When I had my son my mom stayed with us for the first week. She went home for a week and a half and then i called her to come back out and help because i was struggling. Having your mom to help with your first baby was a huge blessing

Having had 3 little ones myself, having my mom around was suuuuch a help during and right after birth. I don’t think it’s actually considering having them over as visitors or hosting family. Mostly being able to have someone there to help, big emphasis on the HELP part 😅
    100% recommend!

Six weeks postpartum with our first baby, introvert here as well - definitely took it slow in going out into the world again, unplanned c-section so still healing but my advice would be, listen to your body and self, and what you two are comfortable with. Prayer above all is so powerful. Praying for you both, your son, pregnancy, and all else. 🤍

Cruz for a baby boy where mom and dad met. Two is plenty you’ll see once you have his baby and everything does change, but structure and love help make the child feel secure.

Waiting at least a month postpartum is a very good idea! Especially since your family will be staying with you. That is what we did and that was the best decision. You also don't know how you will deal with everything going on postpartum (tiredness, learning to breastfeed, healing...) so you will most probably want to preserve your bubble !

I recently had my first back in February. My husband had 3 weeks of paternity leave and we had no visitors until after that. It was so nice to share that time with my husband solely and get used to the transition on our own. Like you mentioned it was nice not having visitors as I recovered so I didn’t have to worry about hosting or being modest. Honestly it was the best decision for us. My husband loved and wanted to be involved and we were worried that having family come early on would take time away he had with baby. It was so nice having that time with my husband and little one. After my husband went back to work my mom came to help with the transition which worked out great because he started having more trouble sleeping so she could assist with that. It was a little difficult setting that expectation with our family at first however they understood and we are so thankful we told them months in advance of our plan for visitation after baby. Definitely do what is best for your family.

Aw so sweet - just you three for a while. This is more what we've been thinking as we will have a similar situation. And then have family come in after the first few weeks or month if need. Seems to be an emphasis on setting expectations though so thanks for sharing! Very insightful and encouraging!

We wouldn’t have survived the first month without our parents (unexpected c-section.) We called them after our first night home alone. We set clear boundaries regarding baby & our bedroom. We literally pushed all our responsibilities to our parents & were fully present as a new family of 3. Originally our plan was not to have visitors, however I’m so so thankful we did. The only thing I would have done different would be planing to have them in advance. I never felt like I was hosting… I felt like I was getting a once in a lifetime opportunity to be fully present without outside obligations.

I had my mom come down the first week PP. She stayed in a hotel room though and only came during the days/evenings. She mainly just made food for my husband and I and helped around the house while we figured out how to do life with a baby.
It was really nice to have her with us the first week but staying in a hotel to also give us some space as well.
We also didn’t see too many people until a month afterwards!

Oh and by the way, I have 2 little girls and having my mom at my house on the first weeks post-partum was such a blessing!! As she was more of a helper rather than a visitor. So many things about a newborn that are so new as a first time mom. Bathing baby, colics, umbilical cord.... etc. Also, she helped a lot with cooking and cleaning as I was mostly too tired and emmotional to do that!
Of ourse you could make a lot of planning and prep ahead like freezer meals and document yourself about everything. My own opinion is that having help around does come really handy after a newborn. But you do you! However you think it is the best and suits you guys!
Praying and sending lots of blessings to you! ❤❤❤

After he was born the pain would come back every so often for about 6 months after especially when I cleaned the whole house. With my 2nd son (6 months old) I have not had sciatica during pregnancy or after. Praying for you and believing that the chiropractor will help prevent the pain from lasting long. So excited for you both!

It’s good to have help at 6 weeks bc you’ve gotten used to nursing sleep times feeding times and it’s at six week mark do you feel more secure to leave baby with grandma while you take a shower or a walk or go shopping six weeks is a sweet spot and then have the other grandma come after the other one leaves. The best course for parents is big little feelings and feeding models. The two best course is ever feeding. Little book is available in target.

I thought my birth would be a lot different than it turned out, and initially I felt the same way about now having people over. But after the birth, postpartum was insanely difficult, and my mom and mother in law came to help and it wasn’t anything less of a blessing from God to have a village around me. I don’t think I would’ve been okay without that support, and even with that help I was emotionally going through SO much. I would advise that you would allow family to come and help in those early days, having a newborn and learning to take care of another human is insanely difficult when you are not getting much sleep at all. Some nights my mom would stay up with him and bring him in for feedings when I would have breakdowns and be at a low point. Baby boy is 8.5 months old now and time flies !! Just create the boundary in your mind to humbly receive help and love from family and don’t set the expectation on yourself to take care of them as a host. They are coming to support YOU, sometimes the battle about these things come from an uncomfortability in ourselves to reject help or support that requires us to open up to vulnerability, and it can be tough, but it was so much harder when they weren’t there.

I would consider having someone there for during and after birth. I know this isn’t true for everyone, but I felt most comfortable with my mom as I felt absolutely zero need to host or be “decent” (ie, definitely walked around in diapers with boobs out around her!) But that first month can be so hard emotionally and physically and having a third person (who understands what it’s like to push a baby out) would be incredibly helpful to you and Kyle. If you’re comfortable with your mom and feel like you can be honest with her about your needs, I would 100% recommend having her with you during labor and that first month!

If you have a natural birth and not a c section I’d say definitely take that first month off of seeing people! If you can financially handle Kyle being off of work that first month all the better. I definitely needed my mom after my c section since my husband was back to work within 2 days. I couldn’t walk very well so I physically couldn’t fully take care of my son for the first week. I know some moms that are walking just hours after their surgery so totally a case by case basis. And I don’t say that to worry you, but just be prepared because I was not expecting to have a c section and wish I had prepared for it :) I pray your birth plan goes to plan for you two! One more thing I wish I had during that time were friends! That was my husbands and I’s community-less season (Covid) so I never had help from other people besides my mom. Next time I am totally going to have a meal train going for when friends ask what they can do!! Having healthy meals during that post partum season would have been so nice

Honestly everyone is different yes depending on how God writes your story, but I think you guys are having babies at the perfect age! You should have a bit of time with just you & hubby. Also just time to get life experience & mature! You guys aren’t old! Y’all are wise in the Lord! ❤✨

concerning whether or not you should share about your baby i suggest watching the dad challenge podcast. the internet is not safe for kids and it exploits their privacy. love you guys.

I am giggling at you two thinking bringing your baby everywhere will be so easy and relaxing because it will turn your life upside down and the baby will be in charge….when babies are newborns they travel well and sleep through anything but that changes as they grow and schedules become more important …you will rely on naps to get things done etc. etc. eventually your baby will go to bed at 7:30 and sleep until 7:30 and it will be hard to take them out to social events at night….just sayin

But i know its just me and 'm glad everybody loves it and the channel hasnt been affected. Because i do want you to win.
