  • Today I build the helmet for my Jango Fett costume. I love building helmets, they're just the coolest part. This one took quite a bit of patience between paint layers, but it was worth it!
    I produce the metal range finders and ear pieces over on my Etsy shop
    www.etsy.com/u...
    Helmet kit is from Zero Cool Prop Shop on Etsy

    The helmet looks so good it brings back memories... I didn’t care about dying in the arena at that age, I just had to hold my father’s helmet one last time.

    Thought I'd point this out. I re-watched the fight between Obi-Wan and Jango on Kamino and after Jango flew off he lines himself up to fire the rocket on his jetpack. If you watch closely, the range finder on his helmet angles back toward the missile meaning that the range finder can tilt a full 180 degrees.

    Hello! Fantastic video, thanks to you I bought some of the gold finger wax as well and I’m using it for my Jango helmet too. So far it looks movie quality, but I wanted to ask if you know of any technique to smooth out the “splotchy-ness” of the wax? I believe I applied the wax evenly over a clean surface and carefully book it, but the wax seems to have a lot of darker spots to it. Do you know any work around for this?

    • @BucketheadStudios
      @BucketheadStudios  Před 3 lety +1

      That's great! As for the splotchyness I'm not sure, I did a couple of coats, buffing in between, and leaving a day or 2 between to let the wax dry. I had to be careful about applying it too thick as it can build up in places and look different. Also be careful if you weather with oil paints, they look the best but will take up the finish a little.
