Not only does it get me to think about which one would be best suited to my needs it also helps me, as a newer woodworker, really understand how to get full use out of these tools and understand their purposes. • @theintelligentcarpenter9407

I have the larger Milwaukee speed square, and I love it. The lip for hooking onto the side of the board is larger than my recently replaced empire speed square. It's great for being able to lock into the rounded corners of a 2x4, and a csharp carpenters pencil fits into the graduated notches well. Not all full size speed squares have those and they are really awesome to have. I don't find the thickness of the blade to be an issue, I just make sure I'm above my work properly. I also use the edge of my pencil lead to lock into the groove of the marking and rotate it down onto the workpiece. It's not inconvenient at all really. I'm very happy with it. I even use it in my shop, almost done with my son's new dresser.

Wow, long video but well worth the watch and learned a lot that I didn't know!!
The more videos I watch on the Woodpecker tools, the more it makes sense that the price is worth it!
    Thanks for sharing.....

Excellent comparison and explanation of functions. Thank you! I use the Milwaukee version all the time as my goto for quick lines and as an edge guide for my circular saws in the field. The elongated window is really useful by flipping the square to view the wood edge in the window putting the 90 degree edge inboard as the distance from the edge for a line. I do not find these squares precise enough for detailed shop work, but are very handy for general trim and finish work in the field. And, your comment about those holes being too small for anything but a mechanical pencil is spot on…and I always break the lead in mechanical pencils.

You have put out some great videos. I have learned a lot since I am new to wood working. Been looking into woodpecker name brand and features and this company, through your videos have been very helpful in guiding me to buy good products with very user friendly designs and being accurate. Thank you. look forward to more of your videos.

No problem whatsoever with the length of such an informative and thorough video. Your channel is a wonderful resource for us wood hackers, as we hack apart wood and then glue it back together. Thanks for your efforts to educate us.

Thats so much for that info it was worth watching I've used a Swanson speed square for years in framing and finishing houses I've even built my own and shed thousands on labor costs. But you have showed me a few things I did t know about my speed square. You sir have proven something else with your video and that is tou can teach a old dog new tricks. Thanks again im going to go get me one to use in my woodworking.

Most can't get their hands on all the options to decide. I can't stand buying landfill, so I find these detailed reviews that include both facts and opinion on narrow subjects are incredibly helpful. Much appreciated!

Thanks for taking the time to do these comparison videos. Little details like the rounded edge on the Milwaukee is something that would most likely go unnoticed unless it was pointed out. Thank you!

Don't apologize for the length and detail of your comparison videos. Your information is far more accurate and touches on far more situations than the average comparison. Thanks for taking the time & making the effort to produce such great comparisons.

Thank you, very informative video. I am a beginner in woodworking and a lot of tools I have were my dads that I kept after his passing. We just purchased a new house and the couple left a very, what I think, high end wood shop. Lucky me and I am learning by watching so thanks again.

Great video, ive used the speed square often in my shop. I find it handy since im making a lot of 45 degree cuts. It speeds up the process of having to align other types of squares at 45. Keep up the awesome work.
