

First impression.....stop the hand waving and lose the funky hair and clothes to be taken seriously.

You can stand about 2 mins of her. Then look at another Chanel. She added zero value and simply irritates the viewer. God willing they won’t have her back.

Don’t ya just hate the expression “ unpack it”. I just hate that. Use another expression.
